I’m on scenario seven. Happy I went all in. My friend and I are having a great time . I hope it sells well , as I would love to see a lot more expansions! Happy to see the score . This is a great coop!!
It's a dice tower essential game....of course the score was going to be good.. 😊 I was not happy with the miniatures or the organizers, or the oversized box. BUT the game was pretty good.
This looks great, but we already play a lot of Marvel United, Marvel Champions, and Marvel Zombies. If I bring another super hero game to game night, my friends will supermurder me.
Please answer if you know. Does the game adjust for the number of players at the table? If scenarios call for 3 to 4 heroes, do I have to sit there and manage multiple decks?
super interested in this game. i just keep hearing good things. this is what i want from marvel games. but its almost like theyre avoiding this style of game for some reason.
This is the only game I went for every expansion and had painted minis. I love defenders of the realm and sentinels, until sentinels became too fiddly and I bought the mobile app. This game is fantastic
I couldn’t disagree with Tom much more than I do on this review. This game looks good but to say it “Kills” Sentinels which is a totally different style of game is absurd. There is plenty of room in a collection for both. If you play the new Definitive Edition of Sentinels is absolutely amazing and so much more streamlined than the original which did have too much math and overhead. Bringing Sentinels into this review in any way other than to acknowledge the IP feels totally unnecessary and irresponsible.
This reminds me of their review of Unmatched: Tales to Amaze: all near perfect scores. I bought it soon after. Regretted it immediately. DT loves their superhero games.
@@secondstone4968 This is just a personal preference - nothing "wrong" with the game. I just don't think I like skirmish games. This was the first one I'd ever played. The Unmatched system is just too simple at its core. I need more variety and I am someone who loves co-op games. Probably my favourite genre, but the Unmatched system is not my style. It is obviously well-loved by many including DT.
I also got unmatched adventures based on the dice tower review and was thoroughly disappointed due to the simplicity. I've played freedom five twice in the last week and enjoyed both plays quite a bit. There's a ton going on and you always have so many options on what to do on your turn.
I really dislike these pandemic style games where all info is there available for everyone, hence you can see when someone is taking an sub-optimal turn, hence it leads to alpha gaming, even if being a dictator is not your goal, it is simply the game requesting input from everyone. It is solo game which multiple people playing together.
I havent found a crisis control game i liked yet either for exactly that reason. But the fact that you have a hand of cards which are hidden and the sheer amount of things happening made me back this, cannot wait to see whether this will be the crisis control game fixing Alpha gaming for me
@@jonatan2969 I think the open vs secret hand is optional, meaning the game was not really designed for hidden cards (as Gloomhaven was for example), so I tend to think this is not enough to avoid alpha gaming. I also dont buy the usual argument that "there is too much going on" to avoid the same problem. Anyway, hope the game works for you, I will prob pass again until further notice.
@nurseruben5431 ha ha ill always take Sentinels expansions. But not more Pandemic. I almost backed this until the miniatures version just got stupid with its cost.
Why? Because it's a Dice Tower Essential? Dice Tower Essentials are in that line BECAUSE I like them. I won't give a game a good review if I don't like it.
@@thedicetower of course you love it, it's part of your line, yes. but you guys are reviewers and critics and you are blurring the line when you also have a financial stake in the product you're promoting. it's just not a good look. if you dont see the problem with it, i dont know what else to say.

This landed on my doorstep right when you guys posted this video!
I hope they make more expansions in the future. Would love to see Expatriette added too, as she is my favorite.
I do too, but am worried it won’t happen due to the KS issues.
My group is loving the game!!!
So where's this fit among Tokyo Sidekick, Batman TDKR, and all the other games which are basically this, effectively Pandemic-with-superpowers?
Please answer if you know. Does the game adjust for the number of players at the table? If scenarios call for 3 to 4 heroes, do I have to sit there and manage multiple decks?
Incredible game and my 6.5 year old loves playing it with me, he he. Blue ribbion kickstarter game for sure!
Joey coming in with the Galaxy Quest quote. 🫡
By Grabthar's hammer, nice catch!
Where can you buy it?
I'm surprised, considering the theme but also some of the mechanics, there was no comparison drawn to marvel united
How does this compare to another game that looks similar Hours of need?

Surprised Flip 7 was not on your list.

Sounds pretty much like pandemic heroes to me and i never got how people like pandemic for more than one or two games.
Yeah, Tom talked this up a lot but really this is a variant of Pandemic. Not sure what is going on here but this feels off
It's a variant of Pandemic the same way a deckbuilder is a variant of Dominion. I don't think they feel similar much at all.
Still waiting for my copy. This project is delayed so long I have all but given up on it. Really puts me off backing anything else on Kickstarter.
Then Kickstarter might not be for you. It's ok! It's not for everyone

😮That’s been on my list to get. What didn’t you like about it?
Time Bloat real bad

They are recommending what they like, not what they think that everyone else will like
Dice tower essentials, average 9.5.....im sure it's good but I feel a bias is here even if its unintentional

U got a point here.
There's too much going on in this game for there to be alpha gaming.

Pandemic with Superpowers, I feel we need more. As much as I love the normal Sentinels.
You mean, we need more expansions?
@nurseruben5431 ha ha ill always take Sentinels expansions. But not more Pandemic. I almost backed this until the miniatures version just got stupid with its cost.
Have you played The LOOP? It is definitely a “Pandemic with superpowers” type of game.
You don't need the miniature version, there's a retail version.
@thedicetower which new me is cool with, old me...... Was too tempted 😅
This felt like a paid advertisement to me.
??????? If they like the game, are they supposed to lie? I'm baffled by your comment.
Well, it's not.
yea...i dont think you guys should be reviewing this. a playthrough or preview is fine.
I'm really glad they reviewed it. If you think their bias makes the review untrustworthy, that's for you to decide for yourself.
