I love playing Clarke’s trumpet voluntary as well as Dvorak IX (I like Mvt II the best but I love IV as well). I’m an oboist and I’ve found that the oboe and trumpet are in some ways very similar

Good playing; if you want to get that faster part going in carnival of Venice (I was disappointed you didn’t play that part) I would suggest having a more natural curve to the hand, maybe even letting your pinky rest on top of the u bracket thing instead of in it, because your hand is very tense and that makes it more injury prone, plus you will find it harder to play fast. I can tell it’s tense by the curvature, the awkward pinky, the visual muscle tension, and the fact that you raise your fingers pretty high off a lot of notes. It’s a lot easier to keep them on the keys, or close.
Tbf, the faster part is from a theme and variations on A Carnival of Venice. That piece didn't come until the early 1900s. The original tune was written in the 1860s.

2:16 Both my favorite symphonies right after each other! Listen to Mahler 5th, the first Minute is just the trumpet solo and it get's really good.
And Dvorak's 9th is the best symphony to listen to. But it's actually in e-minor (concert pitch).

Nice choices, but you completely skipped over the Big Band Trumpeters! Bix Beiderbecke, Bunny Berrigan, Harry James, et al -- some of the finest players ever! Louis Armstrong was a great choice, but it would've been nice to maybe pick less really modern stuff and add some from the great Musical Era of Big Bands! Thanks!

What an awesome video, great playing! I am just curious about the earlier music that uses the valves; I thought the valves weren’t invented until the early 19th century, how does trumpet music from that era require it?

Yo could you do a easy song video but show the fingerings please, I'm still new to trumpet and band within its self so it would be really nice to see what I have to do, you could even put the sheet music under it so we can refer to it, also do it a bit slower. Great stuff! Doesn't feel like evolution to me though. It's just trumpet music at different points in time. The elements of a majority are quite similar.
Inaccurate but entertaining. In order to play the stuff before keys or valves were introduced, it would have to be up at least one octave from where you’re playing it. That said, fine playing!
Or a longer trumpet with a small mouthpiece.
