@sciencesaves right on, same here. I thought it was cool that Edelrid included it in their packaging. Gives you an idea of what to do with your old rope that you’re replacing 👍
Bought some of your merch a few days ago - already arrived in the UK and love it - best climbing channel out there cheers man. Would love to see more videos about your proffesional rope access work!
This is so cute! 10/10 video! Good instructions too! Also in the spirit of re-using old gear, my christmas tree is covered in old dogbones and carabiners that I no longer use!
What I think most closely resembles your basic pattern in Ashley's book would be a flat lanyard, No. 818. However the ends coming out in the middle and the absence could make it another knot. Hell sometimes they have different names just because you look at them from the other side.
@@BetaClimbers Actually, that one I found several times. I knew it as a "double coin knot", but it is listed as a "prolong knot" (because you can do exactly, what you did), "gunner's knot" or "artillery knot", depending on the weather, presumably. Also, I found some more info on the finished pattern, which is in fact a "flat lanyard" or "bosun's knot" or just "Chinese knot". The texture is called a basket weave and it can be extended pretty much as far as you like. Now, I'm definitely done knot nerding for today, since it's giving me a headache. No idea who comes up with these names, but I doubt they're fun at parties, but then again, neither am I. Cheers!
My edelrid ropes came with instructions for a rope mat. There’s lots of patterns to choose from and theyre pretty cool looking
Didn’t know that cool 😎

Yes ! Sounds cool ! Just have to wait till my rope breaks though 😅
Or better not wait till it breaks but till it’s ,,ready for being replaced“ 😂

Lol think the first part is a pretzel knot

Just recently received the Ashley book of knots as a Secret Santa gift.
Celtic pattern, connect two ends.
Please upload love model(❤) rope mat
Thx for this Idea :) got 6 passes with 30m rope :)
shouldn't climbing fails be vertical videos?
If you extract the core it might be even nicer
🤔 interesting
@@BetaClimbers with hollowed out ropes I make belts and stuff, it is really good material
@@ShurikB93 I’ll have to give that a try
@@ShurikB93 How do you get it out?
@@Jokl92 cut the end of the rope.
You'll have the core exposed.
Pull it all out.
If it doesn't work try taking separate core strands out

the only problem is I'd probably cringe everytime I step on it as if I'm commiting a crime.
Heeej :D
I sell all my used and unsafe ropes to unsuspecting newbies 😈
You have been reported to the climbing police. Stay right where you are!
