I once mentioned liking King of the Hill to my teacher, and she said that even though she once lived in Texas she did not enjoy it. She said, for the longest time, if she watched it none of the jokes made her laugh, then one day she realized that it was because it was exactly how life was there. She said "how could you laugh at something that was just life?" I think that just improved the show in my mind.
Damn really I feel the same way king of the hill to me feel more real than other show yet it still make me laugh because it feel like everyday is just another episode of it and that why I like king of the hill because it show that everything (and I mean everything) doesn’t have to be bizarre or random or out of this world to be funny to anyone you could just use simple little joke to make a good laugh 😉😉😉
It's just a more subtle twist on reality, but I wouldn't call it "just like real life in Texas." Humor is based on the unexpected. If you make a show more realistic, then it gives you more opportunities to catch people off guard if you're a good writer.
Mike Judge is from Texas and grew up in similar circumstances to King of the Hill and Beavis and Butthead (which also takes place in Texas many don't realize). So it makes sense.

@@carultch "soy vomitando" is incorrect ( "soy" is only used prior to a noun or adjective, a native speaker would not say this ). For a verb, like in this case, the correct way to say it would be "estoy vomitando" (which means "I am vomiting" ). Some soap got into the production line when they were making the beer. Ingesting soap causes some pretty nasty stomach trouble, hence the vomiting and diarrhea all those Mexican callers were complaining about. (And which the guys and later Peggy, to prove a point,) suffered later.
