I’m pushing 60 I lived through it. There’s never been another great designer as Halston. Still have a bottle of his famous men’s cologne that beautiful brown little bottle. Cheers Montreal 🇨🇦
I was a child in the seventies and eightees so I really didn't pay much attention to fashion lol. However in 1988 I was a senior in high school and was into art and I was fascinated with Andy Warhol so my mom knowing this got me a book for Christmas that year called The Diaries of Andy Warhol and so through his diaries I got to know Halston. So this past weekend I saw a TV special on CNN about Halston and was excited to see the previews of this special. So long story short I felt that through Andy Warhol Halston also in a spiritual way became a friend of mine as well and Liza Minnelli of course.❤️
Damn that just beautiful. Well said. The world doesn’t have amazing men like Halston anymore. Everything is so P.C and all about money money No style and very boring. I thank God that I lived through it and still have a bottle of men’s cologne obviously by Halston. Cheers 🇨🇦
Same. Was a total fave. He defined the era and my youth. I so wish a perfumery would rerelease in same iconic bottle. It would stand the test of time with both original and new women loving it as much as they did then. Found a few vintage bottles online some with fragrance. Took me back to such fun times. Feel a need to celebrate Halston because his life ended sadly for such an icon. Hope he knows on some level how adored he is to this day ❤️
Absolutely wonderful. Thank you so very much. “Only connect”! I've been doing some research and on the 'plague years' ... remembering the losses... counting the Gifts. "Only connect." One name opens a window. Another opens a door. How did I get from Nureyev to Paul Taylor to Halston? Well here I stumbled and into such marvelous company. As usual the most friendly spirit of Liza is here to greet. How wonderful. Thank you so very much. Waht a poignant, delightful, tribute.
I love the Family Portrait of his Brothers and Sister. They look like a Upper Middle Class Ivy League Family yet they were Middle Class. So Sophisticated nevertheless.
Back then people always had a nice outfit-at least one-for weddings, funerals and church…and in my old neighborhood for court. Seriously, clothes lasted longer and unless you were really wealthy, people didn’t buy new wardrobes every year like now. Hell, until the late 90’s, I could still buy some clothes made in the USA.
Over the years his name also was featured in Bestselling Books. Jacqueline Sussan's The Love Machine, Jackie Collins in Chances, as well as Terry McMillan's Waiting To Exhale.
Ha! Ha! What I loved about him is that he kicked the Door Open for African American Models. Pat Cleveland who is now a successful Fashion Consultant for African American Magazines like Ebony & Essence and Iman who got her start working for him. His Townhouse in Manhattan is now worth 28 Million but nobody wants to buy it, it's too outdated by today's standards.
@@laminage I believe the high end market in New York is bloated with unsold properties. The market is soft. How much can the market accommodate ugly glasses hard surfaced boxes. There’s no more style. There’s haven’t been any great American designer since Halston left us. Happy memorial WE.
9 years later, thanks for posting this. Great job!

This is how I remember Liza ❤️giving tribute to her pal Halston
I've worn the original Halston perfume since it was introduced in the 1970's. I will wear no other perfume. Love you Halston.
Girlfriend! You should try Kim Kardashian perfume...
@@damianrhea8875 Gurl, you need to try Glo by Jennifer Lopez...

He was dashing and had the most beautiful classy women around him
Love Liza!

@@winebox You are so right on about that. In The African American Community you always dressed well on Sundays for Church.

New York LGBT 🌺 LIZA 💋🙌
Did you know that his Mother's Maiden name was Holmes. Wouldn't it be something if it were discovered that he's a distant relative of Katie Holmes.
Or Sherlock.

Stuart Lee, British comedian? Just a guess, but I think no relation to Bernie.
I love watch Halston in NETFLIX!!
I looked it up - he is Not At All related to the Ponzi Fraudster who died in jail!
