This helps me! I was a super smart workaholic clinical psychologist but at age 65 (Orthodox since age 56 only!) now, I’ve let go of my psychologist license and I’m working on ascesis, prayer and voluntary suffering through the crucifixion of my intellect…it’s hard because I’ve discovered that I idolize my own thoughts! I’m working on repenting from that through “Orthodox psychotherapy”
    thank you

I've found that Pride is one of the hardest passions to deal with personally. Mine is always working as I've always valued intellectual pursuits and competency in those pursuits as part of my identity. Even though, now, three years Orthodox, I know where and what my true identity is, but I still backslide. When I change that mindset, and remind myself to repent of Pride and humble myself, have a meek and humble spirit, as Christ humbled himself -- it helps. We all have our crosses to carry and passions to crucify. God bless you!

    Christ is Risen! Master bless.
Thank you for sharing these most edifying and soul inspiring words. They help us keep focused on trying to live the life of Christ. Thank you!
Some time ago, I asked to be put on your list of people who need prayers for the sick. Glory be to God, I can now be taken off that list. Thank you for your extra prayers. Now my health issues are chronic ones, which I believe to be part of the Crosses our merciful and loving God allows me to bare. I'm very thankful and grateful for His great grace that allows me to carry Crosses. I've been basically well my whole life, except for a couple of severe illnesses. Four days after my tonsure, my health fell into some chronic illnesses. It seems clear to me that it's God's will for me to endure these. I thank you very much for praying for my health... and maybe it's a good idea to ask you to continue, so that I bare these health Crosses for the glory of God. That would be good!
Thank you again, fathers and brothers for all you do and share.
    In the love of Christ,
Mother Anastasia of The Sacred Hermitage of St. Paisius

For The Church in This Age. The Seed, can be Imagined as a Coin. The Coin was given, in the Expectation of Interest, for Him who Gave it. Some invested in one thing, another invested in something else, and some tucked it under their mattress, to save for a Rainy Day.
One day, the Giver of the Coin, Required His Interest. Some had Invested in Only one thing, Another had Invested in many Various things, All gave up the Interest Accrued via their Investments.
Another began to Reach for the Coin, that lay hidden and Unused beneath their Mattress, do not trouble said the Giver of the Coin, the bed Is Made, now You can Lay in It.
