Hello. The Thule T2 Pro XTR has it's own locking method built in to the anti-wobble turn knob. It is not compatible with the STL which requires specific threading found on some of Thule's other hitch racks. Thanks.
The threading is just dumb and unnecessary. I bought a used car with a Thule bike rack that had this lock on it. I cut the lock off but the stupid threading caused the whole lin to get siezed from rust and I can't remove it to get an inspection sticker.
The design of the bolt is too long. A pair of bolt cutters and a wrench and the rack is stolen. Thule needs to redesign this so the bolt is shorter, then once the lock is on should make stealing it much harder. Plus why is it so expensive, $75 really Thule?
Hello, thanks for sharing. There are other Thule designs that do offer greater security, they're found on Thule's newest offerings. As models see upgrades, the hitch lock mechanism will likely be upgraded as well.

How do you remove it? First unscrew and then unlock or other way around?
Hello. Best to unlock the lock pod first, then unscrew the bolt. Thanks!
Can I use it on a Thule T2 Pro XTR?

Hello. Yes, we'd always recommend removing the rack when not in use. Thanks!
