I remember seeing a guy playing this on a PSP as a kid then wanted a PSP ever since. I never got one, but its nice that many years later I'll have a chance to experience this game on a modern consoles that I can now afford to buy for myself as a working adult.
I never knew it came out. As soon as I saw Zack in Birth By Sleep, I wanted to play his game. Not until now am I finding out his game was on the PSP. Whoops but never late to enjoy the game and now on the big screen.
As a hugeeee Kingdom Hearts fan, I never realized this is basically the Birth By Sleep of the Final Fantasy world. Spin off game on psp, has fusion to put a spin on materia, smaller corridor areas, playing as a fan favorite side character. I’m honestly even more hyped to play this for the first time tomorrow!!
Actually birth by sleep is the crisis core of kh. Crisis core came out 3 years sooner birth by sleep and clearly it took a lot of ideas from crisis core
@@aroccoification oh okay that makes sense, I was wondering which came first after posting this. In thatttt case you can totally tell that BBS took a lot of teachings from what they did with this game. The farther I get into it the more I see the similarities stick out
He was definitely correct on the importance of Materia fusion, without it once you get to the 5-6 star missions. random mobs can be brutal. past that it only gets worse. you want to fuse and most importantly get the extra buff that on each materia high as possible. particularly health. not getting killed in 1-2 hits helps a lot. later when you get the attribute items you can even change what bonus stat things have when done right. i'd recommend progressing the story as much as the player can and not get too deep into the missions, to unlock the 6 materia slots,4 equipment slots, shops and steal. a lot easier easier than it is in the missions. also make sure you talk to every side quest mission NPC marked as a yellow symbol on the map before chapter 8. you get a warning at the end of chapter 7 and are locked out of talking to them anymore. but you can still play the missions up to the last save point before the final battles. on chapter 10.
1st........ Goddamn the game looks cool and good. Even though i have a few gripes with it. I did mission mode alot in the Original game. Got to some levels early. Like from Lvl.10 to Lvl.25. Acquired materia and upgrades early.
I massively enjoyed this episode back in the days, and I have been having a blast playing the remake for the last few days To me the story of this game is absolutely crucial to the FF7 bigger story, and I actually find it even more interesting than the FF7 story And in a way, to me Zack is the real main character of FF7
I hope Rebirth also lets us save sets too in Remake i felt like the game could have greatly benefited from that in fact changing one during a fight would be useful too since at times you enter fights without being prepared for that enemy type and that could lead to players having more fun through encounters
I'm starting tomorrow so thanks. My main take away is do everything which is my plan! I put off the purchase but I like the way it looks and I love doing a lot of menu stuff and grinding. The combat looks similar to the ff7 remake, which I liked a lot. I know there's some slot thing but I'll figure that out. Materia fusion looks great. Never played the original so I'm lucky to have something ff7 related still left to play. These tips seem really helpful for new people! I hope this game ends up being at least a 7/10!
Don't know whether they changed the level curve/balancing to incentivize playing through [optional] missions, but I remember on the PSP I only did the bare minimal amount of missions, like the Yuffie materia hunter stuff, and some combat ones. Being underleveled was never an issue, and missions barely add anything to the main quest...
Can someone tell me how to use elemental strike? I know how to use it in ff7 as there are linked slots on the equipment but I don’t see any way to link material…

This game was pretty much overlooked back in the day. Glad it got a second wind.
This is the only ff7 game I haven’t played so I’m hype af
Overlooked? This game sold over 3 million copies and was the 8th highest selling game on the psp
Not really, overrated maybe

@@xStanyyx that doesnt change who did it first thats what were discussing. Both great games by the same people

Preordered it a few days back.
Can’t wait to play.
Still cant get over the fact that they keep making these full games for Kingdom hearts side characters.
Lol 😎

Good stuff. Will pick this up.
Oye! I’m 39 and this is such the best gift I could receive! Thank you square!!
6:59 or just look at the map for the sidemission blue/yellow icon. Just to talk to every single npc is ridiculous

I thought that was a performance mode option.
I'm waiting patiently for the release.
What is the ending song??
The price of freedom.
Can you switch materia set in combat or only out of it?
Only out of it or when you die and have to restart the encounter
Bro I’m need but how cool is your intro
It's only deserving that the psp systemseller gets a remaster
An excellent Remaster.
Does it have a new game+?
Yes
