Need some help here. So I've been growing my hair for quite some time now and my hair is decently longer than the man in this video. I haven't been to a barber/salon in maybe 2 years because I'm afraid they'll cut too much off. What exactly should I tell the hair stylist?
Also my hair is not near as straight it's very wavy.
You haven't cut your hair in 2 years? Daaaaamn. Your hair ends must look like shit. :D No offence. Just go and ask for the hair stylist just to trim your hair ends and to shape it how you like it. It's that simple. We dont know how your hair looks like. Maybe you want to thin it out a little bit. Probably should go to a lady, cause they will probably have greater feel for long hair. :) I just dont know what advice to give you since i dont know how your hair looks like, nor what do you want it to look like. If you want something like this guy, just show her the video. Or google some pictures to find what you like and show it to the hairstylist. Just please cut ends atleast. :D 2 years is too long. :D

it completely depends on what you want to do with it. depending on how your curls/waves are, i would suggest having them wash your hair (hey added plus then you get a head massage) if all youre looking for is a clean up of the ends then you would say exactly that "i would like my ends trimmed but not very much length". that will take care of any split ends you might have. if youre also looking for a shape or new style then take in some photos of what you want (always a good idea regardless of what is happening)

I have thin and light hair, so whenever I go somewhere and don't get some kind of heavy duty cement in my hair. I'll look bomb in the chair, but when I step out I can hear the wind whisper in my ear "hehe fuck you".

yes, in my opinion, first of all the mans hair went from even lengths to uneven lengths simply from a non precise razor type cut...you can she as she proceeded from there the cut ends are simply not right....even when dry the uneven-ness is most apparent and the hair looks much thinner than when started [thinner as in missing or rather empty or stringy areas]....the temple shape-up was just wrong [it was done wrong and cut wrong]....there also was no type of fade for the sideburn area just a large back cut around the ear area as a novice or home inexperienced "hair-cutter" would have done...ty
