      I am here to support you and your wonderful channel Sensei. But my advice is to ignore these trolls. They hate period , no amount of argument will change them ever. They are gutless as they would never talk this way to your face in the real world. They just want acknowledgement. What drives them truly crazy is to be treated like POC in the real world are and have their opinions ignored.
      Now if I were to respond I would say something like " Hey granger I see you have come off the natural high WP like you experience when you found out Tamir Rice was murdered. Why waste your time here when you could be setting up a WP defense fund for the cop who murdered him."
      Or the honest route I would say listen "Just say POC Bad , WP Good" instead of all this. It's like watching professional wrestling.
      You could also try to anticipate his lies. He is black or has black friends.Or will do WP speak of paying lip service. Like when someone says " I mean no disrespect BUT".
      Now I am very sarcastic so I could go on and on. I am not telling you what to do Sensei , just some friendly advice.Please don't allow trolls who hate you dictate in anyway your mood or actions. Again just advice, you must do what you feel is right and I support you in however you wish to handle it.
      Did not mean to be preachy not my intent. :)

      I remember one troll who who stated every time he gets a response thats a win. A win ? Does that mean his mother will make PBJ for him with the crust cut off ? Maybe. Or he is such a zero in real life that any acknowledgment is something. Somehow in his mind this means he matters. Now I am sure he will fire back he is wealthy, high paying job and a amazing wife. Now we know this is a lie, but being a troll is about self delusion anyway so that will hardly matter to him.

      I know this is a bit late, just came across this video lol. As a disclaimer, I'm a hispanic dude, thus I'm not too familiar with social dynamics in the black community.
      Anyway, what are your thoughts about Azealia's recent response to a instagram message asking her dating preferences?
      While I'm cool with IR relationships, it does seem a bit hypocritical how she claims to hate white people so much but yet later states how they're "easier" to deal with at home. On top of that, after slamming White America for appropriating the hip hop industry, she then goes into the arms of the ones who's wealth is potentially stealing the culture. Another point being that AB broadly brushes that Black men take Black women for granted, which goes against her argument that black people shouldn't be generalized. That said, I'm aware there are tons of BM celebrities who say terrible things involving BW, which seem to be covered in some of your vids tackling sexism, just that two wrongs don't make a right. The difference seems to be that it's an even deeper blow when an artist who is implied to be "pro black" ends up enacting the same action she accuses others of doing.
      Initially I liked her "free-spirit" persona but sometimes I feel like she shoots herself in the foot by contradicting past notions she advocated for in previous interviews. For all we know, she could just be trolling again though I'm not sure what to believe anymore lol.

    • @SenseiAishitemasu
      @SenseiAishitemasu  9 років тому

      niners0ul I hate the phrase 'two wrongs don't make a right.' WHAT DOES THAT MEAN?

    • @SenseiAishitemasu
      @SenseiAishitemasu  9 років тому

      niners0ul Two wrongs can definitely make a right.

    • @SenseiAishitemasu
      @SenseiAishitemasu  9 років тому

      niners0ul And Banks has said multiple times that for a long time BM refused to date her because of their own issues. If she chooses to date IR because of that then i can't fault her for that *shrugs* she has also said that she dates white men and still understands concepts of white supremacy and the power dynamics that are in place. it couldn't be me but its HER life, i don't give a fuck, really. It's not the same as people that date IR for the sole purpose of erasing their Blackness or the ones that think dating IR has somehow made racism null and void.

    • @niners0ul
      @niners0ul 9 років тому

      Sensei Aishitemasu By the phrase "two wrongs don't make a right" I'm indicating how one ought to hold the position they've stood by at first, rather than contradicting it at a later time. She called out the white supremacist structure for generalizing the black community, but then later responds to a message that ends up generalizing black men(portion of black community). She's doing the very thing that she was calling someone else out for. I understand that she's had struggles with BM in her past, my issue isn't her dating out, rather that she generalizes the very community she was publicly claiming to fight for. For instance, being hispanic, I understand there are bad apples in my community, though that doesn't mean I will mention those experiences to generalize onto the entire group, because that would indeed be giving a bad image to all of the innocent ones.
      Don't take these messages as if I hate your outlook, overall I do like your videos :).

    hahahaha I'm Australian and that accent was actually pretty good. Your videos are great and extremely insightful. I wish America had more platforms for intelligent people like you to step forward and discuss racial issues. It seems hard for black people to overcome the struggles they face because they're not given a voice. Here in Australia we have this TV show called Q&A where everyday Australians can come on and ask a federal government any question they want and we have conversations about the social issues affecting our country. It's sad that your opinions are relegated to UA-cam videos. You guys (the U.S) need a TV show where racial issues can be discussed and debated intellectually and maturely.

Obviously she spoke nothing but the truth in that interview and if somebody disagrees it's because they can't handle the truth and yes, Charli XCX is the one responsible for the success of Fancy.

    I know I'm late BUUTTTTT I love the video! I feel like you were right on the money when addressing the fact that Nicki Minaj(and black artists in general) have to work REALLY HARD to get mainstream(RE:white) exposure, fans and accolades(Grammys of course) and then here comes Igloo Australia after just three years or so getting widespread media attention, a number one hit and Grammy nominations in ONE YEAR! Like that really upsets me and black people in general because we as a group have to work so hard to get noticed for so little and then white people get noticed for basically being mediocre. I just hate all of this...

  • @HumanKenDoll2024
    @HumanKenDoll2024 9 років тому +12

    Igloo doesn't give a fuck about hip hop or black culture in general. Lord Jamar raised an important point when he voiced his opinions on the beef she had with Snoop Dogg. Why was she so upset that he compared her to an albino black person? A person with typical African features of a wide nose and strong jawline? What's so ugly about that? Clearly it is to her. Rap is just a hustle for her, she will move on to something else when she's tired of it.

    The issues Azealia Banks brings up are real. Her presentation might be unorthodox but many of her points are valid. For Iggy Azalia to sing about being a slave master, then write an apology saying she feels the lyric 'has been used to unfairly slander my character and paint me as a racist person.' She wrote the words and sang them out, now she says she's been unfairly treated? Rachel Doezal, Iggy Azalia, Chet Hanks, Eminem, Quentin Tarantino, Joss Stone, Al Jolsen, they aren't much different from each other.

    They appropriated and entire continent ! Then appropriated a people to work it ! Then said the land was mostly empty and the slave labor was of minor importance ! Jazz Rock N Roll all white Exodus movie its all the same.
    Appropriation is an old game they have been doing it for a long while now, Rap is just one link in a very long chain of events.

    real talk, its a black thing. when a black artist whos genius comes out, we love em for a little bit but eventually that side of us that "hates" shows it ugly head. we start being hard on them for EVERYTHING like we dont ever want each other to ever win. no real unity. we act like crabs in a bucket. when a white artist comes out whos...meh...white ppl promote the hell outta them, play them on radio, and never pull them down. i hear trash songs played 100 times on radio, performed at events, im like i know what dope is, this white artist is trash ass..why smh not all of them some got talent (not justin beiber) thats our fault we gotta cut that hate out, for years we beefin with each other throwing each other under the bus to be on top, we dont work together often. in fact, most of hip hop listeners are white suburban kids.. know who the real enemy is..it aint who we think it is.

    Speaking the truth right here sis... Don't let selma or kelma or whatever her name is below bring you down to her level. It's fact! no matter which way you try to twist it..Azelia spoke a lot of truth which hit a core with a lot of people. I WISH we were all the same but the fact is we are not! if we are treated with the same level of respect as our caucasian brother/sisters and recognised for our contributions to society,yes this would be a none issue... but it seems throughout history things have not changed much.. black ancient Egyptians who contributed so much to the world were *Smudged* over by the greeks who apparently did it first?! :/ or how about black music artists who were *smudged* over by the white artists like elvis presley, the beatles, the rolling stones...(the list is way too long to mention here) we are now in 2014 and all we are experiencing now is a replay of that *smudging* (In Azelia's words - "just incase we hadn't got the point that our black babies ain't shit!") It's very easier for a white person to get on here and protest against these views but until you've been in this black skin, you don't have a clue. You can't deny history. There may not be chains around our necks anymore but I think Azelia was saying that there is still very much a hard white thumb that intends to *smudge* any greatness we display. Because of this reason it's also important to not look to these award shows for recognition.. We need to pat ourselves on the back and uplift our sisters and brothers daily so we can continue to excel as we always have done.

    For you 20 year olds, there was this group called RUN DMC back in the days, you may have heard of them. Well they were rap/hip hop back in 84-85, they were the #1 artist, everyone looked to them as the kings of rap. But then all of a sudden 3 white dudes named the Beastie Boys came along and destroyed them in record sales. Rasing Hell Run DMC's album had sold 3 million (at that time) on 86, Beastie Boys at that time sold like 5 million (at that time). I'm in my 40's so I remember this like yesterday, the exact same thing this person who I have never heard before was said on RadioScope (if you remember that show), RapSheet, Rap Pages, Word Up....For those that don't know, this is a white man's country, they run it. So of course if a white rapper that is good comes along they are going to support them, but how does that hurt the hip hop culture? It doesn't, Tupac is still the best of all time, PE/NWA are still the greatest rap groups of all time, it's just keeping hip hop in the news, which is good.

    I have a question. I have watched a few of your videos now, and noticed that you refer to black people with unpopular opinions as "new blacks", "Uncle Toms", Oreos, etc. Don't you think that plays into the whole white privelege/black disadvantage thing? It seems like you're basically trying to force all blacks into one stereotypical box, or else they get a label that suggests that they aren't truly black (Oreo) or that they are an undesirable type of black (Uncle Tom). It seems to me that that would be counterproductive to (what I think it's) one of your missions, which is to break the stereotypes of black people. What are your thoughts on this?

If you ever care to watch an episode of 'BTS American Hustle Life', you'll see just how true your statement is.

    I fully agreed with Azealia Banks in that interview and I'm not really a fan of her music nor do I follow her beefs either. You didn't know there is a white answer for everything?...Iggy is an answer/copy. There is a reason Eminem is the best selling rapper of all time...ppl consider him the best rapper of all time. I think Macklemore won b/c he was helping to promote the gay agenda and of course his privilege helped him out. They won't say be more white...they will just want a more commercial image in general though...

      Sensei Aishitemasu Lol I forgot but you're right! He said himself he didn't deserve the grammy! I agree that white mediocrity often trumps black excellence especially in the media. Also, black excellence often means white people are awarded or behind the scenes making tons of $$ off of these artists and entertainers. This spans all media and there are few exceptions which prove this point further. I think only one maybe two black ppl own a sports team although blacks make up most of the players lol. No ownership, no true freedom! Skipping around the point, this is why MJ was killed. This is why Prince had the word slave on his face.

    The Grammy's are yearly awards. Aren't they? I just don't understand why you could be hot about blacks in entertainment especially Rap. We kill in entertainment in america. Its one of our brightest spots, there are far greater places where we are overlooked . We do get nominated for Grammy's,but the best albums just don't win very many.(ie. Kendrick-The Best Album Macklemore- The More Popular Album) Which is not that big of a deal seeing how they vote for the Grammy's and that it's really a popularity contest and not an in dept look into music.(Petey Pablo was nominated for a grammy come on son??) Especially the Hip Hop/ Rap category. Even with that said only 2 white people Eminem and Macklamore have won the grand prize in the Hip Hop category. Only 3 have been nominated if you include the Beastie Boys. We 13-6 right now over 19yrs and Shady won 5 so far. Damn near every artists that's successful in Hip Hop is Black there are only a few whites. The Grammy's don't measure your worth. The Grammy's don't inspire dreams to take over the hip hop world. The music does. To tell the truth I am not a fan of either lady. I don't listen to a lot of female rap but in MY OPINION from what I've heard Iggy makes better more catchy songs for what it is than Azelia Banks. That's why she's winning. Banks should focus on herself and bang out that hit that proves she's better. Because this white girl has knocked her off her pivot by getting her to focus on everything except for her true goal making dope,lasting, real,and heartfelt music for the culture.

    • @justthatdude1119
      @justthatdude1119 9 років тому

      Ok I get that she's white. Does this mean that black hip hop artist only win because they are black? I agree with you on this note, in my opinion she's not that dope but I've heard worst black rappers who've gotten on and prosper today off some bullshit. Should we strip them of their accomplishments? I mean i think Chief Keef is a terrible rapper but I can't say the only reason he's on is because he's black. Those songs that I think are horrible are love by thousands of others. I might not like most of the music or what it stands for but I can't discredit the work put in on his records, promoting, doing shows,interviews, or just having the nuts to go get his dream no matter how far fetched it would be to attain. Iggy being white helps her out because she relates to a larger white audience, true; but that's not the only reason because you can see that she works. Really the main reason is more people like the music than not. She had a better year than Nicki and Banks so we really can't hate on facts. It seems like we are so paranoid "The white people are taking over hip hop, the white people are taking over hip hop" that we have no faith in our ability to drop dope shit that grabs all races ( Which we do all the time by the way). We have been smudging our cultures since we have arrived in America, and that smudging or blending as I would call it only brings dept to the picture. I know its a bunch of shit I left out but I already wrote a novel.

    I think ultimately as long as we place so much value on trying to attain the material things they have in efforts to prove to ourselves and to them that we are "worthy" and "good enough" things will never change. There are more than enough black people with the means to come together (actors and musicians) and create a powerful entity for our own people to thrive and for us to have the ability to protect our kids from injustice but we are more concerned with the things of "their world" i.e. maybachs and tom ford and Michael kors bags. That's the real issue. Classic Slave Mentality. Massa let the house slave go but the house slave say "oh no massa, I's don't know what I would do without dis here plantation, its my whole life. I wonts to stay here wichu and the misses."

    Re Iggy,..isn't that TI's doing though? I've seen the two in interview and it's very tense. It's like TI is about to slip his hand up Iggy's back and move her lips whenever she's asked a pointed question.
    Ellen also asked Iggy a pointed question on her talk show - well, it was pointed only for Iggy. Ellen asked her what she was doing before. Iggy couldn't answer. Every true artist can recite chapter and verse of all the tiny clubs they played in on their way up.. Not so with Iggy.
    Azealia seems to know that it's TI who is the Svengali behind Iggy's in-excellence. It's complicated now when a black man - in this case - is behind the smudging.

    It's not about colour it's about black people supporting black artist. I love my black people but it is so dumb to say that Iggy can't make the music that she wants to make. Iggy is living her dream, not because she makes shit music but because people made there own choice to support her and it is not Iggy's fault that a lot of people love her. If u don't like that alot of black female Hop Pop artist is not as big as Iggy then maybe you should start supporting them. And that Banks is a just a very very sad and negative girl

But if you knew anything about the music industry today you would know that its all about your connects and who you know. not white privileges lol. Ti discovered iggy the same way wayne discovered nicki. which is how they get into the mainstream so fast and get nominated. the same way these other shitty ass rappers like young thug, rich homie quan, and even Trinidad james get nominated.

    Hi, Sensei, here greetings from Spain :)
    Just wanted to express my opinion about all this crazy stuff involving Nicki, Iggy and Azealia... and I say it this way because this is the order in time in which I discovered each of these singers. Just for that reason (and it's just my opinion) I just think that it was the fans who decided who is/was better or who eclipses who, cause I mean, Nicki kinda started being famous internationally because of her dirty tongue, colorful style and big ass... then came Iggy who was helped by TI and maybe thats why Azealia wasn't payed that much attention cause she went on her own and kinda doing what she wanted, lets say she kinda had that talent in her and it just came out at its own rhythm, where as Iggy had some help but was eventually supported by a lot of people. So the reason I say all that is that... firstly I love all three singers, secondly I think its imposible for any industry or any white person to eclipse black people from producing rap or hip hop because these were born with them, and thirdly is that If Azealia ever felt pushed aside it wasn't by Iggy herself... cause she like everyone else just does his/her own thing, what pushed Azealia aside was the publicity TI gave Iggy and the fact that Mrs. Banks just always did what she wanted when she wanted so it obviously took a bit longer for her to grow a bit more in popularity.
    So, thats about all, I mean... I don´t give a shit about what kind of accent anyone tries to imitate or if their lyrics just speak about their ass or their origins as a singer... What I listen to is music, black or white, they are all different and they don't even need to copy each other even though they follow the lates trends and dress similar.
    So really, I mean... I don't want to start feeling bad for being white like If I had done anything bad to anyone... :( I appreciate everything black and every other culture has brought to my life and in this century it's just absurd to try to compare people that way. I really do feel (lets not say sorry but) affected in some way by how I saw Azealia suffering in that interview, but you can't just focus this whole problem on one person from the present, this has its origins way back, and making people responsible about it now instead of fighting against it just makes it worse.
    In any case, thanks for reading and hope to hear an answer ^^ xoxxo

    • @SenseiAishitemasu
      @SenseiAishitemasu  9 років тому +3

      You don't have to feel bad for being white and enjoying black culture. The issues arise when white people attempt to appropriate and co-opt Black culture for themselves without respecting it or listening to Black people. Thats the issue people have. Since you're not American I understand that it can be confusing, but in America there is an intense culture of white people stealing things from Black people and claiming they created it, getting accolades and praise for it, meanwhile Black artists doing the exact same thing are not recognized or are seen as inferior because they're Black. It's a form of racism and it is not okay.

      Sensei Aishitemasu Sure, but, where does everyone seem to understand that Iggy claims rap or hip hop to be hers? I mean, its a more cultural problem than a one-person-itself's problem isn't it? It's the white people's demand and music industries fault that black artists don't get that much attention right?

    • @SenseiAishitemasu
      @SenseiAishitemasu  9 років тому +1

      Silvia Segura Turner I will definitely say that she is a 'cog in the wheel,' so to speak. But other white artists (like Macklemore) at least have an awareness of their position and how being white helps them. She acts completely oblivious and even puts down others and that is just not cool to me.

    Bowie and Bjork barely have any Grammys either. a lot of artists who are number 2 yet sold more than number 1 a week later are also getting hate and it's just the agenda of billboard or others. It's not always about race. I'm just talking about this instance in specific. I know someone who works for a magazine in France and they categorise each artist. like Rihanna, madonna, azealia banks, . winehouse.. they are "bad" so they have to write bad or manipulated stuff... Adele.. gaga.. Taylor.. they are written nicely about. you know who the guy is who decides this stuff? Rupert Murdoch. and look who he is friends with... Taylor.. gags..
