As a mom of an 11 year kid in the Philippines with overflowing passion for the sport and MLB dreams, this docu made my hair stand up. I am praying the timing is right and my son's dreams come true. Thank you for the video.

summer here in the Philippines is between march and may, rainy season here is june and july at its peak where its summer in the northern hemisphere.
"summers here in SEA region is wet" is true in southern part of SEA like Indonesia, but the northern parts like the Philippines and Mainland SEA is humid during march to may, reaching 34-40 degress celsius.
about baseball here in the Philippines, if we have a domestic league, it will began at November and ends in May where it rain less and I suggests that it have a pro/rel system.

I love baseball! I was born in the Philippines and moved to the US in my early 20s. But I played baseball since elementary, playing the game with shared to no equipment and sometimes bare-foot. It was very organic but it was fun. It's where I developed my love of baseball. Today, I go to the game 6-8 times a year to see the Dodgers with my daughters and I have never missed any of the 162 games played every season on tv live or encore.

I really wish Baseball would boom here in the Philippines. Along with Boxing, it's my favorite sport by far.
But I'm not too optimistic it will regain the popularity it deserves. At least not until it's publicly advertised and broadcasted.

You know Manny Pacquiao is a baseball fan, maybe if he talks about it more he may give some attention to the sport in the PI.

The real reason why Baseball in the Philippines was fade away or vanish its because the FAILURE of DepEd to introduce and promulgate the sport into the SCHOOLS and various COMMUNITIES. Games and Amusement Board has also FAILED in the promulgation of baseball. With the POOR LEADERSHIP SKILLS and CORRUPTION of José "Peping" Sumulong Cojuangco Jr. to make Baseball popular just like the old times. HE did NOTHING in the sport of BASEBALL. No Major improvements or developments. The current Chairman of Games and Amusement Board (GAB) Abraham Kahlil Mitra HAS DONE NOTHING the the sport of BASEBALL. These public officials had done nothing and only do corruption.
Second I want to highlight is NO MAJOR EXPOSURE of Baseball in the PHILIPPINE MEDIA. With the CORRUPT MEDIA like ABS-CBN , TV5 and ONE SPORT. Those corrupt media FAILED to BROADCAST, MARKET and POPULARIZE the sport of BASEBALL. GMA NETWORK, and PTV (People's Television Network) did nothing about baseball. They did not even BROADCAST one season of Professional Baseball. The Philippine Media has FAILED and WILL ALWAYS BEEN FAILURE.
Unlike in Japan, South Korea or Taiwan were Major Companies helps to promulgate Baseball and make it popular. In the Philippines, giant companies like SM Supermalls, Robinson, Ayala, Corporation, Smart Communication and others DID NOT CONTRIBUTE a single thing nor make a major move to make baseball popular. These major companies only care about their money, they don't like to help and contribute to the community of baseball here in the Philippines.
The Philippine Government have FAILED in Developing INDOOR BASEBALL STADIUMS / BASEBALL PARKS. Unlike in Japan. USA, South Korea or Canada. They have good quality Baseball Stadiums. The country of Philippines has NONE. The Philippines did not priorities BASEBALL, so they don't like to spend money in the development of baseball in the country. If the 15 BILLION PESO that was being CORRUPTED BY THE PHILHEALTH OFFICIALS was CONVERTED IN TO A BASEBALL STADIUM, that would be productive. But the Philippine Government Officials are full of corruption and they don't love baseball. That's really frustrating as a Baseball fan.
Lastly that I would like to highlight is the CORRUPT PRIVATE PERSONALITIES like Mr. Eugenio Lopez III and Mr. Manuel V. Pangilinan. They have Billions of Cash in their pocket yet these people don't FUND the PHILIPPINE BASEBALL. What they are doing is only corruption and making money.
Currently, Philippine Baseball needs money to promulgate and become popular in the country. Philippine Baseball needs huge amount of cash to have excellent baseball players for their development and hopefully represent the country and playing in the Major Leagues. Philippine Baseball needs MARKETING and EXPOSURE in the PHILIPPINE MEDIA and it needs an INDOOR BASEBALL STADIUM for their home games.

@@limbill8914 Don’t change the narrative here. I am pointing out why Baseball Vanished here in the Philippines. *DepEd FAILED* to *Promulgate* the Sport, plain and simple.
It is a fact that Educational Institutions in the Philippines promulgates Basketball over Baseball and that is why DepEd should take the blame.

    • @donniebrasco99

The Philippines was a baseball powerhouse in Asia before the 70s. Maybe you just dont know the history of baseball in the Philippines. Did you even watch the video attentively? The narrator mentioned the winning record of the Philippines during its heyday. It was part of the Big 4 in Asia. Geez.

    • @nickPelz
      @nickPelz 7 днів тому

@donniebrasco99 actually I know the international history baseball quite well and I've never heard too much about the Philippines although it was popular in for a long time because Philippines was a American colony and we had all the military personnel over there that played. And yes I watched the video attentively but I like to think for myself. And then saying you're the big four in Asia is not saying much because there's only about four countries that play baseball there is much. Japan South Korea Taiwan and you and now China more than you. Like I said it was bigger in the past in the Philippines and it's starting to rebound now. But I guess you're not going to be happy till I tell you that the Philippines is like the Dominican Republic or something in baseball

We definitely need to start tournaments in order to spur interest. Major corporations should fund the development of the sport by providing equipment and uniforms.
