I loved this show growing up. I was so thrilled when soapnet was on and showing reruns I really wish someone would stream the soaps that are no longer on the air
I was a fan of Ryan's Hope. Sometimes I would play hookie to watch it and then the VCR was created so I didn't have to! Watching these clips brings back a time of innocence for me. thanks to everybody who posted them. So far my favorite is when Mary and Jack where locked in the basement.
these two are the reason I watched this show,re[igiously. Mary & 'JACK played by these two.and only these two. loved this show. all the actors, but especially MARY and JACK.
I became a fan of Kate's work on Orange is the New Black and I have been going down the Kate Mulgrew rabbit hole, 😄. I was not even born when this show was on, however I started to watch it on UA-cam after reading Kate's book Born With Teeth, and I am like OMG Kate Mulgrew was so good on this show. I am still stunned she was not freaking given a Daytime Emmy, hell she should have gotten one for this episode alone. That line "I want to hit you, I want to hit you so bad my teeth hurts", has to be the best line ever said on Daytime TV. Kate Mulgrew was really good for being so young, love her.
I watched RH from Day One to the bitter end. Kate Mulgrew was the only Mary as far as I was concerned. All the replacements were bad imitations to me. None of them had the chemistry with Michael Levin that Kate did.
Thanks a million for uploading this.. I watched Ryans Hope from it's debut way back, warmed up to the Irish family right away, and yes, even dizzy head Delia. The show was fantastic and a great lead in to All my Children. ... Oh! Erica !!
@@noobzrule Ryan’s Hope went off in January of 1989, I wasn’t born until 10 months later. So that makes me 31. Don’t assume, until you know. You already made an ass out of yourself once.
lol - Maeve says early on in the planning stage that "they'll have everything they need down there". So I assume there was a tiny bathroom off to the side.
Sorry. Maeve is slick. Man. Like a thug. Man. She is beloved by all and locking in the basement was so simple to do. But she is very wise in matters of the heart And she is all, I told you when confronted by Johnny, knowing many husbands don’t listen to a lot of things
The actress that played Maeve, did she really have that irsh acent in real life? SHe's very good at it if not and she never lost that acent through out the series either.
I don't think that was her real accent, however, she *was* of Irish descent. Helen Gallagher, was her name. So, it's entirely possible that the accent was just extremely familiar and present in her life, so much so she could reproduce it perfectly
Daniel Hugh Kelly defined Frank Ryan: He really zoned in on the balance of "a great man with flaws" - you could still root for him even when he failed. Geoffrey Pierson was good, though he lacked that vulnerability - he simply came off as an arrogant jerk. John Sanderford, the last and longest Frank, was excellent - very similar to DHK, and very quickly making the role his own. All 3 were fortunate to have great chemistry with Nancy Addison's Jillian.

OMG....I skipped law school classes to watch this week of Jack and Mary in basement.
It's nice to see that Garak finally found a good Holodeck program
Ryan hope was the best soap opera

Kate Mulgrew was the only Mary Ryan Fenelli as far as I was concerned. And I loved Jumbo!!!
Loved mulgrews acting here...levin at times in these basement scenes went over the top
"Who was I changing you into then? The Captain?" 49:25 How ironic. lol
I love these scenes. Thanks for sharing with us.
Yes, thank you very much for posting!
Shades of my early teen years!
Really good performances.
Excellent writing!
Wonderful soap opera!
I love the 70's the music the fashion's
Wow great overall acting quality. I see Captain Janeway in the making from Kate Mulgrew.
Ryan’s hope was my favorite soap, will they ever repeat it on tv. My mother calls it the poor peoples soap opera.
It really is, look at the sets not glamorous and the characters not all were rich.

I was 11 in 1977 my parents were living grandparents aunt's uncle's cousins they all gone just my son and me who is 33
Your actually closer to 50....not 33 but u failed math as a dropout 🤦
@@noobzrule Failed indeed if they were 11 in 1977 that means they were born 1966, that means in 2020 you’re 54.
@@a.b.sproductionsllc 20s so i couldn't had watch Ryan's Hope when it started unlike you as an elder from being able to figure out people's ages 🤣😹😂

I'm about 35min in and all I can think about is...
Do neither of these two have to pee?!
🤣

soon after this mary was killed off it was so sad...i luved nancy addison2 she died from cancer 20 yrs ago rip nancy...addison...
it was over a year later - they recast Mary twice before finally giving up and admitting that only Kate could really play Mary.

No. It's not her real voice. It is a great accent though.
WTF?!
After all, Faith was locked up by that creep Kenneth - what potshot therapy!
(Immersion therapy)
What Jack and Mary needed was a Third Party Arbitrator ..... with a Big Club!!!!!!
Capt Janeway and Garek, sibs!!
43:07 “Maquis woman?”
McKee. A reporter named Martha McKee who was a recurring character.
Soooo let me get this straight...susan lucci nominated a gazillion times and kate mulgrew not once?? ...emmys a political joke!!
Susan Lucci was very pretty but not that great of an actress. Just average.
Kate was finally nominated for Orange is the New Black. But you're right, she was never nominated for her daytime work.
Oh I don’t like this Frank. He’s a good actor but he’s not a leading man type.
