“Oh my gourd” LOL. I love the Frankenstein mask! When I was young, we made our own costumes. I loved that and my costumes were always original! Not like the store bought stuff.
Renee, you crack me up too. Love your funny comments. Your video will make me laugh or chuckle at least once but usual more. Thanks for taking us along to the flea market. Enjoyed the ride. Have a great day.
What great finds. I love the Frankenstein head. Those cute shoes! Oh my. What fun. Thanks for taking me along sweetheart.I love you. Stay safe and healthy. ❤️😘💞💞💞🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏✌️👶
Hello Renee. I went to a huge Church sale thought of you picked up 2 old books 1926 books. Unfortunately they put stickers on the book fronts (hard backs) and upon removing carefully it still took off some of it with it !!! Note to sellers don't do that ! Picked up a pair of nice shoes at thrift store yup sticker on leather shoe. Had them remove it Nice Round Circle gone !!! The books are only worth 20 plus dollars eBay but not the point, were to be gift for my mom who is a avid book reader and collector. Born in 1928 she is 95 and on a cruise to Alaska where my dad was posted during the war ! God love her. You inspire me to hunt, my jam is antique hats and yes I do wear them to church etc.
Thank you Renee. Another great video👍 Those shoes are so cute. They look comfy and will go with a lot of clothing you might wear👏 I always look forward to your videos. 😘
"There´s only one original Tote Man though !" . Great quote, and glad to hear that he´s finally back from his well deserved vacation. 😉 Yep, around 6 a.m. was also the time when we started our flea market activities as resellers back in the days. We were not professionals, but we made some nice and also "the usual" experiences (threatening, fights between resellers etc.). This market was the oldest flea market in Germany with tons of tourists and buyers, but it´s also comparatively small, so: lot´s of vendor´s fights for the best places...😐 Anyways, you made some great finds again at your local flea market, Renée. 5:18 A whole bunch of German novels, looks like the majority are "club issues" (Bertelsmann etc.) from the 1950´s. Annemarie Selinko´s "Desirée" was a bestseller during that time. "Der Gasmann" was the guy who came to every household to see how much gas customers used for cooking, getting hot water for a bath etc. Keep it up, and see you on the next one ! 👍Greets from GER, U.
Who knew one could write a little book about the gas man! Perhaps I’ll work on reading that after the Berlin letters are translated. Translating those letters leaves me feeling like I traveled back in time to 1947 Berlin, typing at a little desk in a dimly lit room. The woman who wrote the letters, what a heart she had. I’ll provide an update in an upcoming mail video, yet to be filmed! I’m too nervous to open up more mail from you, I have to prepare myself for the treasures! Our flea markets here also have the little disturbances every now and then, sometimes it’s more between the buyers & sellers. This market has about a month to go & then it’s closed until the spring. Then I’ll have to venture to Tony’s flea market & see what treasures are to be had there! Any exciting plans for the upcoming weekend?
@@PaperandMoose It might be an option to produce a separate "History Behind the Paper" vid on the "Letters from Berlin", if there´s enough "meat on the bone". But that´s up to you. No need to be nervous about the incoming mail from the country of your forefathers, Renée, it´s just a whole bunch of old, yellowish, dusty paper. 😁But wait...there´s one item that might catch your eye. It´s very old, you can read it, you can write on it, but it´s not paper or plastic. What could it be, what could it be...😂Have a good one, U.
Quite the selection of things at the flea today! Love those cassettes, Grand Funk was one of the first concerts I was able to go to, early seventies! Love the Halloween mask of Frankenstein, so glad you rescued it!
Hey Miss Moose...don't have much to say today, but enjoyed watching you dig....so, I'll leave you with a couple of jokes.😁😁 Q: Who did Frankenstein take to the prom? A: His ghoul friend Which musical group was Frankenstein was afraid of? The Village People.
Kev is nice. I've watched his videos from time to time. I would have asked about the whole box of photos and stuff. Negotiating a price it what I would do. I told folks this last sale I did, "We can talk". As long as the price isn't so low it's insulting, I usually accept. Looks like you have fun! Yay tote men!
I think I'm going to use it as a "tree topper" for one of the ceramic trees I leave out yearlong & then add some creepy black webbing/gauze around the bottom.
Grass Roots is one of the first tapes I got when I put the 8-track in my car back in high school in the early 70's. You sang Midnight Confessions beautifully
Another fun video. I always wish I had. Tote man when I see what you find from him. I especially like bed your Frankie head - that will be great Halloween decor.😊❤😊
Love the Frankenstein monster head and those shoes! Tomorrow is my thrifting day, so cross fingers. Oh, and find of the week, so far, goes to my kiddo! I had given up in this one particular store and was leaving and he stops me and points to something that catches his eye. It was a vintage pewter necklace made by the oldest pewter workshop in Norway. It cost the equivalent of 7.50US, and sold for $60. I think I've trained him well. PS: I'm still making your scarf I started during the pandemic. I'll try to get it done before the real cold sets in.
That Better Homes and gardens cookbook (toward the beginning) could be a real find -- I have my grandmother's from the late 50s and it's fantastic. The recipe for my very favorite dessert (rhubarb custard pie) is in that cookbook!!!
Renae I'm curious? I watch both you and Taco Stacks daily. I wonder why I never see vintage pewter coffee pots? I have 2 identical pots. Do I not see them because they are rare or just not valuable? I really enjoy your content, Ty for sharing your time and your finds with us❤
Hi Renee - Not sure I could pull off that disco ball soap dispenser in my bathroom (😁) but saving that kind of money can't be knocked. Love the photos and the books. Those clogs or moccasins do look like quite comfortable "house shoes" - though I have never been disciplined enough to do the Mr. Rogers thing and have shoes for indoors & outdoors so as not to track dirt. Big day with both the OTM (Original Tote Man) and the Great Pretender (pop quiz - who sang The GP?). Thanks for including us. Rain here this weekend. I may venture out a ways to a picker "antique" store. Have to see how the weekend shapes up. Enjoy your Wednesday! Oh - and the Frankenstein mask reminds me of when we also used to make our own costumes (in the 70s). Some worked & some not so much. I spent a long time cutting bat wings and other parts out of garbage bags once - only to have several neighbors ask me if I was dressed as as a Hefty bag. Oh well, they gave me the candy all the same.
At first I thought of Jackson Browne, but his song is just “The Pretender”. Then I remembered the “Oh yes, I’m the great pretender…” I’d have to cheat & google who sang it, though I remember the lyrics! I have my house slippers & house shoes. The house shoes I can easily slip on & off to do things like bring the trash in, get mail, quick run to the car - easier than putting on sneakers! But I also have “work from home” clothes, which is just clothing that I wear when I’m at home doing work. Comfortable, but not like I’m spending the day in pajama pants. That would lead to a day on the couch watching shows or a good movie, which I need to do at some point! I’m hoping the weather changes for the weekend because I’m going to a pretty big event that’s rain or shine & I would much rather have it be shining! Good luck if you venture out to the “antique” store, hopefully you’ll find something good!
Renee, just curious,,,,🤔🤔do you want to know when I see stuff for junk journal to help build your ephemera stacks? Or should I just be quiet? Love watching you dig through the boxes❣️ 🤗💖🦋
Hey Renee. Nice day for a Flea Market finds. Love the Frankenstein you find for $2.00 Dollars. But I wanted to know, why you did not take piglet from Winnie the Pooh. Isn't he vintage. But so glad you could find what you needed for more research. When are you going back to the cleanout house? God Bless you and thank you Renee for sharing such a wonderful day. Til later. Maria. 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗❤️❤️❤️❤️💜💜💜💙💙
We go back to the cleanout house tomorrow, hopefully to finish it up. I won’t be filming more there, as it is just us going up & down stairs carrying boxes out to Tony’s van. Not too exciting! We didn’t really find anything else great, but that’s okay. Hopefully we start a new cleanout next week! Hope that your week is going well so far!
As the dawn breaks the ‘Toteman ‘ cometh. Funky Frankenstein made for the pinhead kid? Pretty groovy. German books? Wunderbar! And I liked the vintage photos you picked out Renee. Interesting…..
I wonder if perhaps Frankenstein sat on top of the kid's head, as if his shoulders had been lifted by something else homemade and the mask sat on that.
@@PaperandMoose it does look pretty uncomfortable and unsafe for a kid, but the eye holes were cut out weren't they? Hmmm, not sure. Makes a good sculptural feature though
Looks like you did well at the flea market…the Frankenstein head is beyond cool…did you ask about the other ones she said she made My mother made a pumpkin Halloween custom when I was a kid, used coat hangers to make it round and a dorky little green hat. I hated it Finally talked my dad into getting a werewolf costume The shoes are cute and look very comfortable. I can proudly say I haven’t bought a new pair of shoes in 40 years My girlfriend bought some good Halloween blow molds , BIG pumpkin with a cat on it and a ghost holding a cat, at our Tuesday flea market. Is unbelievable how crazy expensive those things have gotten. Personally I think she is sort of out of control buying blow molds but I don’t say anything
Good mourning...opps...I meant to say MORNING! I saw my first "Pumpkin Patch" yesterday, occupying a vacant lot! Next week, all my Halloween Critters will be invading my dining room table and side board! I see an old toy train transformer...that would be one of my take home items! Never know what you will find!
