Thank you for the amazing reaction to this masterpiece by the very best symphonic metal out there (in my opinion). This song is so well composed. Simone always sounds from out of this world, and yet she still becomes better and more powerful just like the whole band. It seems there are no limits to Epica! Forever and ever! Greetings from the Netherlands, the land of Epica! 🇳🇱🖤🤘🏻
when I hear this song I sometimes think why epica hasn't been asked for the soundtrack of lord of the rings... great reaction! glad you liked it and coen on the keyboard is the best! greetings from the Netherlands 🖤
EPICA….what else can one say?! Huge fan here for years and they never cease to amaze. Music pros say a band usually peaks after 7-10 years, most do…but the best continually improve that Epica sets the bar on that fact! Have you heard any of their songs from their last work…it is an EP album? All 7 songs are collabs with other artists…so different and sooooo good! Yeah Coen (keyboardist), is a nut lol! So talented too, like all of them! Great reaction!! Thumbs up!
That's some ear-candy right there. lol... Epica can be a great escape from the everyday noise. Even while reminding us we can grow and be the change. It's fun to watch your eyes and smile while their music evolves as the composition progresses. Enjoy. Blind Doc Jones
Another great reaction! This is their Magnus Opus in my opinion. Such an amazing journey. I love Epica's lyrics which are often about critical thinking and self empowerment. Coen (keyboardist) is quite the characther and often during concerts he will strap on his Nu Motion curved keyboard and play while crowd surfing the audience. All of the performances from this show are amazing. Omega Alive was a livestream of performances that were recorded live over several days and then streamed for their fans during the pandemic. Other great songs from this show include Unchain Utopia, Skeleton Key, Once Upon a Nightmare, Rivers (this is an acapella version that is outstanding and worthy of reaction as well). Other recommendations include Cry for the Moon for a very young Epica, Unleashed live from the Retrospect concert, and Sirens - of Blood and Water official music video. For a new band I highly recommend the Dutch gothic symphonic metal band Blackbriar. Their lead singer, Zora, has such a hauntingly beautiful voice and their videos have amazing production and a cool Victorian/Gothic vibe to them. Arms of the Ocean, I'd Rather Burn, and Mortal Remains are great songs to introduce you to them.
Thank you for this video! 🎉❤ This is indeed such a piece of composition! Since the ride for Epica is well launched, I will try to put in focus the fathers of Symphonic Metal. If you can check the band Therion with the song Ginnungagap, especially from the concert Live Gothic (with video), it could wrap up greatly the coverture of Symphonic Metal on this channel! Anyway, keep up your fresh and positive energy! ❤
Great reaction, besides the performance epia songs have always good lyrics with a message. They will not disppoint you, there are no bad epica songs. All from the omega alive video's are great to watch and to listen to. The final lullaby from their 20th aniversery concert, is also a nice one watch or Beyond the Matix live...
hey Lauren; Some background information for your pleasure/leisure Kingdom of Heaven - III KOH is mostly written by Mark (guitar, growl/scream, lyricist & composer) and Isaac (lead guitar, clean/growl, part time lyricist & composer). Mark had been stock with this piece for a very long time. Both Mark & Isaac lost their grand-mother around the same time. Isaac came to Mark and said he had some ideas how the piece could progress, and would Mark be interested in hearing his ideas. Shortly after, they had to reduce a bit the length of this masterpiece. The result, you just heard. KOH 1 is also very beautiful - KOH II is too, but maybe not as accessible? Omega Originally, the album's title was "Omega Point" - and it is no coincidence that the song "Kingdom of Heaven" is the 8th on this 8th album and the number 8 is also included on the album cover art work - if you flip 8 to the side, it becomes the infinity symbol. The human mind is a mystery and a labyrinth of its own. The labyrinth is used on the cover as symbol, and as a metaphor in the lyrics. We come to a point in life, where we try to find the meaning of life or at least the meaning of our life, the goal in our life and what to do - Simone believes in fate, not in coincidence and that make her calm and ready to ride the storms as they come. Even if a situation is bad, it's a life lesson you can learn from. Simone think the pandemic has given us an opportunity to think about the future and to react to global warming and other issues that the younger generation are becoming aware of what is going on. The pandemic is a side effect. Too many people doing whatever they want without thinking of the effect of their actions. The Omega Point correspond to the end point where where everything comes together to a divine unification, and it is the end of Kingdom of Heaven trilogy - Kingdom of Heaven topics have always been the clash between Science and Spirituality - both have to work together to find the true meaning of life. With this last Kingdom of Heaven everything dissolve, become clear and fade into this final point of divine unification. When the Earth reaches the Omega Point everything that exists will become one with divinity. Head voice, chest voice, tessitura? So you know something about singing, that's good! 😉 Simone has been called a "master of mixing" by one vocal coach, because of her use of both chest and head voice and transitioning from one to another effortlessly, or using so-called mixed voice. She really is amazing. If you'd like to hear another longer progressive masterpiece which, unlike KoH, almost no one suggests to reactors: Epica - The Holographic Principle - A Profound Understanding of Reality ua-cam.com/video/CYlQJ_t2iks/v-deo.html
