    Thank you for putting this out. All good information. Shameless plug…, It’s always a great idea to have a direct connection with someone that has access to the auctions. Most days you need a dealer license to do so. I’m located in Phoenix Arizona and can help, whoever is interested to buy and sell their vehicles wholesale at the auction for example, liquidating if necessary or adding to the fleet when the time is right. I would love to hear from anyone that would like to take me up on this. Thanks again for the great video!

    Fellow turo hosts here! Watching this tonight! My question may have been covered.
    Deduction and depreciation question. As hosts are we able to write off both car mileage and vehicle depreciation? Or we only able to pick one for taxes.

    • @CarSharingJho
      @CarSharingJho  Рік тому +1

      You have to choose to write off either mileage or actual expenses. From my research and my specific case (yours may vary) I chose actual expenses. We were able to write of the depreciation of the vehicles as well.

    As always, I love hearing about Turo hacks from all sorts of hosts. Recently I heard a new interesting idea, but not sure if it's allowed by Turo, and/or if how good it really is. As we know, offering free delivery is a huge boost to utilization. But the issue with most hosts is that once they drop off a rental, they then need to spend money on uber/lyft to get a ride back home, plus most of the time they then need uber/lyft to pick up the car when trip is over. This can cost many hosts around $100 for the 2 one-way trips for 1 rental. Besides the cost, the time spent going back and forth (4 one-way trips) is very valuable. Assuming you don't have someone to drive you around, I don't think there is any way to get around the $100 cost (besides reducing the cost via bus/train for some... which takes more time). If you know a way to reduce this cost, please share. But what the other host suggested, will drastically help save your time and better automate your business (if allowed). They suggested to offer free delivery, but instead of picking up the person at their location, you instead uber/lyft them for free to your car's location. In the end you still end up paying for the 2 rideshare trips, but now you don't have to interrupt your day to make the trips yourself. Thoughts?

      We don’t offer any sort of delivery but I I have heard of this before. Im not sure if it’s against the rules but I think it could work. You would have to let guests know in the description/messaging before they arrive to the airport because I have seen negative reviews where the guests were blindsided by the surprise that their vehicle wasn’t waiting for them in the airport.
