Phone cameras see the lights better than we do so if you go outside tonight and take pictures on night mode you might see some impressive colours
False. I regularly see the northern lights over my lake and even when they're super intense, the most a phone camera may do is pick up a little shudder. The sky still looks black in pictures/videos.
No it’s just enhancing it take a video and it looks the same as what your eyes are seeing
That's so dishonest! That's NOT what you see with your eyes! Camera can do anything!
@@marinadoerksen8107 newer cameras have better night vision than people do, it's a big part of why the pictures are so vibrant. I didn't have any fancy settings turned on except for 3 second exposure and some of my pictures turned out breathtaking. And while dimmer, I got a good video too

@@MYyGUN yeah, its 24h of sunlight - we call it the midnight sun, cuz we get sunlight during midnight.
EDIT: but no, we can only see the Northern Lights during nighttime. So mostly during the winter when we get 24h darkness.

I remember seeing Aurora Borealis, I think in 1998. My father thought it was searchlights at first, then he drove us up to a hill above and to the north of the city. It stretched in all directions across the sky, as an undulating, shimmering curtain of mainly green light.
I WAS THERE I SAW IT WAS FRICKING AMAZING!!!!!! IT WAS SO COOL TO SEE IT PULSE AND STRING OUT!

I'm also in BC right now and saw it pretty good. Kinda like a green and pink glow that lit up the sky. But my son's phone camera picked up BRIGHT colours we couldn't even see. Only saw it for maybe 20 min then it was gone.

Solar weather is probably easier to predict than our weather here on earth. It's about every 10 years it cycles, we are at a peak right now.

Im so disappointed that I missed it. It was right above my head but i was watching fking tv and had no idea about it because nobody talked anything about it. Now i have to fly to Sweden, norway or iceland to experience it.
