They have the absolute best customer service. I had a problem with a product failure once and they got it taken care of and were super communicative the entire way. So much so that I opted to buy a few more of their products. I worked directly with Vincent and Annie quite a bit. Big shoutout to them as well.
Thanks for the review, I'm gonna end up grabbing this DAC in the near future, it will be my first stand alone DAC. Attached to the Wiim Ultra and output to Emotiva amp. Excited that I'll also have a subwoofer (output from Wiim Ultra). That's the plan .. stoked and excited.
Depends on your priorities for a DAC. All round I'd prefer the Bifrost, pure sonic ability I'd go for the Denafrips. Also note that Denafrips recently ended their relationship with their long-time global distributor who was based in Singapore. He was awesome, but now it's up in the air with Denafrips taking control of that in China.
thanks for this review, very refreshing to see someone be able to translate audiophile stuff to layman's -- way easier to figure everything out. think I might go for this soon, very reasonably priced for what it is!
I have the Ares12th-1 for about 8 months now. I love it more day by day, outstanding how the music sound alive and organic. Never had issues with delays thus.
You mentioned a noticeable delay with the ARES when starting music. Does this mean that when watching content on your PC with the ARES as your DAC, you'll get lips out of sync when people speak? Or when playing video games, your sound will be out of sync?
A nice review and I agree with all your comments by and large. I bought this for my vacation home as an upgrade to a Bluesound Node. I did put it in my home system first and it sounded great in a relatively expensive system (expensive is a relative term in the audiophile world - but let’s just say the wires connecting it to the rest of the system were far more expensive than this dac). It’s my first experience with an R2R DAC and very impressed.
Be sure to check out my man Alvin's store (www.vinshine.audio/) and subscribe to his channel ASAP (www.youtube.com/@VinshineAudio)
Denaprips Enyo is the cheapest about 700USD not ares 12th-1

Nice review
You state you get a better bang for buck from schiit bifrost. If im looking at both of these dacs, which is better in your opinion?

Just found your channel and really like your reviewing skills. Im waiting for my Ares 12th-1 to arrive anytime soon!
Thanks for watching and appreciate the props. Let us know what you think of your Ares when you get it, ya?
@@gearupaaron for sure!

It fixed my LCDX 2021 ….its giving it more clarity , soundstage and actually ( in my case Not Oversampling) the vocals are clearer 😊
Great video 👍
The Denafrips Enyo is their less expensive entry level DAC
Interestingly, when I was making this video, the Enyo/Ares II wasn't listed in their catalog. Probably readying for the 15th version.

No latency issues - it's the literal delay from when you press Play and when audio is actually heard. Really small thing.
I will pray for your soul for your use of expletives. 😅
Lol, bless your heart 🤣
Aaron the UA-cam Butcher! Thanks for posting this video.
The butcher, huh? 🤣
I meant Bouncer!😁@@gearupaaron
ThanksMuch for posting !
Anytime! ✌️
What preamp and amp you use? Thx
It was an odd mish-mash of the Fiio R7 as the preamp and iFi Zen CAN as the amp 😜
