Let's face it, it shouldn't even be possible for Halford to do this at his age, so every show is a minor miracle in itself. The dynamic qualities of his voice are finally starting to show some age, but not much. The only major difference to me seems to be the amount of energy & focus he needs to pull it off. That, and some of the joy in it appears to be missing now (probably because it's so damned hard to pull off what used to be almost effortless for him). But to be doing this in 2022 with NO VOCAL CHEATS/SAMPLES is absofuckinglutely amazing.
The funny thing about him singing is that you can see so well what songs he feels comfortable in. Examples from these shows are riding on the wind, between the hammer and the anvil, beyond the realms of death etc. While others like this one and genocide you can tell doesn't really fall into his comfortable place in his register, which may improve in a few shows time too as it often goes but that doesn't mean it sounds horrible at all just different. Regardless of that though i agree with it's incredible that he can do these songs at all and to me screaming for vengeance sounds better now than it did in 2015 which i have no idea how he can pull that off lol.
@@jukeboxhero8137 Sorry for rambling in the comments 😂 but halford mentioned in an interview some years ago about painkiller in particular that it can get a bit old to play + if i recall correctly it was also at that time related to it being hard for glenn to play it so they skipped it for the first leg of the redeemer of souls tour before reintroducing it in 2015 after getting warmed up with the first leg of said tour. No clue if it is true here but i assume they skipped it alongside other classics to do a few more rarities instead cause they have played painkiller + others during this tour already.
If you love METAL. Then understand this. Judas Priest are the leaders in the heavy metal genre. There are some great Hard rock and Heavy Metal Singers but please.... no one holds a microphone like the Metal God himself.
Looking forward to seeing Judas in So Cal. On Nov.7th I will have seen Priest for the 12th time in my life. Lmfao at age 58 and thinking they still sound amazing. Been to see Maiden 10 x always kick ass
Love Priest but come on...an 80 year old dressed like that, he can't move, his voice subpar. Just going through the paces to get a paycheck. At this point I would almost want to listen to Priest live without Rob singing just like I would with Rush without Geddy.
Don't know. I'm 49 now, been listening for Priest since youth and I would HAPPILY pay for ticket to see them. To me, that still sounds excellent! Has maybe been better, but still to be able to enjoy them live like this... I think this is awesome still! Those who don't think the same, don't see them... I mean, I have enough understanding to know, that a man at his 80's don't sound the same as a man at his 30's... If I would think like that, I would think there's something much more serious wrong with me... Or what do you think???

So true. The man is the Metal God.
I wonder if that’s why they’re not doing painkiller. Either way I’m super excited to see them live again this week🤘😎
@@jukeboxhero8137 I was wondering the same.

A subpar Halford is still in a league of his own. And personally I care more about the music than the stage acrobatics.
