yeah took me a long while to realize they weren't answering the discarded questions... fairly disappointing
Yeah I realised after the first word that it is more fun to try and guess the questions instead
Would've been better to show the chosen question than the discarded one.
I still guessed the final word (after the first team guessed to get the starting letter), but yea, pretty hard to play along.
they've done it in the past, though. tell the other team to close their eyes and, if we don't want to see the question, close OUR eyes, show it, then say ok open your eyes. its not that hard@@BeheadedKamikaze

I love that there’s a card specifically to throw off the other team’s mediums with a nonsense clue- and that Lorna called attention to it
Laurie associating the first word with Hades was wild
Some better picks:
Hygieia, godess of hygine and cleanliness.
Cloacina, godess who looked after the sewer outflow from Rome and ensured it didn't block.
Crepitus, god of all things bum related(flatulence, constipation, diarrhea, hemeroids, etc).
I don't think anyone other than nerds has heard of those though, so god of the seas is still a safer pick(although I guess it's a case of knowing your friend group).

I feel like the gods question is just unlikely to be a good question for most groups because of most people's limited knowledge of mythology. The handful of gods that most people know are probably not associated with whatever the clue is. I'd consider removing that card from the deck personally and I wouldn't have picked it if I were in Blair/Sully's position.

Constructive criticism - show the question kept by the spirit for one team but not the other. That way we have the experience of playing along with Sully and Blair, for instance, because we would have exactly the same information that they have. Then switch teams for the next one. But it was still fun!

Poseidon is further associated with toilets (beyond just, water) due to the phrase 'Poseidon's Kiss'.
Pretty bad to tell you that you can play along not looking at the word and then not providing you with the questions, it is impossible when you do not know the questions being answered to follow anything of what's happening.
Comforting to read this comment. I thought just I was being dim and slow. couldn't make head or tail of the words. One of those games that I'm sure it's super fun to play but not to watch.

I figured that I would look at the word for the first round, and then see if I could play along for the later rounds but as soon as I realized that I wouldn’t learn any of the questions I knew that it wouldn’t be possible to play along

I'm actually going to defend Laurie's Hades pick because in the Disney movie Hercules, Hades is defeated by flushing him down the whirlpool of souls.

Most Starfish eat mollusks (clams, mussels and oysters), coral, sponges, and even fish if they get ahold of them, eating algae is much rarer(depends on species)

This one was a lot harder to play along with at home because we had no context to any of the letters being shown. I tried it out with the second game and it was just, impenetrable. Made me want to try out the game for myself though. So...Mission Accomplished?

Every time I'm able to guess one of these ahead of the players, I feel so vindicated! Then I get the catharsis of yelling the correct answer at them.

I was able to figure out the connection to Elvis knowing the word, but I don't know if I would have figured that out without it lol.

How could they push for Poseidon so hard without mentioning Poseidon's/Neptune's Kiss even once?
I really like how many of those questions are 'what isn't' instead of 'what is', adds some strategy instead of the game depending solely on connecting dots.
EDIT: I have to agree with everyone saying that without questions asked it's hard to play along, but at the same time it could be an interesting addition if there was another 'neutral' medium in the game, that could write down their own entries every two or three guesses by the teams, that would get revealed once one of the teams guessed correctly and rob 'em of their victory if correct/close enough.
I think the editor did not understand the game?… why do we get a close up look at the discarded question that is not answered? Would have loved to play along rather than play an entirely different impossible game

This isn't a "play along as well" game, because you have less information than everyone playing. Teams know half the questions. Ghosts know the answer and their own words. Spectators get half-words and unknown prompts.
Definitely an interesting game to play (each pair is privy to different info and get to have secret laughs about what they know of the game state), but the chosen questions would be better to know for playing along at home
Depending on how you interpret it Elvis DID in fact die on a toilet. He was sitting on the toilet when he had a massive heart attack and seizure the seizure pitched him forward and he was dead by the time he hit the floor. Therefore if you count his death as occurring at the start of the heartattack that would kill him. He did die on the toilet he just wasnt FOUND on the toilet. He was found on the floor with his ass in the air. Which if anything is WORSE. I think id Rather be found on the toilet than with my ass out in front of it.
Laurie messed up on the first question, but the right answer wasn't Poseidon. It was Uranus.
Laurie could have written "Sterculius" for the Greek/Roman god question.
Everyone knows Sterculius's name is derived from "stercus" or manure/excrement.
This needs to be re-edited to include the question being asked. At the moment it is an indeterminate clue to a question we do not know about, other than knowing what question it is not answering.
You could have it in white text at the top of the screen.
