Hopefully once Apple Pay and Android Pay are fully supported in Canada, we'll get the chip reader. I'm fully ready to throw my money at *your* direction when that happens.
I drive cab and my customers use square and some of their credit/debit cards have the chip and square still works ...so it seem square is trying a new way to get me and you to purchase a bigger clunky-looking device ... I think if it stops working I will just stop using square all together and they need to remember I did get "Capital" without using a big clunky-looking device!
Yeah, the magstripe only still works. But, if there is fraud on their account you have to cover the costs. Plus, they have a magstripe and EMV reader you can get for free.
