I watch several gorilla families all over the world and compared to all of them this Silverback looks very thin. Momotaro, Shabani, Frank, Haoko, D'jeeco, Oumbi, and my local bachelor group in Dallas. Anyone who doesn't agree needs to search those names I just listed to see what a healthy Silverback really looks like.
Richard does look very thin but he is also the second tallest gorilla in captivity history at 6"4 but he is 378lbs. Hasani jnr is also a thin silver back at 329lbs and Marcus of Dallas is a small silver back and Maka of LA zoo is a small silverback. Taro and Haoko of Japan zoos are both huge weighing well over 500lbs
Monta and Shabani are close to 500lbs and Momotaro is also a tall silver back who weighs around 420lbs but Momotaro has the sort of frame were he could easily fill it out and weigh well over 500lbs like Haoko and Taro
My heart just bleeds for Richard ! What a way to live out your life no grass, real trees with leaves they have to bunch up that staw crap to lay on. I would say I have been watching a lot of zoo's and this zoo is just sad.

I agree cus in wild they eat and sleep all day and these dont get much at all through out day accept a cabbage chucked here and there 😡 wheres their sticks they munch on all day to get the seed amd leaves nettles thistles etc? Where are they? Can't see any lying around for them to get all day
I'm convinced they have everything what they need in Zoo.Definitely they are not starving, got varies kinds of vegetables, fruits, branches with leaves....but there must be limit because of their weight. There is also outdoor pavilion which they visit very often. I wish all animals to live in nature, jungle, forest... but if it's not possible they must be in Zoo. I'm sure Zoo Prague takes care about animals carefully and honestly.
