Lucky me ! I heard his Guillaume Tell in Nice about 40 years ago ( with José van Dam & Lella Cuberli as partners !). The public became so enthusiastic (it's few to say) that he was "obliged" to sing this aria twice ! (in an opera of four hours !).👋
Lieber Chris, ganz großartig..BRAVO !! Alles gute zu Deinem Geburtstag !!! Es war eine schöne Zeit, damals in Salzburg..wir haben einiges zusammen gesungen !! Dein Klaus.
Great Chris Merritt! He only, in Pavarotti hometown could be able to have the great success he deserves. (If i think that he started singing as a bass...) Thank you Fabiantenor for posting.
FABIAN! I've been watching this over and over, then saw who posted it and thought, "I wonder who this Fabian tenor guy is." Then I looked at the other videos posted and saw YOU in the Otello scenes! Haha...so funny. Where in the world did you get this? I want more Christ Merritt stuff if you have it.
@@FABIANROBLESTenor Absolutely ! He used to give programs of one hour and a half completed with half an hour of encores, with all sorts of music covering four centuries. A great artist and an athlete of the voice.

I love Chris Merritt - I have this recital on disc, he's an animal!
Truly a voice of the century.

Thanks for posting! Do you know the date of this recital?
too many cuts
CoeliLux if you see the rest of the recital you would understand why the cuts. No tenor has ever done such an unhuman program!
