Hi everyone. We have no longer got a fireplace after a lifetime of having one. I want an axe just like that anyhow. Just to hang on the wall and admire in my shed! Wow that is a beauty. Buckin your the handle master man.
@@BuckinBillyRaySmith yep I still split a bit of wood for my son and his family. Always enjoyed wood splitting. Satisfying job. Realy enjoy your humour and passion and just getting it done.

I just finished putting in my first handle on my dad's axe head and I'm 16 years old. Not the best result that I had hoped for but it will work and I will learn over time thanks to Buckin. Cheers from Florida!!
I've got about three axes I was too eager to set the wedge on and I'm going to redo. The kerf was closing and they weren't sitting on the shoulder. Two Säters and a Wira. They deserve better. No rushing it this time. Thanks, Buckin'.
I went to my dad's house and found two of the three axe heads that belong to his dad I remember using them as a kid helping dad split wood we grew up poor fire wood was the only income my dad had coming in when I was little so the hole family help out I enjoyed it except getting into bees nest lol but anyway i have been trying to pay attention to your axe work I want to try to put handles back in them I want to use one of them and put the other on the wall
Hi Billy ray, I watch your videos from England - UK. Brilliant informative tips and advice, I found out about your accident and would like to comment on how you now look upon life, I think its being the making of you from a man into a fine human being, I love the posotivity you wish upon others and the community, people do not realise how lucky they are and respect what they have until it is to late. My total respect, take care.
Funny you said "get back to the boat." I'm on a Sternwheeler, well.. The Sternwheeler on the Willamette. A anyway, big oak's have been fallen and I'm wanting to cut, chop and store You answered my question when you said you spent an hour so well worth pulling outhe leatherman and witl away like olehuck finn. Thanks
Cool! Hi Buckin! I just burnt 2 axe handles for the first time and they look good. I am wanting to try to build my own axes and have found many heads on ebay to purchase. My question is what brand of handles do i look at to purchase? Thanks for your knowledge and inspiration to give it a go!
Oh my Lord....that axe is a sweet piece of steel. Buckin' Billy in God mode doing the axes again. I wish I had half the know how. It will come in time... Love to all 💓💓 Happy Saturday !!!!
i hope maybe some day you will visit Croatia :) to see our coast and islands;paradise on earth, hahaha just let me know i i will show you our forest and beautiful intact nature, i will be your guide ;) , little off topic,my grandfather was his whole life a forester(cutting trees) and i was always wondering what kind of chainsaw he had( all other his colleges forester worked with stihl chainsaws, but he had something different) some kind of yellow chainsaw, i was a little kid and didn't know anything about that, the writing was mcculloch(sorry for possible misspelling, not my language ;) he preferred this one over all stihls in the company, but the problem was the parts,it was immposible to find so he had to improvise his whole life and make the parts for him self. now i am grown and i want to restore that chainsaw, but must look what model that was, some pretty good saw. thanks man for you videos and your beautiful community of great people. thanks allot
I don’t understand why companies don’t hang their axes proud so many companies even expensive axes don’t hang their axes proud when almost all of us know that’s probably the best way to do it seeing that would spread at the top just makes it feel complete and idky companies don’t do that
Bucking, where do you get your handles? Am just getting started in hanging, thanks to your videos, and am not impressed with the poor quality handles at local farm/hardware stores. Thanks!

One of the axe is a 3.5 pound plumb double axe head and the other is a single head but I can't find anything on it at all I know it's old because it was my grandpa's and dad doesn't know how long he had it but he knows it was around when he was 16 he is 65 now
