Great review, but the death toll in the title is greatly underestimated!! Edit: My apologies, it’s extremely unfortunate that the grim reality is that the health ministry in Gaza is basically nonexistent now and we may never know the full death toll 😔
I wonder if besides hammering the point of thousands of innocent people dead the ending is a reference of Yanqui U.X.O LP version of a Bush sample looping with people cheering
That title still fucking blows my mind. They really said “no poetic bullshit this time. Just put it out there.” I bawled my eyes out when I realized what they did, with that non-title.
Over 10000 were kids, about 1400 were toddlers. That 40000+ figure doesn't include death by starvation and lack of healthcare, but only missiles and guns.
How is it debunked? Hamas spent billions of foreign aid building terror tunnels underneath Gaza. Whether you stand with Israel or not you can’t deny that if you call Israel genocidal you would be ignorant to not think Hamas is equally as genocidal (and much more public about it, go read their charters). War is a terrible thing and these civilian deaths can’t be justified of course but I wonder what you would’ve done different on October 7th? Remember those 1,500 people were civilians and they didn’t deserve to get raped (still) and killed. I hope you don’t just think it was a long time coming, that was the excuse for 9/11 as well, in reality the victims had nothing to do with it (same as innocent Palestinians).
Grey rubble - Green shoots is one of the most hauntingly beautiful songs I’ve ever heard. Up there with the material in Lift your skinny fists. Just goes to show, when the unbelievable musical talent these guys have is accompanied by an equally powerful emotion, a musical masterpiece is the result.

Even after this genocide ends, these peoples' lives have been utterly destroyed
I mean the US doesn't have an underground tunnel network all across the country used for terrorism and horrifically attacked a militarily superior neighbor in 100 year conflict. Still, yes the civilians have paid a horrific price that no one should.
@@fafolaw Please educate yourself on american imperialism; the only reason the US doesnt have an underground tunnel network is because they are the global hegemonic superpower and can do coups and terrorism in broad daylight.
Also your comment very much reads like youre excusing collective punishment, when you're saying that first sentence before mourning the price the people of Gaza had to pay. I hope that's not how you actually feel.
@@fafolaw please google the cause for Palestinian flight in 1948
No matter how this started (which for some reason people like to ignore it was started through the similar kind of migration that half the world still demonizes), israel has been in control after an ethnic cleansing for over 70 years, and now its happening again at full force.
@@AnthemUnanthemed I know about the Nakba, a lot more than you do probably, now you google 1929 Hebron massacre.
This conflict is not as black and white as you think, not even close.
@@louis3163 That's the only reason? lol so all the countries that are not "the global hegemonic superpower" which are 99% of them including the one I live in, have huge network of underground tunnels in civilians areas used for military purposes?
I'm not excusing collective punishment, but in IHL, there's something called "loss of protection".

This is such a serious album about such serious tragedies that the comment section known for edgy and unfunny jokes are respectful towards the album and Fantano, which is tragically appropriate. Ceasefire now and free Palestine.
Also, I highly recommend to listen to the untitled song that's the ending song on the vinyl. It's terrifying.

And thank you for everyone who never forgot them from your thoughts & prayers
that loop hit like a truck
My respect won for Fantano
Great review, but the death toll in the title is greatly underestimated!!
Edit: My apologies, it’s extremely unfortunate that the grim reality is that the health ministry in Gaza is basically nonexistent now and we may never know the full death toll 😔
@@rexplos1on its even more impactful when you think about how the statistics of the genocide (even when underestimated) have escalated since. 🇵🇸

The loop at 7:00 is powerful and haunting
PS. The estimated death toll by 100 American health care workers in Gaza is expected to be well over 120,000.
thank you for not mincing words about the Palestinian genocide. Free Palestine 🇵🇸
Coincidentally the runtime of this video is 10:07 (October 7th) I wonder how intentional that was.

That title still fucking blows my mind. They really said “no poetic bullshit this time. Just put it out there.”
I bawled my eyes out when I realized what they did, with that non-title.
Over 10000 were kids, about 1400 were toddlers.
That 40000+ figure doesn't include death by starvation and lack of healthcare, but only missiles and guns.
@@canalzinhathe human shields argument has been debunked several times. Stop justifying genocide weirdo.
@@canalzinhawhat was that nonsensical cacophony that you typed out? Be coherent

Thank you sincerely for speaking out when peace and justice are denied to so many
Reminder for everyone who may potentially show up and get mad at Fantano for talking about this:
Content creators can talk about whatever they want. Including politics. Especially with serious issues like this.
You’re not mad because he’s talking about politics and he’s “just a music reviewer.” You’re mad because you don’t want to admit that he’s talking about views that don’t align with yours. You’re saying he should “get back to talking about music” because you’re too closed minded to have an honest and open conversation even if it makes you uncomfortable. You’d rather plug your ears and pretend the issues aren’t present. But they are. You can pretend all you want, but you can’t escape the reality.
That being said, free Palestine, and I’m gonna reiterate what Macklemore has said: “fuck America.”
Do you live in America?
@@blastexxplayysyt3920Yeah i do. America is still bad. A Chatpile album and a Godspeed album all in the same month? I am so grateful. Both albums offer up a stark, dread filled, and deeply honest reflection on the world we endure.
Our short lives-our health, our well being, our hopes, our dreams, our dignity, our freedom, our youth-are being sacrificed to service the interests of the powerful.
Unite or die, we must collectively defend ourselves from the war waged against working people and the vulnerable by the capitalist class and the imperialist states.
