2023-11-17 News 6 Report on Dollar Store Moratorium

Some residents complain there are too many dollar stores in the City of Deltona, Florida. Now, Deltona Mayor Santiago Avila, Jr. plans to take action.
He requested a discussion on the moratorium of dollar stores at the city commission meeting on Nov. 27.
Mayor Avila said this temporary halt aims to give the city time to review and update land use codes.

I don’t think people realize that many of the products in the dollar stores are more expensive than they are in stores like Walmart and chain grocery stores.

They do it with liquor stores and I think they should do it with homeless people too…only one homeless person every 5 miles please

Dollar Tree and Dollar General are nowhere near the same stores. You don't see a lot of homeless in Dollar General because most of the stuff is more than a dollar.
