Camelbak M.U.L.E. 100oz Hydration Pack
...
Includes the redesigned Antidote Hydration bladder. 100oz, 3 liters
-nylon pack with nylon straps
media pocket for MP3 player which is weather resistant zipper. Not waterproof but weather resistant. Big difference.
-independent suspension shoulder harness on rings
-for male or females
-air director back panel
compression straps
- $95 on Amazon
854 cubic inches of space with translates to 3.25 liters.
-Light weight at 1.76 lbs.
-slider sternum strap
-fixed 1.5 wide waist belt with cargo pockets
---Antidote Reservoir with quick link system
big bite valve with shut off
-Fairly easy to clean but it does have division in the middle of the bag which makes it a bit difficult.
-Quick-seal cap which is ok. Not my favorite. I prefer the zipper closed platypus style hydration bladders for easy of filling and cleaning.
The hydration compartment is insulated so the heat of your back won't be heating your water instantly. Over time, it will warm but the protection definitely helps maintain water temperature.
Camelbak markets this pack for mountain bikers and it certainly works in that regards but it is very capable for ultra light hikers
-Personally have taken this out for hundreds of miles of biking as well as literally hundreds of miles of hiking.
perfect for a day hike, a day of biking or even a day in town/sight seeing. It certainly would be a push to make this for an overnight pack. Possible but unlikely for most. A great pack for runners as well! It handles a moderate load very well and can be tightened to prevent bounce.
For someone my size it's absolutely perfect. If you are a large individual you may want to try this on in person first before buying. Make sure that it fits comfortably.
Very durable nylon. This pack has been used in most situations and still looks brand new.
Can be purchased in lots of different colors -
Black, blue, orange, red, white, so on and so forth
Plenty of pockets and plenty of space. Certainly well worth the money!
---A point that needs to be addressed. The bladder for me has presented no issues. No leaking ever but there are possible issues.
A rain cover can be purchased for this pack and it's fairly cheap actually. Around $8. - Наука та технологія
I have an older model of this and the small pocket at the top for your phone etc is waterproof, tried and tested many times when mountain biking. I was out once for over three hours and it poured down the whole time, it made the ride miserable but my phone was bone dry, it was the only thing that was!
Thanks Aaron. I appreciate it my friend.
As for tents; lots of possibilities. What type of tent review would you like to see? 3 season/4 season, ultralight or mid-weight? Let me know and I will see what I can do. :)
No doubt about it! I love that color. ;) Hope you are having a good weekend brother.
Hi, thanks for the review, helped me a lot!! I just ordered mine! Great review!
Awesome Brayn.
It's a great pack indeed.
- Luke
Gosh I remember when you did this vid.👍
Great review, have been looking at getting a new bag for walking/biking and this look like a great combo. Plus, looks pretty badass in the orange/grey combo!
Dang right amigo. My same thoughts. Take care.
Thanks for the last tip for big guys. I did go into a store to try one on, and yes, very uncomfortable.
great review. thanks
I have two Camelbak bags. One is a ridge runner (I believe) from about 10 years ago. I have taken it up Mt Whitney and on 100s of miles of hikes. The other was purchased on a USMC base; unsure of model name, but it's "military." Both were gifts. Both are nice bags, but I don't think I would ever pay for a Camelbak bag. They just seem priced too high compared to other options that are just as good if not better. But as gifts, they have both served me well.
Thanks luke
I've had one of these for years now I have the Orange one I think it's a 2011 model. Just so you are aware the bladder slides in the other way round so the handle on the bladder slides into the built in holder. This supports the bladder and doesn't allow it to drop down.
Thanks Brutus!
Greta review!! Regards from Mexico.
Nice review
Nice review. It is a good day pack. I've look at the Camelbak Ambush different but a nice system. I'd be hard pressed to choose. Thanks again.
No doubt again is a good video on water bag. Looking forward to see some other videos on military line from Camelbaks or Sources. Cheers !!
Nice. Looking to replace my 1998 H.A.W.G. i am considering this bag and the NV version. Also looking at the new H.A.W.G N.V.
So where are you at now with hydration backpack bladders?
High Sierra is a great alternative to CamelBak. I've had my 2L High Sierra hydration pack for 10 years. Still in great condition. Only upgrade i recommend is installing a current Gen Camelbak mouthpiece. The selectable On/Off switch stops leaks when pack is full. The stock mouthpiece often leaked due to the pressure inside the pack when wearing it.
I'm considering buying this oak cruise. Is it large enough to hold a towel in the largest pocket?
hey, when you say a large person might want to try it before purchase do you mean tall or overweight as i'm 6'6'' and average build
Nice cup!
Nice upgrades from the original military version I picked up many moons ago!
Aaron my friend, I will get your answer to you in the video I am shooting later this weekend. It will be part of the question and answer series. How does that sound? Take care my friend.
Great review! How would this compare to the Osprey Raptor 10 and 14?
nice review, Luke.
do you plan to review something in the tent department? I plan to build my gear for camping and Im looking for an all weather tent for two people, any reccomendations you can provide would be awesome. Thanks!
Hahaha That sounds awesome my friend. :)
Until then, take care buddy.
People who have the Camelbak antidote 3L- Does it taste of plastic after the first few washes?
Tasty beverage Bro!
sweet bass line in the intro song ;D
That orange is a really cool color.
I definitely like Camelbaks military line. They've got some good gear. :)
So, weird question. Is there something to hook the bladder on to inside the water compartment of this pack?
On my version there isn't a hook but the sleeve is tight enough so that it doesn't allow the bladder to sink. The update models may have a hook but I can't say for certain.
- Luke
Do you think I could fit a macbook pro retina 15" in the main compartment?
Hey, would this be any good for skiing as well as mountain biking ? thanks.
Absolutely! I've carried this on hundreds of miles of mountain biking trails.
Muy detallada explicación, rompió las barreras del idioma. Saludos desde Venezuela
Great review! I find it odd that there are 9 thumps down. It may be UK or Russian folks that are jealous of American cycling. This is the internet you know :P
could i fit a binder in it
well, Im looking for a tent I can do some basic camping in the woods with my girlfriend. For weather, we dont have snow here; just rain and cold (29F at most) And for price, Im willing to spend +/- 300 dlls, I'd like to buy a good one from day one :)
Yup, an ultralight will be ideal.
Thanks for your invaluable help!
hell yeah!! thanks Luke, Im looking forward to it. Thanks a ton, I will send you a good bottle of tequila :)
Oh yeah brother, that's the 'Boss.' She seems quiet but she isn't. haha
and the rain cover?
There is no rain cover. Not even sure if they make one for this pack.
Nope! I doubt it would be possible.
Well she talked me into it.
Kid Nitram Haha
- Luke
you had me at tasty beverage
Speaking of which, I think it's time for another...
Be well my friend.
- Luke
thanks your channel is very good.
The good stuff starts @ 3:00. (:
I don't have any experience with either of those. Sorry.
15 miler? Doing what? Hiking? Jogging? or Biking?
* Problems with the Civilian version? Then get the Mil-Spec version of the MULE @ www.lapolicegear.com/camelbak-mule500-hydration-pack.html
Fifteen mile hike. I've used this pack for literally hundreds of miles..biking and hiking as well. No issues with the pack at all.
- Luke
Just bought this bag, could be designed better with better pocket system but that's me. A very long video for a simple bag, sorry😕
Nope, way too small.
Whao is that your wife :D ? Dayum...:):):)
If any one wants to buy one of these I recommend buying a really cheap bag then go onto eBay and buy a 3L bladder it is alot more cheaper for basically the same thing
James Walker What type of pack are you recommending brother?
- Luke
Any pack will do, as long as you can fit the bladder you have into the bag it is good, the more you pay for the bag thr more features you have, in my opinion it is better paying $20 than 100 fot the same thing obviously the Camelback pack has its advantages though
Sorry about the bad spelling errors, my PC broke and I can't reply to any one on my Ipad so my phone is the next best thing
James Walker Spot on, I use a 17 inch laptop rucksack (£20) with a separate bladder, the rucksack is designed for lightness strength and comfort with all the padding and pockets you could ever need.
Camelbaks are ridiculously over priced, if they were half the price I still wouldn't buy one...far too small...designed for dwarfs with more money than sense :)
finnaly, someone with common sense
👍👍💯💯🙃🙂🙂🙃🇺🇸🇺🇸
Nice. Looking to replace my 1998 H.A.W.G. i am considering this bag and the NV version. Also looking at the new H.A.W.G N.V.
Let me know which one you go with my friend.
