- Jameis Winston says Ken Dorsey is installing the offense and calling plays this preseason. Was this an accidental leak on the upcoming power structure of the 2024 Cleveland Browns? Do you trust Ken Dorsey to take away play calling from Kevin Stefanski?
It’s no secret that the Cleveland Browns are installing a new offense this offseason, but it’s been somewhat of a mystery when it comes to who the offensive play caller will be in 2024.
It’s been Kevin Stefanski’s job over the past four seasons but the team brought in former Cleveland quarterback and Buffalo Bills OC Ken Dorsey in February. Though his official title is “Offensive Coordinator” it doesn’t necessarily mean he’d be outright calling plays, e.g., Alex Van Pelt’s tenure with the Browns.

I think Kevin Stefanski wants to win. He strikes me as a no nonsense type person. He strikes me as someone who is able to check his ego at the door when necessary. You don’t win coach of the year two times in three years or whatever it was, without being a very good coach, you see it with the players they have a whatever it takes to win mentality and I think Kevin Stefanski has been a big part of instilling that culture in Cleveland

It's the beginning of June. This sounded more like a debate, than an argument when there isn't a lot to talk about but you still have a show to put on.

It’s the off-season. All about speculation talk. Quit complaining. Watch or watch something else. Ungrateful audience. These dudes give us heavy lengthy content everyday when there is nothing to talk about. They go deeper into situations and content for the audience than most would do on their own or for themselves.
Dorsey should and will call plays that’s why you brought him in.. Stefanski has grown into a great team builder, let him focus on that

You wouldn't switch it up though...Dorsey is calling the plays and he's gonna continue to call the plays.
Playcalling was taken away from Stefanski...thats why Dorsey took the job.

This is what I think Cleveland needed, Kevin Stefanski trusts Ken Dorsey and he didn’t trust Alex Van Pelt. I think he gave Van Pelt a chance but ultimately didn’t trust him now he’s free to manage the game and interject when he needs too.

I think the reason why we haven’t seen the extension is bc of the situation with DW. Maybe Haslam haven’t seen enough bc of suspension and injuries. He might also be betting on himself which is the other reason and think that’s a big possibility too
Yea for sure. Haslams spent alot to get DW. I’d be bringing in a offensive coach that knows how to get the qb ready as well. Alex Van pelt had the chance but couldn’t get the job done. Exactly what they need w Dorsey. More aggressive system and play calling. Browns gonna do it this season! Super Bowl on the way!

Let's be honest... this shouldn't be some sort of secret to the team or the fanbase. Ken Dorsey is a legit offensive coordinator and Stefanski never was. Making it a "secret" shows weakness in the minds of management/ownership. BTW, Stefanksi's playoff record is 0-2, not 1-3. His coaching record is 36-30, not 37-30. You don't get credit for games you don't coach.
KS has won accolades because his teams have won in spite of not because he's brilliant
Just how much more obvious does it have to be before you guys can see this was FORCED on Kevin? He was hired to install the offense they have been running. It earned him 2 COTY awards and 2 trips to the playoffs. Oh, BTW, it was APV who was calling the plays in our only playoff win, so do give me that crap KS didn't trust APV. Little doubt Kevin lost a power struggle with DW over the offense that DW couldn't run. So out with APV and the offense that requires a QB to read the defense, and in with the one read then run offense that any HS QB can run. Personally, I can't wait to see what happens when this blows up in their faces. My guess is Kevin is made the scapegoat after a 7-10 season.

That makes sense that he is installing the plays because he is bringing in the new plays. So if they're his play it makes sense that he would be him taking the reigns on the install and play call during offseason. Yall about to foul out in the 1st qtr with all this reaching.
It will be much easier for Stefanski to blame Dorsey for everything and get him fired when D. Watson lays another egg this season (and he will). Even Kyle Shanahan couldn't run an offense with D. Watson as QB.

I am so sick of hearing jay talk as though KS was forced to hire dorsey. There is no evidence of this.
KS may be fine with it. Dorsey calling the game is almost 💯 his call, if it happens. In fact, we have every reason to think that is the case. He he changed cooridators last year and it went really well.
He has friends who are and have been head coaches, he knows how they move, and he uses them for advice. He probably has nothing further to gain from alex van pelt, since he's been calling the man's offense for years, and the addition of Dorsey C
comes with him having a year's experience working with a new DC.
All this contract talk and all this talk of him being forced is completely manufactured. If you're gonna put out an idea about the team that has 0 proof or evidence other than your opinion, you should probably make it super clear you're doing it, so people who are listening know that it's bullshit.
And when Dorsey succeeds at play calling the world will truly see how KS (Op) sucks.!

I don't mind KS he was able to win a playoff game when baker was qb, then go back to the playoffs with flacco too. That 2020 year was really impressive because we did not have a top 5 defense that year.
