I live in Texas. It’s 83 degrees here today and I’m wearing my Daintylion sweater by Rebecca McKenzie. Made it in The Fibre Co. Cirro and it is as light as a feather and I wear it all spring and summer long. I made mine with short sleeves and the a-line shaping Rebecca has a worksheet for built into the pattern.
My favorite warm weather knits thus far: 1. Ooh La la by Isabell Kramer. I made mine from K+C Hand Dyed Cotton. It is my go to summer evening sweater! 2. "Aisha" Lace Top by Olga Grishina I made with a fingering Finece Giza Cotton yarn and it turned out lovely. I have plans to make another one for this summer. 3. Fosette by Devin Ventre. I used Lion Brand Truboo. It worked up so quickly and is soooo drapy.... I really enjoy wearing it in the spring and summer. I would like to make another one for this summer in more neutral colors.
An idea I had was to wear warm-weather knits over a turtleneck in the cooler months to get a longer wearing season out of them. There are so many good patterns - thanks for sharing!
Plain yoke tee 20 solo added to the Favourites. It's simply perfect and perfectly simple! Thanks for curating such a lovely set of knits Kaci. I'm with you on the topdown preference. I feel so much more confident with the try-it-on method.
Thank you for the ideas, thank you for sharing them with us. Now I have on my needles Umbria Summer Top by Cookie the Knitter and Hällevik - blouse by Wool & Beyond. Next will be Pavuk vest by Teti Lutsak ❤
Wonderful and inspiring episode! Amen to your comment about having to wear a cami underneath a summer top. Definitely defeats the purpose of trying to stay cool.🥵
The best summer knit I made last summer was definitely my Flores by Eri Shimazu that I shamelessly copied from Mel of Cosy Cadigans and made it in KFO cotton/merino blend in Purple Elephant. It’s a very loose fitting airy knit with a deep raglan and boxy body. Also for very hot weather is the sleeveless Trunk Island tank by Beth MacDonaldstone made in worsted weight cotton with pretty tie shoulders.
Lots of great patterns. I especially liked the peachy/rusty one. One top I knitted last summer was the Sahara top, lovely lace details. I used a cotton/bamboo blend. I live in Australia and it can get very hot here. Love your podcast 😊
Another excellent and well curated episode. Thank you! I recently saw interview with Red Stag Fibre creator and was surprised to learn his wife is owner of The Modern Skein, TX. I love her shop, his yarn, and your podcasts, so win, win, win!
My favourite summer pattern: The no sweat shirt from Park Williams. I am wearing that all the time, just love it. Looks great on everybody, in every colour. I would knit another one right away if anything were to happen to mine! 😊
Thanks for this round-up. I am excited to make the Geometryii that you showed. I also appreciate the yarn descriptions - very helpful for someone with not as much experience with different yarns.
I’m enjoying these spring/summer pattern idea videos! One top I’m super excited to make is the Petal Party Crop by Samantha Guerin. I have also saved the Lesley Tee by Noma Ndlovu, it just looks fun!
🌴☀️Your welcome for the pattern💐 I’m still figuring out the yarn for it perhaps a linen blend because it’s always hot in south Florida. I quite enjoy this type of video and enjoy it every single time 🎉 & I have to say again…your spun yarn is gorgeous!!!☀️🌴
I am swatching for the Adriata top by Joji Locatelli while watching this. I am all about the summer knits! I've already finished the Moonset Tee and Collette Tee for this spring/summer, and I have swatched for the Florence tank and just need to get more yarn so I can knit that up! I also plan to knit the Mila Top by Sari Nordlund. I applied for the test and fingers crossed I get it, if not then I am ready for when that pattern is released this summer!
I’ve been eyeing up the Juno top but I’m with you on the strapless situation 😅 I’m very much considering a black straight edged version and combining the straps and the long sleeves to make a funky “cold shoulder” garment! I just don’t know if I’ve got the confidence 😬😋
Thank you for this great pattern round-up! I wasn’t sure if I was going to knit any summer tops this year but this podcast has inspired me and I am adding some of these to my queue. A lovely top I made last year was the Wildclover tee by Alicia Plummer, which is a basic raglan but with a lovely lace border around the bottom. It is DK weight, I used Drops Belle. Happy Spring!
@@YoungfolkKnits - I really like it and plan to use it again. Of course it’s hard to beat the price, but I also found it to have a lovely texture and drape.
Hey. I am just binding off skeindeers soleie shell tank and it's really nice. Also Joji has a beautiful new shirt pattern that is on my list called Adriata. Thank you for sharing and have a great day. Greetings from india
I love these pattern roundups. How about one focused on bee-inspired patterns? I love bees, maybe because my name comes from the Latin word for honey bee ❤
Hi Casi. I would recomment two Danish designers. Petitknit and Misknit. They both got some lovely summer tops (and a whole lot more) 🙈 Thanks for your lovely podcast. Sorry for my english. I'm Danish.
Another wonderful show Kaci! I love your summer sweater selections and wanted to suggest a pattern patiently waiting for me to knit! It is the Roto Sleeveless Top and I will use We Are the Knitter's The Cotton in a Terracotta color! Have a great week and Blair suggested that I mention that we work together on Bainbridge Island. 🧶👋
Knitty Natty just released a yarn tour of Red Stag Fibres dye studio. The owner talks about the Polwarth/Mashem blend. A very interesting video. It seems like a great, quality conscious company. Your video was lots of fun, as always, Kaci. I am burning to make a Tolsta Tee, but it will have to wait until I finish my Hitofude Cardigan.
What about the off-the-shoulder top with a slight bit of positive ease to wear over a dress? It could be really cute with tied /ribbon straps or ruffled straps, maybe. Or under a pinafore style dress!
I love your videos discussing possible patterns! Thank you for doing them! Did you ever knit the Elena Pullover? I think I remember you saying you cast it on. I just started mine. It’s light and airy, just knit with knitting for olive silk mohair. I think it will be very pretty for cool nights!
Have you checked out ark organic cotton wide strap sports bras? They are super nice, size up in the bra styles, one would look good under the off the shoulder top, they have great colours😊
Thank you for sharing your tops. There is a pattern seven sisters top by blue sky fibers but I like the pattern did not like there worsted organic cotton at all so am looking for a cotton blend worsted any suggestions would appreciate it. 😊
Wool and linen both are 5000mHz but should not be worn together as they will cancel each other out since the frequencies run in the opposite directions (its like wearing "dead" low frequency fabrics like polyester and workout wear)
I love the Geometry Tee but the projects posted on Ravelry so far don’t impress. You need the right body type (very thin and long-waisted) to do this pattern justice and it needs plenty of ease. Beautiful design though.
All the Tolsta patterns by Rebecca Clow are the top of my warm weather list this year.
Her new summer versions really appeal to me. The tank, with straps wide enough to cover bra straps is the perfect sleeveless tee for me.
It’s on my list!
That shade of blue looks absolutely stunning on you . Soo classy!
Oh thank you!
As someone from KY. I am enjoying watching such a talented knitter that share my accent. 😂
Oh thank you! 🤣
25:26 Shout- out from Aberdeenshire! (shire is pronounced sure, but I do love the lord of the rings reference!)
You’re in the 70s and I’m looking at a snowstorm 😂 😭 I need these spring inspirations to actually believe that it’s coming!!!
Same here in Vermont 🙃
Oh boy! It’s getting warm here! I wish we would have gotten more snow tho 😢
We still have time to knit spring clothing while we are trapped indoors
YOUR PODCAST IS DELIGHTFUL. Thank you so much for sharing our knitting adventures with us.
Thank you so much!
Ewe Knit Toronto is my local yarn store and the sweater your knitting is beautiful in person!

Kerri Blumer has tons of great summer patterns! The crop twist top and her newest one with a peplum are super cute! Thanks for the great podcast! ❤
I just discovered your channel - so helpful and peaceful! Thank you!
My favourite summer knit is the Hatsuki tee by Rievive on Ravelry. The lace was so fun to knit, and the FO is so easy to wear.
Ooooo I’ll look it up
Great pattern round up! So many cute ones. Thanks, friend.❤
Thank you! 😊
Wonderful and inspiring episode! Amen to your comment about having to wear a cami underneath a summer top. Definitely defeats the purpose of trying to stay cool.🥵
So true!

I love that you move the yarn over your neck. I have alot of sensitively to animal fibers. So I love ❤️ your fiber recommendations.❤
Oh thank you! Yes I have to do a chest/neck test lol

Starting my Friday knitting with you! xo
Awww thanks!!!
Another fantastic video. I like the Maema DK Cardigan by Pin and Pin.It’s a brand new pattern.

Really great pattern ideas!! Can't wait for spring/summer knits!! Wonderful as always to spend time with you.
Thanks so much!
I have been looking at the Cumulus Tee by Petite Knit. It has a V neck...yeah! Very classic style.
Yes!! So classy
I’m enjoying these spring/summer pattern idea videos! One top I’m super excited to make is the Petal Party Crop by Samantha Guerin. I have also saved the Lesley Tee by Noma Ndlovu, it just looks fun!
Sounds great! 👍
I'm interested in the Tolsta Tee by CreaBea Knits. It looks like a good tee for any wardrobe.
Love You Sistar!!!!

Yea! Maybe Sandnes garn line or drops!

The Simple Summer Tank is a great pattern you might want to look at too
I will!

An option for the off the shoulder top is to make i-cordstraps.
True!

Lovely inspiration! I would also like to make The Academic vest. Another great vest is the Riptide Slipover by Jennifer Shiels Toland.
Sounds great! I will check that one out!
Nice choices.
Thanks!

That is awesome! The Tolsta is very popular!
I 100% agree I never do strapless.....
Nope lol
Kaci! We should knit academics for September! It's been on my list for so long and I'm really itching to cast it on!
Girl don’t tempt me! I love it!
@@YoungfolkKnits it's been on my list for so long! I feel like it needs to happen soon!
Just checked out Red Stag Fibers. Not sure whether to curse you or thank you. ! Their colors!!!! I want / need them all.
Haha!
Hello from Swansea, Illinois.
Hello!
I've been making Claudia Quintanilla's Arigato Tee on repeat.
It so pretty!
What about the off-the-shoulder top with a slight bit of positive ease to wear over a dress? It could be really cute with tied /ribbon straps or ruffled straps, maybe. Or under a pinafore style dress!
Great idea!!
Have you tried Magpie Fiber's Equinox sport? It's a linen/silk blend that is so luscious. I highly recommend!
Not yet! I have used the worsted weight but not the sport!
I love your videos discussing possible patterns! Thank you for doing them! Did you ever knit the Elena Pullover? I think I remember you saying you cast it on. I just started mine. It’s light and airy, just knit with knitting for olive silk mohair. I think it will be very pretty for cool nights!
I haven’t finished but did cast it on!
Kaci, check out the love letter top. On the top of my queue.
Will do!!
I’m also pining after warmer temperatures 😢 it’s 40 degrees F in the north of England …. Still freezing
Oh wow! Yes we are a bit ahead on spring time temps
Have you checked out ark organic cotton wide strap sports bras? They are super nice, size up in the bra styles, one would look good under the off the shoulder top, they have great colours😊
I'll check it out!
It’s arq with a q! I just looked I ❤ my stuff from them.😊
Thank you for sharing your tops. There is a pattern seven sisters top by blue sky fibers but I like the pattern did not like there worsted organic cotton at all so am looking for a cotton blend worsted any suggestions would appreciate it. 😊

Bahahaha 😂

Came for the knitting. Stayed for the accent😂
Haha! Thanks
I love it!
Still winter here in Sweden😅
I wish it was a bit cooler here
The Flex
I’ll check it out!
How goes the progress on the family portrait sweaters?
I’ve decided mine is going to my pohjola!
I love the Geometry Tee but the projects posted on Ravelry so far don’t impress. You need the right body type (very thin and long-waisted) to do this pattern justice and it needs plenty of ease. Beautiful design though.
