Thank you for your review! I'm new at using a scroll saw...I have drawn out many pieces, but someone else cut them & I finished them. Now, I'm doing the cutting myself!! I saw someone mentioned a headlamp to see better--that's a great idea! Thanks again for your video!!

Do you think this will work on 1/8" plexiglass?

In Germany we make round sawblads. You don't turn you wood you just go in what direction you want and the sawblades don't bracke. Good video I live here in Canada now and want to by one for cutting small pieces what I carve later.

I really appreciate this review. Saw everything I needed to feel comfortable giving this tool a shot. Just doing minor trim coping on a regular basis. Don't need anything big, but also not wanting to do it manually either. This thing seems perfect.

Just ordered one of these but didn't realise until you said that it doesn't come with the mitre gauge. Guess I'm just going to have to order one.
The only negative I can see long term is that the blades have pins on them which means there will be a minimum size hole that will have to be drilled in order to reinsert the blade to do internal cut outs. Other more commercial machines tend to not have the pins but cost a lot more.

Thanks for your very helpful review. However, after attaching the saw blade I tend to notice that it isn't perfectly straight, resulting in angled cuts and making it challenging to get the wood straight in. The wood piece always tends to move away. As a fix I need to start at an angle and push it in at angle different from 0°, which isn't very ideal. Any help from anyone would be highly appreciated! Thanks...

I would like to add that since I bought this scroll saw, there is no way of tightening the blade holder, so it has somehow stretched and I cannot accurately cut anything. Sad to say, it is not used anymore as totally uneven cuts.

welp, I picked one up along with 2 "angle adjustment" rails or fences, welp as you can see the rails are parallel with the cut direction? and the fence is not width adjustable, the guide simply spins on the rail to a 45 rendering it totally useless? did they not even try to use this rail for anything? why I dunno cuz you certainly cannot cut at a 45 degree angle to the blade? what are they thinking here? the rail should move opposite the cut direction so you can use it for adjustable width cutting which is what I need it for..
they need 2 more rails perpendicular to the existing ones perhaps on the outside edge then a fence to cut widths.. crazy the way it is now its pretty much useless, 2 rails the other direction one fence that connects between the two, an adjustable fence like a table saw..
I will use the two fences to hold in a piece of micarta with a hole drilled in it just large enough to put the blade through, this way I have a table to cut very small pieces, as in 1/8th width by 1/2" tall like 2.4" long.. mammoth tusk, guitar nets and saddles, as you know mammoth is quite rare and expensive so the chunks I can get two nuts out of I need to cut them in half, and this is the narrowest blade I could find for the job, a table saw blades width is the same width as a strat nut "1/8th" so you can see a table saw will not work with that kind of waste..
so my plan is to cut a micarta deck, holdit in place with one clamp and the two fences, then cut a piece of wood that's the distance away from the fence and blade as the width I need, 1/4" and 1/8th" should do as the strat nuts and acoustic saddles are 1/8th" thick and the acoustic nuts and les paul nuts are 1/4" thick.. thinking maybe use double sided tape to help secure the micarta deck and sizing blocks to the micarta, another reason I want a micarta deck, for adhesion and to cover the hole around the blade where small material would fall through, cant have that..
waiting for the sander so I can give it a whirl... it should work perfect long as it's not vibrating all over the place, should be able to find a sweet spot with teh variable speed which was another draw, the compact and portability was a draw as well.. I've had good success with dremel components they seem to be just good enough to get the job done which is welp, good enough...

I have searched all over youtube for a video that will decipher the different wood thicknesses that each blade will cut and I cannot find ANYTHING. Even googling only got me guides of different scroll saw blades, I wish there was a video or even an image to show what blades you use for 1/8”, 1/4”, 1/2” etc. Pieces of wood. It’s so frustrating that dremel doesnt give more of a guide on any of their attachments. Just tells you the materials they can be used on 🤦🏻‍♀️

  • @ishtlutz1261
    @ishtlutz1261 3 роки тому

Man. This .... SUCKED for me. And as far as just “throwing” the blade in & getting to work ..... yeah it took a professional carpenter & myself about 30 mins to get it in....
I actually had a pretty unpleasant time using this machine. & haven’t used it since that first time. It even dug into itself; I mean the blade somehow carved intk the area on the board just behind it. It shook like crazy when I used it... I was able to crappily cut an inch or 2 edge off a 1/2” piece of plywood about 12 inches long. That was it. And the 10 seconds it lasted was loud, wild, rough & like I said PRETTY unpleasant & I haven’t returned to this machine since.
I’m wondering if a regular old .. scroll saw would be better.... do they HAVE jig saws set up like a scroll saw? Where the blades comes in from the top? (You gotta excuse me, I’m NEW to this world of woodworking)
    Any insight?
I actually have a hopeful plan to build a 3 in 1 table with a table saw, router, & jig saw in 1.
