My file size was 438,447 kb and now 208,092 kb. Thanks it's a huge space saving, more than 50%. Great !!
Really helpful... Reduced by model size from 110510 kb to 42352 kb... Thank you
This was a decent video. There is also so much more to a model that impacts file size that wasn't explained in this video. Textures are one of the biggest issues by far, components in the 3d warehouse too. This is a much bigger topic than what was explained in this video and that's fine, just wish it was a lot more informative for the people trying to learn sketchup and coming to watch this. Thanks for your efforts though none the less, just wanted to point out though that it's way more complicated than this video unfortunately, ha....
yeah some will be surprised that they're using 4k or 8k textures and when they export it to like let's say unreal engine the engines takes up a lot more ram even though you have little geometries in your project or have lesser polygons in them and surprisingly it'll either crash or take a much longer time to load up what a pain
worked on my files. thanks a bunch!
thank you so much
Thank you so much!
This literally saved me!
its a rally helpful vedio ....wow amazing
Thank you so much!! Subscribed!
You have to ungroup the components. From 949,050kb to 426,614kb. Thank you, creator! I almost bought a new laptop.
Tried it and it worked. Thanks!
Nice, thank you so much
Thank you! You’re quite helpful
you're a life saver sir, thank you
Thank you soo much, you've just saved my life
Hi, I noticed my file size kept on increasing the more I delete components, whatever the funky way I do it. I delete a small component and my file will grow 2 mb, or even 8 mb. I only have small non complex components and i'm going crazy trying to understand what the problem is. I've been purging, deleting, searching the internet, importing my project in a new file, even reinstalling sketchup and nothing works. You're a pro, right? So what do you think?
LIFE SAVER! Thank you so much!
woah! thank you so much this reduced my file size incredibly
thank you so much! this is very helpful!
thanks brah
YAY! thank you so much!
saved my life!
My skethcup crashes every time I try purging. Brand new MSI laptop :(
Nearly doubled my file size for some reason.
bro my file moved from 306mb to 305mb...?????
If you have a lot of groups (that could be components) or ungrouped items that could be groups, you can also try that.
@@DesignerhacksPage i dont get you bro...
@@DesignerhacksPage thanks a lot for your suggestion
I've lost my day trying to export files from SketchUp to others it didn't work
Until I saw your video
@@bryanskyer9261 Are you familiar with groups and components?
@@DesignerhacksPage yes i use components and groups ,also i use layers...
just delete the color materials as simple as that
300 mb to 190mb thanks
Super like thank you so much sir
