Overconfidence: The silent killer of English Speaking | Dr. Sandeep Patil

Many students who come to my institute are not ready to accept that they have poor English. They are over-confident in their Communication skills. This is called -The Dunning-Kruger effect. It is a cognitive bias (thinking errors) that causes people to overestimate their abilities or knowledge in a particular area (like English communication), even when they have limited competence. It was first described by David Dunning and Justin Kruger in 1999.
In this video, I have highlighted this phenomenon that usually occurs with my students.

! Wow Sir, It's about reality. Let me tell you my own story of english speaking, reading, writing, it took me almost 2year. Without any physical teacher, only by myself.
