I think sausage rolls are English. Perhaps the miners had dirty hands from mining so the meat was wrapped in pastry to keep the meat clean. They may have discarded the coal covered pastry. ??? Pasties have a similar history.
I was thinking when I saw the thumbnail that they must have gotten something other than the typical pork sausage roll. Now I'm wondering if that the biggest hurdle about achieving peace and friendship between Pakistan and India. Just the fact that if they sit down to share a meal and talk out their differences, both pork and beef are off the table. Somebody make a really good chicken dinner and they can be friends again.

These are readily available in the cities in Pakistan and have been for decades. All the bakeries bake and stock different variants of such pastries/rolls

This is exactly why they've started using "Western" more in their descriptions. At this point in history, no one culture can claim any one dish because of immigration/integration. All these folks know is that a particular food is consumed in a certain culture or part of the world and that it's preparation and/or ingredients are different than what they're used to eating. 😊
Why do they put ketchup on everything🧐? I noticed that they dip their food in ketchup all the time and I was wondering why? Putting ketchup on everything just ruins the flavor of the dish, I wish they would enjoy the flavor of the food instead of ruining it with ketchup. It just doesn't seem appetizing to me, 🤢

Im confused. Is there any foods that due to their upbringing or religion these wonderful people would avoid. Not personal preference like spicy peppers.
I have seen so many foods presented to them that are normally pork-based in the UK. I'd like to see them try some more recipes that don't have to be altered, so they get the REAL taste of British food. I'm not saying the substitutes aren't good, they're just not an accurate representation, is all.
I know they can't eat pork sausage rolls, but we do make beef ones. However, I've NEVER heard of chicken sausage rolls... !!
