- US Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin has visited Kyiv and announced details of a 400 million dollar aid package for Ukraine. Monday's announcement came just two weeks before a presidential election that could put further aid in doubt.
During the visit, a Russian bombardment hit the eastern city of Pokrovsk, killing three people. Moscow is slowly advancing toward the city, a key transportation hub that could open up further advances in the area. Our correspondent Max Zander visited the frontline city to talk to its defenders and see the devastation caused by Russia's advance.

This is such a catastrophe. Europe must do some soul searching. The war was preventable and containable. The cope that NATO can regain the upper hand by launching rockets into Russia just digs the hole deeper.
