This happened last time! I swear I had grown it out very long, and I told the barber to just trim it. I got a terrible fade and very short hair on top. Good fucking job fam.

I worked so hard for it. Having many bad hair days during the awkward phase and it started to look good on me, just had to get some things done here and there, and my barber does this... Welp I'm starting over

Um... try making up an excuse. Most people wont say or do anything if you say it's for religious reasons
@@mominsheikh5725 ive been growing mine for 6 months and just got a job three weeks ago, none of the places that i went for an interview even mentioned my hair. just slick it back and hide the overgrown areas, you can use a cap before you walk into their office and take it off so your hair is all set down from the cap. good luck and happy growing

What do you do with your hair in the shower on the days you don't wash it?
1. only use conditioner/treatment
2. only use water
3. use a shower cap

This is really helpful, I used to get nervous to tell the barbers what I’m looking for, and sometimes they cut it too short and that makes me get stressed out. Now I have a friend who I go to and I just tell them what I want and what I’m looking for before they cut my hair, and they get me, what i actually wanted. Leaving there feeling refreshed. It’s important to have that relationship with a barber who knows your hair and knows what you want.

I was really disappointed with this video, please let me explain why:
A lot of people here like your exact hairstyle. Now I'm not saying it's cool to copy you but I was going into this video with the expectation that you'd tell your barber how you want it, what lengths you want, etc. so that we learn how to have a style similar to yours. I was shocked that basically the takeaway from this video was "clean up the sides and neckline". Maybe it's just me but I wouldn't have watched this if I had known.

Blake Honestly I fully am with you. I was hoping for exact measurements or sayings you say to your barber, I have the same hair to get the hair style but I just need the thing he says :(

He talks about the lengths in a video one or two before this...
Bog , I’ve done that numerous times with many different barbers including salons. What I learned is that when you give a picture, and ask to look exactly like the picture or like what the picture shows, it just gives them an open ballpark and leaves plenty of room for unsatisfactory. I assume the people above are similar to me and like their hair to be exactly what they want, imagine or hope for it to be. Spending 20-40 dollars plus a decent tip routinely would make anyone picky with how they want their heir if they’re passionate enough about it! When you explore your options and learn about it, it’s pretty fun experimenting around with different styles (: (Hope this didn’t come off as a rant or anything, just giving an opinion)

Pro Tip(Works for me): Once you have grown your hair back(Last time i went to barber i came back almost bald). Just tell them to set the hair , cut short(not trim with trimmer) on sides and back, leave front and upper portion or you may choose to cut short front side too.

Lol this is so true. I didn't get the haircut I wanted today but it's not as bad as I thought it would be. I usually ask for a low fade on the sides and ask for the top of my sides to be long so my top hair won't look like a pineapple lol. The barber did ok but I wish she left it long like I said but I just gotta wait like a week. Hey hope you find a good barber soon and get a clean cut bro!

Hey so question, what makes a hairline “natural” vs “unnatural”?
I’ve recently being snipping off small bits of my receding hairline. It looks a lot less receded and since it was practically see through it didn’t make much of a difference in terms of forehead size, but I’m worried I created an unnatural hairline.
It doesn’t look weird to me, but it might look weird to others. What’s the optimal shape(s) you want your hairline to be? Shapes is plural because I realize everyone has a different hairline.

It would be helpful if you could do a video on the vocabulary to use to describe hair. I imagine many men don't have much of an ability to provide detailed descriptions of hairstyle. You already teach that on your channel, but I'd think it would be helpful at a barber's if I had a more-specific way of detailing what I'm looking for.

Another tip, don't say ill get the same as the last time. Make sure to re-describe how you want your haircut. They cut upwards of 100 heads a week, and even if you have a good connection with your barber it is still best to describe what you want each time you go.

Okay needed this video. Trying to grow out my hair and told my barber that but she said nope and cut off a lot of my hair.
I have gone to the same barber for five years and for five years frankly my hair has looked like shite. I didn’t realize this at the time until a family member finally came out and said it. When I decided to start growing mine out I opted for an actual stylist. Same amount of money for haircuts from both but one is an actual barber-stylist vs a traditional barber. Our options for a good barber in our area are not great and had to travel a good hour away to find one.

I am exactly there with you. Using dry shampoo and some styler does help. Also a good hairbrush helps! Dont shower it too often and comb it when you do.

Love these vids Luca! On the hair growth journey, my only question is: when you began growing out, did you trim some of the top off to allow the sides to catch up? Or did you leave the length on top and just waited for the sides to catch up. not sure since my sides are shorter rn, that the air dry headband look will be good on me.. lol

I had mine short on side and long on top (similar to fade) and just let it grow it. It’s been over a year now and I really like where it’s at as I can tie it all into a man bun.

I am curious how you articulate keeping side burns, ears and neck clean. You mentioned something about a “disjointed” undercut? Did I say that correctly? Right now the top is roughly 4/5 inches, the sides are 1/2 inches. I just got a trim around ears and neck as well as sideburns. I don’t think Peter fully understood what I was saying about this part of growing out my hair, needs to remain clean for work while I am growing it out. I’m excited to be on the journey again. Im trying to grow my hair out. Currently My hair on top is 6/5 inches and my sides are 1/5 inches. I am trying to grow a full man bun this year by growing out all of the sides, back, and top of the hair. I shampoo and condition once a week with hanz de fuko shampoo and conditioner to promote healthy hair growth by allowing natural oil to keep hair healthy. I have 1 multivitamin a day for all the vitamin benefits for hair. I use argan/moroccan oil every 4 days to allow healthy hair growth too. I drink lots of water each day. For the shower i use hot water after shampooing to remove all the dirt and then i condition leave it in for 5 minutes then wash it under cold water to re nourish hair and close the now so called new pores i have created. I have created a reminder on my phone to trim my split ends every 3 months.
