3:45 best trumpet ive ever herd lol
Lol
Haha yeah
Your name and profile doh 😂😂😂
😂😂😂 LMAO IKR
Creeper Universe You just agree with yourself?
Awesome, a tuba you can smuggle through a metal detector frame.
svofski good luck having the security guards look at that and be like "What the hell is that?"
it's got stainless steel valves ya dumb dumb
“Smuggle” well I’m not too sure about that
Hey comments r/woooosh
Whats the point of smuggling an instrument. U can just bring it in its case. Its not like a weapon😂😂🤦♂️ur stupid
0:25 "Plastic is fantastic"
Make that the advertising slogan for these lol
+archstanton lmao
Come on guys, get with the String Thing
BAREFOOTBANJO chum is fun
Barefoot 'Bonist what makes me irritated is that he is puffing his cheecks
Kim follows that slogan too
instruments without the traditional colors just don't seem right to me, but I'm 81.
They make them in silver or brass colors also.
I agree Roy and I'm 13
They are meant for kids so they have friendly colors
I hope that you are now 83!
ooga booga
these would be really neat for playing in winter outdoor sports bands - no more "stuck! Stuck! My LIPS!"
***** whoa! gargle with WD-40 - unfreezes locks, etc.
Oh marching band... I play flute and when it rains or snows, we were always told to hold low c to keep out the water.
+shay ford Lip to mouthpiece... "stuck -- STUUUCK!!!"
Tom Pauls we cut the fingers of our gloves and I have been stuck to my keys quite often. But yeah I see the problem there. My friends mouths has started bleeding from that before
+Tom Pauls Instead of your valves/slides freezing, the instrument shatters. It's happened to me before.
If I still played trombone I would definitely get one of these as both a practice instrument and for informal outdoor performances. I hated the amount of money I spent getting the dents in the slide repaired! I'd still use the nice brass King for formal concerts, but I'd bet the money saved on klutz-related repairs would make a plastic horn pay for itself within three months. But the best part? I could get it in black and paint some bitchin' hot rod flames on it!
Christopher C. Very true
It's been two years, please tell me you got a plastic trombone and painted some bitchin' hot rod flames on it
it also has the F attachment
Imagine the cost having to buy a new plastic trombone after the weather makes it strip away not to mention if you break it
You have just convinced me to buy that plastic tuba. Imma draw some bitchin clowns on mine
Man I am surprised at the sound you are getting. I never expected a sound like that from a plastic instrument.
Lurker1979 oh the p bone works well, also!
The man has chops and the ability to adapt to a different instrument well.
After listening a few times, I do hear that weird plastic-y sound that kid's instruments also have. Or the sound that happens when there's too much friction in a plastic tube slide, ouch
But it IS still amazing. Especially if you consider that these are much lighter than a big hunk of metal
"as trombonists we know how it feels down there.. it can be a bit messy"
that's what happens when you're doing it in seven positions
( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
trombones i think are easier than the tuba because it has a slide
Emren Akdamar pojmcokmñlkjmmnbchl
My water key fell off
Low brass makes everything sound great.❤ i love the tone of the trombone
His laugh after playing the trombone was the cutest thing ever

I bought one of the first Tiger tubas; I ordered it directly from the Chinese factory, not through a distributor, and they said I was their first customer in America (although some had been sold at music trade shows, and they could not track where those customer were from). I played it a lot, in all sorts of ensembles, and it really does work quite well, blows nicely, is as in-tune as any other tuba I have experience with, and the other musicians and conductors I have played with were happy with its sound.
But I rarely play it anymore, for one simple reason. Keeping the valves working freely is a bit of a chore. The aluminum rotors inside the brass valve casings react metallurgically with each other, gradually slowing the valves down to a crawl. To get them working again requires complete disassembly of the valves, thorough cleaning, and re-lubrication.
The other issue with them is that, due to the rather loosely packed wraps of the tubing, the tuba is considerably deeper, front to rear, than any other 'German rotary' tuba design in CC/BBb size. The tuba has to sit more forward on the player's lap than I find comfortable, and I am constantly conscious of some tubing jabbing me in the belly.
These days, I usually just play it for a couple gigs every year, where I am expected to play it outdoors for Christmas-related programs. Compared to a brass tuba, this Tiger tuba is a joy to play in such situations. The air inside the tubing stays warmer for longer, so it stays in tube better in the cold, and also does not condense as much water from the breath, so it does not get into the 'frequent gurgle' scenario. It never feels cold to the touch like brass tubas do. The valves do not freeze up. To me, it is worth the minimal cost to have such an instrument in my arsenal for such extreme playing situations.
A good thing to do with this instrument, if it will be used only on occasion, MIGHT be to store it with the valve rotors removed and stored in a box, then just put in before playing and removed again afterwards. Then, there is no need for deep, laborious cleaning to remove the results of galvanic reaction (between aluminum and brass). Just squirt a bit of valve oil on and re-assemble before playing.
Since it appears that this same instrument is now being marketed under the "Cool Wind" name, I wonder if they might now be using more compatible metals in the valves?
How long has Aaron Rogers been playing trombone?
LanceCampeau and
I thought the same thing😂😂
angelo santos ???
Lance?
LanceCampeau d
For kids or people that want to just play to play that would be fun, the sound of the tuba was actually pretty pure sounding, I believe the room and acoustics of the room wasn't in the tubas favor for a video, but as for total sound it was really well laid out for a plastic tuba, the trombone was the best plastic I have heard out of any instrument and the room was in favor of that one for a video, could only imagine what it sounded in person, awesome stuff guys.
0:44 when I actually pass the test
I liked the presentation of these plastic instruments. They must be very light, they must be well tuned. Very cool. Congratulations to those who had this idea of building them.
"trombonist know how it feels down there, and it can get real messy down there"
lol😂
I would have no trust in a plastic tuba. The instrument is hugely based on resonance, and plastic just doesn't sound the same to me.
SpectacularName well at $1400 vs $5000 for a low end brass instrument, it's still definitely going to fill an important niche.
You aren't wrong. If someone is serious about tuba, this isn't for them. Otherwise, I guess it's an okay starter.
+ SpectacularName I' m going to (hopefully) be starting tuba soon (I'm 12 BTW) and do you think it would be more worth it to get one of these tubas or spend a couple grand more and get a metal one?
Cole Drinkwater There are several factors worth considering. How serious are you about getting into tuba? If you want to play it just for school, rent one. If this is your life's passion (which I doubt you could know), invest more. If you really must own one and aren't super serious about tuba/don't want to spend enough on a serious tuba, this might be the thing for you. I suggest that you talk to your teacher (assuming you have one) about what he or she recommends for a beginner.
Cole Drinkwater if you're just starting, ask the school if you can rent. It is better to try around and make sure the instrument fits you. If you absolutely have to buy a tuba then go with metal. But a good brand..
Playing "all about that bass" on the tuba lol
All about that brass 😂😂
I want a plastic tuba...I marched a sousaphone made out of some light weight non metal STUFF back in high school and it was amazing not being crushed under all that weight...barely felt it and it sounded great!
Gostei da apresentação desses instrumentos de plástico. Eles devem ser muito leves, devem estar bem afinados. Muito legal. Parabéns aos que tiveram essa ideia de fazê-los.
They are like very high quality toys
plastic for a brass instrument?...does that kind of defy the word,"Brass"?
My thoughts exactly.
Everyone is thinking that XD
XD
I'm all for having an option for people who want to play a brass instrument but couldn't otherwise afford it.
I wouldn't mind of the Tuba I use was lighter. I play in a school band and "my" tuba is school property
This is so cool. All the instruments on the market right now that are made to be affordable for everyone . I love it with music sales down it’s amazing to see companies figuring out how to make them cheaper.
Does the tuba
Dent?
It probably does.
then that ruins it
i know, i play the tuba nut i wanted to know if you like set it down too hard or something, but thanks!
TM6624 That's why tuning slides were made. Every little dent makes the instrument a tiny bit smaller and therefore a little bit more sharp. Extending the tuning slides make it more flat to even all the sharpness out with the flatness.
I don't
know
as a trombone player myself, I actually like the trombone, I mean, it sounds so smooth and the slide looks nice also.
all about that bass
Your comment is the first i saw that mention that song
+classic Sonic The Hedgehog
cool
I don't play any instruments, but I can really appreciate the idea of making them less expensive so that more people can get into them. My high school had to choose between art and music classes because we had a tight budget, and since art is more accessible they went with that.
he’s a liar i looked it up they are over a geand
プラスチックでもいいからトロンボーン吹いてみたいなー
These are the best plastic horns I’ve ever heard
Hey, any chance you could lend me one to review?
Trent Hamilton I sorta expected you here yet not
Lol same
ive been in band for five years and that sounds nice like no kidding
Aaron Rodgers is a good brass player...damn.
OMG ITS AARON RODGERS
Ethan Hayden THATS WHAT I WAS THINKING😂😂
Ethan Hayden no that's Tyrol taylor
the kings of pi It's Aaron Rodgers
Sorry, but who's Aaron Rodgers?
Svensk Gamer QB for the Green Bay packers
The technology is amazing. I never thought of making an instrument with plastic.
THERE NEEDS TO BE A PLASTIC FRENCH HORN!!! UGHHHH
You know you wrote that out loud. LOL
+VeryClicheOfYou oh I was just thinking that you really did not want people to know you actually thought that and just let it slip. lol
+Camden MacIver hi Camden. What are you going on about?
The Trumpet Boy lol
Itd sound horrible with all those tuning slides
The best Bb tuba you've ever played, you must have not played that many tubas then.
Sir, I think theres a balloon in your tuba
There is a girls butt also! 😀🎵🎵🙎
@@HLOFloZ Lol vibrating it loll
I mean there's no replacing metal for brass instruments, sound-wise, but these would be great practice tools
HE PUFFED HIS CHEEKS ON THE TROMBONE. SINNER.
Will make it more affordable for individuals and schools; the colors are neat too!
2:13 Massive sound is not at all always a good thing
I'm a senior tuba player in my band, I think I know what its supposed to sound like. Just because the tuba's sound can be massive doesn't mean you play like that. It has to be musical. You can't overpower a melody.
Be more specific next time you say a comment, please. I understand what you're saying now
+CyberClaws Graphics my judges just looked for massive sound , clear strong sound. The notes and all else mere not as important . Idk i guess it all depends on the judge
+PixlSwift I know a place in Phoenix that sells these, or very similar, instruments. They have several colors of trombone in stock. I was looking at them just the other day and wondering if someone had put them up on UA-cam.
in marching band it is in concert band no
My music department in school has started buying these trombones cause of there weight! The small 7-9 year olds can now actually hold up there trombone and play it! Also a big blue or pink trombone looks very appealing and fun to small children!!!
U don't puff your cheeks when u play a tuba or any instrument. That's the first thing u learn when u learn to play an instrument. 😎
Alan Baer puffs his cheeks like a chipmunk but he is the principle tuba of the New York Philharmonic.
My thoughts exactly original commentator
Puffing out your cheeks is a waste of air but you can do some things better with your cheeks puffed out
Yeah, like the really low notes.
Exzactly
i play 3 instruments, one of them being trombone, and it sounded amazing for plastic trombone at least!
as a tuba player, I can say that either his playing, the tuba, or both really sucked
I think it's the tuba because i believe that a plastic instrument cannot sound as nice and rich as a brass instrument
I believe so too
well it could be the fact that his mouth is shaped for a trombone/baritone mouthpiece because im a baritone and sound like crap on the tuba
frank lu I (obviously) play trumpet and have played a baritone before to try it out and it sounded alright, but not as good as someone who plays it
Rebecca Saluska or it could be his poor embouchure because I play the tuba and learned not to puff out my cheeks
This video really helped me I'm currently looking for a tuba (for my self) and I saw these and they looked good but this really helped me put it on the consideration list.
I'm not going to tell you not to get a plastic instrument but I am going to tell you that you are not allowed to play it for any sort of performance.
Roberts Rubezis And your point is?
1. It doesn't promote a professional performance.
2. It's super hard to tune them.
They are mean't for student and kids who might not be able to handle a regular brass tuba or trombone, but still want to learn to play. Or for people who don't want to drop the money on a tuba/trombone just yet.
I play Bari sax, and those run into the 5000 range for just a fairly solid one. I can only imagine what a full sized tuba costs.
I think that it can be fun if used in certain shows, and to say that "well it doesn't look like a traditional tuba/trombone, so don't play it in front of people" is a bit elitist and kind of anti-fun.
Pliny the Younger they are helpful for practicing
Lucky Lucas Or they are for students who want maybe a horn for marching or for basketball and football games.
I want them. I want them all.
That random laugh at 00:42
The trombone has the Argentina colors. Good for the next World Cup!!
Intro song name ?
"I'm Getting Sentimental Over You". But I don't know the performer.
トロンボーンの低音が綺麗...
部内でこういう音出せる人居ないんだよな〜
What about plastic French horn?
Currently the company that makes these plastic instruments does not have a plastic French horn, however they do have plans to make them in the near future :3
Ryan Calkins they have one now
***** There is already a demo video about the plastic french horn?
Seriously I hate how all musicians are so critical of each other. It really takes the fun out of it...
I told my band director I was going to get a tiger french horn😂😂
Played all about that bass at a pep rally at school today
It seems like a plastic instrument would require more mantinence and be more prone to breaking than a metal one.
I wish that they still made these. :,(
He over puffs his cheeks on both instruments
he played the song all about that bass of tuba
Doesn't trombone notes go higher as the slide extends no lower
TUNA IS HERE No it gets lower.
Lewis Co. but 4th position d is higher then 1st position b-flat
TUNA IS HERE It depends on what you do, you can go higher but that involves adjusting you mouth. If you don't adjust your mouth and just extend the slide you will only go lower. (There are things called alternet positions)
It really depends. If you play with the sane eombrasure or whatever its lower. If you tighten you get HiGhEr. ItS HARD TO EXPLAIN BUT IN SHIRT NO
That 4th position d is lower than the 1st position f. The 4th position g is lower than the 1st position b flat.
If you notice with the bugle that the military uses, there are no valves or slide positions - notes change through "tightness" of your lips. Thus you can play the cavalry charge or taps.
This would be great for students to practice on at home, but use a school one for performances. I imagine they are quite cheeper.
He must have some short arms to be barley able to reach 7th position
Yeah he does ,but he doesn't even play a brass instrument
When did he say he couldn't reach 7th position?
+Cardenal Collins *barely (barley is what they make beer out of)
2:29 OH GOD NOT THIS SOUND 😂😂😂 FUCK MY LIFE 😂🔫
00:43 0-o
the tuba sounded surprisingly good in low range, better than i was expecting from a plastic tuba. the middle and high range was kinda bad tho lol
Sorry, they still sound like plastic to me. Granted, I think these would be great for beginners, but that tuba sounds horrible. (or maybe it's just cause you're a trombonist. ;) )
Probably so
The tuba is probably better than you give it credit for, the recording is usually what gives instruments awful sound, I would tend to blame low audio quality.
The main reason for the plastic sound is the plastic mouthpiece. Look up tiger plastic trombone on UA-cam and the first video, he uses a metal mouthpiece and it sound just shy of a full brass instrument.
It isn't the recording making the instruments sound awful it's because plastic instruments are terrible. You don't get the same color as an instrument made of actual brass.
The tuba sounds a little too high to be a BBb tuba.
Amazing advance technology..i like plastic trombone..
No puffing cheeks
To play low notes, cheek puffing is actually quite necessary
not really, i play trombone and its quite easy to hit low notes without puffing
+Max Burger-Roy It's not necessary...just a bad habit for some that can be hard to get rid of.
+ConnieVetTech I always like to think that as long as you keep your tone quality, puffing the cheeks is completely alright. Maybe its different for a brass (Plastic?), but for the saxophone family, its fine.
+William Cawthra As a Tuba player, I was taught that the correct technique was with no puffing of the cheeks. I also thought it made no difference, but I tried with puffing, and surprisingly, I get less air that way. To each his own though :)
I didn’t know floating arms and a head could play plastic trombone and tuba!
ua-cam.com/video/YkCLVsyg-Nc/v-deo.html
y is he puffing his cheeks
he sucks
Puffing cheeks isn't necessarily bad
have you ever seen dizzy Gillespie? He was one of the best trumpet players ever and he puffed his cheek alot.
But that was trumpet and his mouth around the mouthpiece was firm and shaped, a tuba player shouldn't puff their cheeks because of just how large the mouthpiece is.
+Alex Mueth he said he wished he learned to tongue his notes correctly I play trumpet and it's a little painful to puff your cheeks out.
your really good at the tuba
I want that tuba
same but I want it in green lol
Mariangiongiangela's Tech Tips
AliEn CulT I want it black
Nikola Tesla I want the TUBA RED!
Is the tuba 5/4 or 4/4?
I play tuba and I was getting really mad and ticked off when he was puffing his cheeks
Ya he's old
The trombone sounded great. The double B flat (??) seemed to have a bit of a razz, more noticeable with the lower notes. Considering the cost of the larger brass instruments the plastic alternative may put smaller bands in the position of getting better instruments, albeit plastic.
日本人おるかー!
That laugh! 0:42 Great Guy!
FLATTEN YOUR CHEEKS PLEASEEEE
Love his laugh at 0:44
I'm 12 and I don't puff my cheeks, even though I play trumpet, and your an adult and you puff your cheeks. That's REALLY bad
Your really dumb
Cameron Jackson actually, you're not very intelligent either, because it is you're not your.
Cameron Jackson Why am I the one being called stupid, when I know what mistakes The UA-camr at the begging of the video is making, in plus I get to go to London to perform a concert at Wigmore Hall with my band, your probably the one who's stupid because you have no idea what I'm talking about, stupid(Cameron Jackson)As a 12 year old playing a professional Trumpet 😂🎺👌
DerpKrazy good luck at your concert man
DerpKrazy Your not wrong, but low brass players do puff their cheeks. Even some professionals. Everyone is different, but when it comes to high brass, puffing your cheeks is a no no.
2:12 Holy shit i was playing that piece a few hours ago
the tuba sounds horrible
I think it was just his playing
CodeRed 101 ?
Pedro Picasso sounds pretty ok for a plastic tuba
No, the tuba sounds fine. It's his performance that sounds terrible.
The player just sucks
So, what’s the weight difference between this plastic instruments and their brass counterparts?
RIP me
Died from this bad tone quality
2k19
"this hand downs feels the very best of all trombones"
Sound good; looks very bright and shinny;I have wondered about plastic instruments and how they stack up to the bacteria resistance of Brass? Any idea? Or, is the high disease resistance of brass and wood a myth?
Disease resistance in brass instruments is a myth. There was a story a couple of years ago (2010) about a trombone that was actually carrying bacteria and mold and getting its owner, a doctor, sick. He figured it out when he went on vacation without it and felt better after only a few days. You should be able to find it with a basic Google search. Gotta keep instruments clean.
you look like Aaron Rodgers
For a guy like me that's really only looking to mess around and annoy the wife, the tuba seems really cool for the price.
yikes...his embouchure...
I see all these comments about how you should never get one and stuff like that, but right now I'm saving up 5500 dollars for an intermediate level tuba (that's actually really good for that price) so if this is much cheaper (probably a couple hundred but I haven't checked yet) then it's probably worth just to keep around the house and practice.
the tuba sounded like shit
Lachy MacKenzie the tuba does sound like shit
I have 4 complaints about the tuba as a tuba player of 6 years with experience from beginner to being in a full orchestra, 1.) The instrument seems awkward to hold/actively tune, 2.) the instrument sounds like it has a bad transition noise in between notes (compensation and slurs/glissing properly sound to be an issue), 3.) the higher register sounds to be very pushed out with the embouchure (could be you) but it sounds to have an issue past what I would comfortably put as an F directly under the top of the staff, 4.) The sound is "blurty" like that of a sousaphone, which is completely impractical for holding steady pitches.
God damn stop puffing your cheeks
theCastem Plays I know right, it bothers me so much
I have a p bone by Higgs, and my school is looking into buying many of them in colored edition. I like it about as much as my brass one 👍
Stop puffing cheeks
I wonder what a plastic clarinet is like id try it because I play the clarinet
0:42 = really serious
0:44 = *goofy giggles* hahahahaha!
Excellent. Now I just need to find somewhere in the UK to buy a plastic tuba from. Need it for a costume. No I'm not joking. I do musical cosplay. I've done trumpetpool which is my main costume but I want to do tubapool.
