Heard this tonight on a sixty acre farm amongst the orchards and tents, and cider, and dancin, and bubble machines and fairy lights.......magical..........thanks Dan and Sophie......love to you both.........always.
Saw these guys in Luxembourg on Tuesday with Calexico. I had not really listened to them previously - now I'm addicted. Live they had such an honesty and conviction in their music. Truly beautiful stuff.
I can't believe it took me this long to hear about this band and song. But, great stuff! Nice! I've started listening and now I can't stop. It's always great when that happens. Rare and great.
I forgot I had this video on and thought I was listening to the album, they're just as good live as they are on the studio version... Or maybe more magical.
People need to be open to all types of music and not dismiss it due to superficial labels like "mainstream" or "underground". Be open to all kinds of music, trust your instincts, and you will be surprised what else you find out there.
@3249193 I've never commented on youtube but in this case I felt compelled to. I used to share a similar view. I rejected mainstream music largely because it was popular. I've learned in recent years that this is a misguided view. Generally, if an artist is incredibly popular, there is a reason for it. They most likely possess some modicum of talent. They may not produce music in the genre that you typically listen to, but, most likely, the artist is talented and produces quality work.
There are some very original, creative and authentic artists at the mainstream level (Gorillaz, The White Stripes, Lupe Fiasco, to name a few). Remember, when you dismiss music as "mainstream" or "underground" or "indie" you are only hurting yourself, and most likely missing out on some really good songs in the process.
Of course, some artists are a product of great marketing or are a passing fad, but you are only hurting yourself by dismissing music as "popular" before actually listening and determining if you like it. Imagine if Blind Pilot entered the main stream. You wouldn't listen anymore because a lot of people liked them? That's foolish. As with people who only listen to mainstream music, your viewpoint is flawed.
All these years, this song is still amazing.
I don't think I'll ever take this band off my playlist. Timeless music.

Great performance, but the editing work of KEXP is quite shoddy....
So excited that they're playing here in Des Moines next week.
