- Today we are constructing a new extended fruit stand giving employment to a small community in the mountains of El Salvador. Here we found a mother who's daughter lost her eye site to diabetes. We took her to the hospital to see if we could help her with your donations. This is part 2 to last weeks video.

Hola Carolina primeramente Que Dios les bendiga a ustedes y la bebé .
Primero Dios lean mi comentario, lo q La Niña tiene nosotros lo vivimos de primera mano por q mi hija me la diagnosticaron a la edad de 5 años y actualmente tiene 7 vivimos en EEUU .
Y cuesta llevar un control cuando no cuentas con las herramientas , está niña necesita terapia de insulina algo q en mi país es difícil tener acceso por su costo, también no cuentan con glucometro y las tiritas para medir glucosa que son bien caras y se tienen q usar mínimo 8 al día para llevar un buen control.
Nosotros aquí contamos con seguro médico y tenemos acceso , yo colecto y pido hasta demás para poder ayudar a alguien q las necesite.
Se q ustedes se la pasan ocupados y ayudando a mucha gente pero si me pudieran enviar un pin de locación o la dirección con ciudad y departamento del puesto de frutas puedo enviar a mi hermano para q les entregue un glucometro y las tiritas q mande para allá hace días y así poder seguirle ayudando en futuro podré ir y transmitirles todo el conocimiento q he adquirido con esta terrible condición autoimmune.
Q si no se maneja bien puede ser fatal a largo plazo .
Para una persona con diabetes tipo 1 (aka diabetes juvenil).
Ojala le hayan hecho el examen hemoglobina.
Para estar un poco fuera de peligro de complicaciones tiene q mantenerse en un rango de 120 a 200 mg/dL y la gente no tiene idea de lo q cuesta .
Si no tienes las herramientas .
Tiene q aprender a contar carbohidratos y se le asignará un ratio de cuanta insulina por cantidad de carbohidratos.
15g - 1 unidad de insulina (ejemplo )
También necesita insulina de acción retardada .
En fin un dolor de cabeza para ellos por el alto costo de los suplementos.

From the little things, like keeping the fruit and veg out of the rain, to the big things like helping a young woman have surgery to save her sight, you really are lifesavers. Saving lives and changing lives for the better. What an amazing legacy.

But why does every campaign only make $1420.00? Every single fundraiser video has the exact same amount supposedly raised? It is not mathematically possible to raise the exact same amount for every fundraiser they have done? Something is off!!

A little story of hope. I know of a man who was in early 20's who had lost his sight due to having diabetes. He ended up having a liver and a pancreas transplant and he got his eyesight back and he's still living, he even eats fast food as a measure of what his health is like.

I understand what the mother is saying on how could this be happening to them, and the people who do bad things in life have everything, especially good health. I use to think the same because of what my mother has been through for all her life, and because of what I have been through... But now I got lucky three years ago when I found the most perfect guy ever. He was able to help me get the mental health help, and right now he is helping me get through this newly diagnosed Lupus. I feel like at some point in our lives we have to suffer before we die, but either after, or before our suffering we are able to feel content, and loved.

My 12 year old son is diabetic diagnosed at 14 months old.. my heart hurts so bad for that little girl. I pray with everything I have that she receives the help that she needs and she can get help with insulin.

Ella necesita terapia de insulina de por vida y se tiene q educar a su madre y enseñarle a contar los carbohidratos de cada comida .
Lamentablemente la insulina es cara y es difícil para personas de escasos recursos. Yo puedo ayudar con glucometro y test strips cada vez q pueda mandarle para q chequee sus niveles de glucosa diariamente.
Necesito saber donde viven

I have a theory that the crying we do when watching these videos and situations like crying for good reasons actually helps my mental health.
