I have to admit, when I was a kid I used to love these movies of the week. One of my favorite ones is (Hotline) with Lynda Carter. It was perfectly cheesy. I heard Quentin Tarantino on a podcast last year talking about how he saw (Hotline) and freaked out. Because it's about 50% the plot line to his movie Once Upon a Time in Hollywood.
This was the only complete network airing of this movie. The March 14th 1988 rerun on CBS Late Night had the film cut to 58 minutes to fill an eighty minute time slot.
Ray Walston was known for starring in My Favorite Martian ( 1963-66). As Mr Hand in the classic Fast Times at Ridgemont High (1982) As Judge Henry Bone on the David E Kelley series Picked Fences ( 1992-96). Which garnered 2 Emmy wins for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series ( 1995 & 96).
19:20 John Bartholomew Tucker did many commercial voiceovers over the course of his career. Famously for Fotomat ( "Where your photos matter") during the 70s and 80s. Dirt Devil Vacuum Cleaners in the 90s. And Owens -Corning ""Pink Panther " Fiberglass Insulation.
@@ken_danerdiest1 - JBT was also an early member of the "Eyewitness News" team at WABC Channel 7 in New York, and was the first host of "A.M. New York" (an indirect predecessor to what is today "Live with Kelly and Mark") on that station.
Funny movie! 😄 Now about the turkey day football games on thanksgiving week...The Packers fell to 5-8 of the year after losing to the Lions 31-28 at the Silverdome and #10-ranked Boston College Eagles def. the #12-ranked Miami Hurricanes 47-45 which was known as the Hail Flutie game.
Jamie Farr would attempt to host a couple game shows in real life. He hosted pilots for Mark Goodson and Dick Clark respectively. As well as for Woody Fraser. He also subbed for Tom Kennedy on WordPlay.
You’re correct about Mark Elliott being the voice of the bumpers. Additional voices: 48:59 Lance LeGault - Dukes/Dallas/Falcon promo 1:24:55 Jackson Beck - Sominex 2 I’m not certain, but the voice at 00:58 for Andre Champagne sounds like Orson Bean. (or maybe Richard Dysart)
And in that Always pads commercial it sounds like Katie Couric doing the voice over. V wonder if she did vos for commercials whole trying to make if as a news anchor.

Actually, I can't tell if it's between Mark Elliott or Brian Cummings. Mark sounded lower in pitch.
I think it was Orson voicing the Andre commercial
It was Mark. He was the regular voice for CBS at the time.

The voice at 1:11:45 sounds like Katie Couric.
