NOW!...THAT'S WHAT I'M TALKIN' 'BOUT!!!...straight up Drag Racing entertainment!..This kind of Drag Racing tradition is what is needed to rejuvenate interest ($$$$) back into our beloved sport! Mr. Rick Ream is on to something here,..he and other "Wheelstanders" need to collaborate their efforts to get the respective sanctioning bodies to go all-out and support these drivers! THEY DESERVE ATTENTION!..They all have blood, sweat & tears + TLC put into their vehicles and need to make a living. Most Drag fans KNOW that these cars ARE "crowd pleasers" where ever they appear so, AHRA/IHRA + track-owners and the like should see this as a way to boost ticket sales and business for tracks across the country or the world for that matter. They would be great "ambassadors" for our sport to promote sanctioned Drag Racing as a form of American car culture. NHRA should run these cars at events as a distinct class with rules of course. They are Drag Racing heritage just as much as Funny Cars & Top Fuel,..any Drag fans would recognize them easily and se cars also fit right in as wheelstanding "billboards" like the 300mph+ fuel cars are made to represent! I applaud you Mr. Ream and your team for all you've done to keep the tradition alive and well,..more power to you and your family! One suggestion to help supplement cost to upkeep and run,..perhaps you could set out to also fabricate the " '50 Firetruck" to also run/compete in some "other" classes like "Super Gas" or some "ET class" on a handicap index maybe. The truck is so well-built that it seems a waste to just get it out there when a track owner can afford you. I bet it would feel real good to whoop some asses out there that think they can beat it and it's well experienced driver! Maybe by just chucking out the "flame-throwing rig" and switching out the rear suspension?... also covering some safety issues you could pull it off huh? Anyway, good luck with the truck and the best to your family and thank you for that eye candy '50 Stude' Firetruck!...also thank you VictoryRedColorado for introducing me this link!....v('_ ')
I seen a funny car do that in the 70s when the car pulled a Willie they could see down true the floor and they would steer it off the big wheels the wheelie bars would act like real wheels a driver can see where he is going and he would drive it off the big wheels . It doesn't matter it's a good show 👍🇺🇸
Also,..I'd like to say that,..I would be glad to help you coordinate a deal to run the truck in Japan. I live there and have done some Drag Racing, there is or was once one "Wheelstander" ...a Chevy Pick Up truck was bought and brought over but I'm not sure of it's existence now. I think currently there's a "Tank" replica jet car now that thrills the crowds at the few Drag events held at Fuji Speedway and "Two-Ring" Motegi,..a Honda funded race track. Perhaps you and a few more cars could organize a group to come run if interested, who knows you may can also swing a deal to Australia while you are in the orient. They have great interest in the sport there as you may be aware....just thought that I'd put the suggestion out there..Let's do what we can in this day & age to promote more attention to the great "Wheelstanders"!!!..........v('_ ' )
Really? 13 second 1/4 m. wheel standing the whole way? Great balance but come on. 13 sec cars can't do wheelies. What makes someone want to make something like that? It's the Nikki Minaj of cars. Looks good but fake as fuukkk.......
I'm assuming you know nothing about drag racing history. Wheelstanders have been doing this since the '60's, starting with the Little Red Wagon. Many others shortly followed. 13 seconds at 120 is not uncommon at all. I've seen them do 11 seconds. Before you call something 'fake', do some research.

Real ones eat Children. Dragstrip Owners tend to frown upon such things, as it is bad, for Business.
