The thing about the Human Torch not being used in the "Fantastic Four" cartoon because kids might try to emulate him and set themselves on fire is a myth, partially promoted by the character of Johnny Storm saying as much in an issue of the comic book (the same issue that introduced H.E.R.B.I.E. to the actual Marvel Universe). The reality is that Human Torch was being optioned for another project that never reached fruition, so the rights for him were not available for the FF cartoon. Another TV-Marvel myth that isn't cartoon related and one that even Stan Lee was confused about is that Bruce Banner's first name was changed to "David" for "The Incredible Hulk" TV series because the network thought "Bruce" sounded too "gay". It was the 1970s, right? However, Kenneth Johnson, the man responsible for developing the show for TV, mentioned more than once (One of those times being in an article published in the "Hulk" magazine published by Marvel) that he personally changed the name because he disliked alliterative names. He found them to be too "comic booky". This is hilarious to me in light of the fact that the star of the show, Bill Bixby, had an alliterative name himself! Oh, and Johnson also wanted the Hulk to be red, saying that it's the color of anger. Stan Lee nixed that, though. Many years later, Marvel introduced a red Hulk. Hmmm.
I've always found Firestar and Spitfire's costumes to be almost identical. I haven't seen this cartoon in forever! I always remember the episode where they introduce the X-Men (in animated form) for the first time, and Wolverine had a friggin' Australian accent for some reason!?!

Best memories of Spidey, Firestar, and Iceman when I was a kid.
For sure!

Lol. It just have been a glitch in the matrix foreshadowing the casting of Aussie Hugh Jackman as Wolverine! WTH!?
