I love making videos and this one was fantastic, as well as very informative! Thanks for putting this together. It really helped my purchasing decision.
Thanks for the video review! I bought the Camelbaks based on your review for my tiny 4 & 8 year olds and they’re working out great except for the daily cleaning I hadn’t accounted for. And sure enough one bite valve is already tearing after just 3 excursions, but I was glad to know in advance that it would happen.
Empty and chuck any hydration bladder in the freezer between uses to prevent growth of bacteria or mold. Periodically sterilize it with baby-bottle sterilizer tablets. Remember to fill it with the correct ratio of steri-tabs to water, shake vigorously to mix, then RUN SOME WATER OUT THE BITE VALVE to ensure the hose and valve are being sterilized too. Leave it to sit for the recommended period, then rinse it out two or three times - again remembering to run clean water through the bite valve - because those steri-tabs leave an awful taste. I once rinsed my bladder only once in a rush, and when I hit the trail it tasted like I was drinking bleach.

So glad we could help! And yes, those bite valves... they really should just include extras!
This is an awesome review. Thank you
So glad it could be helpful to you!
Nice video! But do you need to wash it?
You may want to periodically wash it out, but if you remove the water and let it dry weekly, it should avoid any mold.
