This tune came out while the radio was playing stuff like "I Want to hold Your Hand" (later but you get the idea) and in a lot of places didn't get much air time on top 40 radio. It was also about the time of FM radio playing progressive rock that helped bring this great music to the masses.
This was quite a few years before FM radio became commonplace. This album, when first released, was in mono, not stereo. Most people had really bad needles on terrible turntables before good stereo systems and components were starting to become widely available. For most kids who had Beatles albums and Cream, these good systems were unaffordable, at least in the States. These albums were normally torn up by the needles long ago. If you have the original mono in decent shape it could be worth a fortune.

In 2004, the song ranked number 65 on Rolling Stone magazine's list of the "500 Greatest Songs of All Time". In early 1967, Cream were writing and rehearsing songs for a second album. Their December 1966 debut album, Fresh Cream, was a mix of updated blues numbers and pop-oriented rock songs. Inspired by recent developments in rock music, the group began pursuing a more overtly psychedelic direction. "Sunshine of Your Love" began as a bass phrase or riff developed by Cream bassist Jack Bruce. Cream attended a concert on 29 January 1967 by the Jimi Hendrix Experience at the Saville Theatre in London.

Cream got back together for a series of concerts in 2005 at The Royal Albert Hall. You can see them perform on songs like “Stormy Monday”, “I’m So Glad”, and “Badge”!
The riff was created by their bass player, and usually lead singer, Jack Bruce, with the words by his co-writer poet Pete Brown. Drummer Peter ‘Ginger’ Baker and on guitar Eric Clapton. Eric sings some lines on this if you listen closely. At the very end they alternate singing the last line ‘I’ve been waiting so long’, so you can hear their different voices. Great tune off of Disraeli Gears the first album I ever owned.
Damn, that's a pretty awesome first.
@@normanleroy1874 found it in a bargain rack at Woolworth’s about 6 months before it was released in North America.I had heard it on WBZ Boston on a show I believe was named England Calling.
@@alhaskell242 Wow, that is awesome to have your first record be that good. My first record was Motley Crue, Shout at the Devil. Big difference in quality there, lol
@@normanleroy1874 but still not a bad choice for for a first,my second one was Steppenwolf. That was along time ago.
I love you The Cream ! One of the best rock band of all time ....
This is 1967 guys, Psychedelic rock/blues group ✌
Just three guys two guitars and a drum kit producing all that sound.
Better late than never….Check out Sunshine live on CREAM LIVE VOLUME 2…True house burner.🔥🔥🔥
Great bass and vocal from Jack Bruce
One of Eric Clapton’s killer guitar playing
Cream LIVE is where its at!!! 🤟👹❤
Awww heck yeah! I remember this song.
Cream was one of the best Power Trio's around "Eric Clapton, lead guitar and vocals", "Ginger Baker, Drums and vocals", "Jack Bruce, bass guitar and vocals". Some of the best in their field. Great reaction!
Cream - Rollin' And Tumblin'
🕺💪
Cream was only together 3 yrs in the late 60s. Sadly like a lot of other bands, egos ruined what could have gone on to be the greatest rock n roll group of all time. All were top musicians in their field and they made an incredible amount of hits in those 3 short years.
Jack Bruce is playing bass guitar and lead vocals with Eric Clapton playing guitar and backing vocals, Ginger Baker on Drums. The band only lasted 3 years, crazy
How did I miss this reaction from what 8 months ago. Cream was Eric Clapton's band. Their drummer was legendary. Anyway got to see the reaction today. Good stuff. Yes psychedelic. 1960's not 70's.
Asia & BJ...... watch the performance of this song at The Royal Albert Hall in 1969...............You'll Love it
This was the original "Super Group" with Clapton, Bruce and Baker.
This song was popular in the seventies, but it's actually from 1967, off an album with one of the most psychedelic album covers you can imagine.
Yep, Eric Clapton on lead and rhythm guitar and background vocals, Jack Bruce on Bass and lead vocals, and Ginger Baker on drums. God Bless you !!!
One of the best rock trios ever. Lates 60's. Eric Clapton (Guitar, vocals), Jack Bruce (Bass, vocals), Ginger Baker (Drums). Jack was lead vocals on this song.
Classic! Also In the goodfellas film ! Another classic!
Bad Company - Morning Sun
Grand Funk Railroad Into The Sun
Hawkwind - Children Of The Sun
Manfred Mann's Earth Band Solar Fire
Pink Floyd - Set The Controls For The Heart Of The Sun
Soundgarden - Black Hole Sun
SCORPIONS DRIFTING SUN
The drummer and bassist makes
The biggest part of the band to see them live I is great the dummer is one most sampled
remember, this came out in 1967...It blew me away then and still does to this day!
White Room ✌️Love these classic rock reactions
This was released in 1967 Hippie era (The 60's were the psychedelic times!)
Ginger Baker and Keith Moon revolutionized rock drumming being influenced by jazz drummers.
My favorite love song!
BJ you have an exceptional ear - most people don't recognize a sample in it's original form as quickly as you do if at all
even Ella Fitzgerald made a cover of this... an astonishing cover by the way
Eric Clapton on lead guitar, Jack Bruce on vocals and bass, and one of the greatest drummers in the world Ginger Baker. That's why they were called Cream, because they were the cream of the crop.
