So I have been trying to understand how the gumball compound fits into the lineup for RS… Can you share your experience with it and how it compares to the SS, S, SLW, and Clay?
Yes sir! So the Gumball is a SS Clay tire, comes in faster and gets up to race pace a bit faster than the normal Clay on a more wet highbite clay track. You still have to do the break in method like the normal Clay tire, burn the sauce into the tire on a microfiber towel until it smokes. The lineup goes from what I understand, SS, SSClay, SSLW, S, SClay, SSLW, Medium. The Clays come in a bit faster than the long wears, have a stiffer sidewall than a tradition SS or S tire but the contact patch still is flexible to the surface. The Longwear tires are overall going to be stiffer around the board. In Mississippi the track was so abrasive that the Gumball worked great, just was getting worn out quickly on practice day after a couple 2 minute sessions so I ended up going to a soft tire which lasted all day Saturday
