Loving the grimy sound! As soon as you showed how the three repitched drum parts sounded together it reminded me of Portishead's first album, especially "Pedestal", which uses two quite different sets of drums to great effect.
Thanks for the tips. I thought about getting a 202 just for pitching, but I recently got the Novation Circuit rhythm and it works great. The rhythm with the sp is a dope combo.
It depends what you mean by 'in a DAW' ? This is not a software orientated machine so it will be a case of hooking up cables and ensuring you have the correct inputs and outputs on your computer to be able to do it. This isn't something that will just plug and play with a computer and work like an outboard FX unit without some playing around
@@spvidzsorry for my english. It Is not my mother tongue. Can i use the sp 404sx how a midi Controller? I want to make Beats with the sp 404sx dawless and in logic pro x. Is it opportunity? Should i buy a midi Keyboard to make Beats in logic pro x? Thanks for your answer. I am a big fan from you and your Beats.
The SX only has midi in. I would suggest something like this if you are making a lot of beats on a computer. Great for playing samples and drums amzn.to/2VZpxAB
I always go for mono. It means more pads can be resampled. I think its pretty rare to have stereo drums especially in beat based music like lofi and hip-hop

Not listened to portishead for years! Will have to give them a spin again

No problem man and yeah its definitely worthwhile having something else that can re-pitch as generally speaking its shocking on the 404 lol
Highly recommend the PO-33 for pitching as well, especially since the pitch is chromatic. Adds the perfect amount of dirt too
Good shout yeah. I need to start using that more
@@spvidz damn Idk why i never thought of that. I have the po 33 and 133

Thanks for this. Everyone always says the pitch function isn't useable given the 202. It is just different and have different re-pitch effect.
Yeah you have to work with what you have! Thanks for watching

Thank you for the video, SP Vidz. Do you think Roland will address this pitching feature when they come out with their next model? Blessings!
Lets hope there is a new one and that they sort it!
ive been living like this for 21 yrs.
yo just bought an sp404sx thanks to you. does the headphone jack wobble a little bit or is it just my unit?
Maybe slightly yes. As long as you're getting a signal without crackle it should be good! Welcome to the gang!
I subbed to the channel just got my sp404a today 😬 where did u get the stand from?
welcome to the gang man! Its just a laptop stand off amazon. I'm pretty sure most laptop stands will work but here's the one I got - amzn.to/3izn8ov
@@spvidz thanks alot ur videos are great help!!!
🖤
Thanks for tuning in again! Appreciate all the comments!
Keep both sets of drums and keep exchanging the set and main sample in a beat. Like a back and forth.
Nice man yeah that could be a cool effect!
Hello Spvidz
Can i use the sp 404sx in a DAW?(ogic pro x)

hey man great video and idea-do you have any thoughts on drums in stereo vs. drums in mono? Just purely curious, I’m currently experimenting

@@spvidz agreed! Thank you man! This was my thinking the whole time
