This song is for the anime Log Horizon. It will not included in their upcoming album.
This one took off and even with the song done it's still going 100/mph in my head. I love your reaction and agree it's nice to have more English lyrics yet still keep the Band-Maid feel to the song. I hope this does become a breakthrough album for them and enables them to reach out to more audiences around the world. The world needs more Band-Maid!
The job done by the rythm section (Akane AND MIKU) in this song is simply amazing, but the lead section (Kanami AND MISA) are creating, during the entire song, something similar to a live creature that constantly shakes, churns and try to escape like a fish out of water. I´m actually very impressed.
Kanami plays a riff that reminds me of a muted descending riff that Ritchie Blackmore played with Deep Purple on the song Highway Star. This is not to take away from her highly original style. I have heard her mention Carlos Santana but never Ritchie Blackmore. Just a coincidence I suppose. Great minds think alike.
Don’t forget they will perform this live on their next online okyuji which will also be 2 hours long i think? Dec 13 in japan!

I certainly hope that the folks at the Band Maid camp find a more efficient and accessible means to distribute their music. I would like to purchase all of their albums and Bluerays but at this time it's pretty cost prohibitive.

This song actually WON'T be in the upcoming album - Unseen World. It is Single only. Also don't miss out the B-side - Don't be long (instrumental). Also an amazing track that has been "upgraded" since they played in live in USA in 2019.
Log Horizon is an isekai anime. Gamers are suddenly transported into a medieval version of Akihabara they are playing in Log Horizon 2. The characters in this world all have heads-up displays of status screens and items they can scroll through. A video game in anime form. Not my favorite, but I haven't seen the original series.
hope that they will play live at the next concert on stream :D and maybe with the add of solo :D

They owned this. This is my fifth reaction in a row and from my first listen, while it's definitely Band Maid, it has a bits reminiscent of "Kuusou Mesorogi" by Yousei Teikoku which was used as an anime OP as well. They also had their songs "Kyusei Αργυροσ" and "Disorder" used as anime OP, both kick @ss.
Definitely looking forward to to this album---which version to get though🤔

Anime songs are just songs in general, the same as how “My heart will go on” was used in Titanic. Differentiating it, is the same as coining terms like “Movie songs” “TV show songs”, Doesn’t that sound ridiculous?
A lot of Anime series feature already released hit songs from artists of various genres depending on the genre/theme of the show itself. And then, there are others who specifically commission for an artist to write one for a particular show.
And often the only influence the Anime studio side has on the song is in its lyrics, which was the case with BM here too.
So generalising all these songs as one type just coz they were used in an Anime show makes no sense.
Just watch these openings from 4 popular shows (btw 3 of them are action/adventure genres) and try putting them in a single group ;)

MISA MISA MISA! a last hurrah for "Revolver Records" but will NOT be on their first "Pony Canyon" Album. Totally agree with the Anime OP thing some are Good for example the Previous one for Log Horizon (the Anime this song is for) or Scandals Shunken Sentimental and a couple of others but mostly I skip them.
