I think the best mistake might be to cast Kim Seon Ho as a SML in Start Up. Director is a fan of KSH in the theater world. He liked him so much that he even adjusted the shooting schedules in order to accommodate KSH's schedules. I bet no one including the writer expected KSH portraited HJP character so well that he stole the heart of millions of viewers. Tbh, HJP's character is a typical SML. You see many of these types of SL in k-drama. I really believe it is because of KSH's powerful acting and excellent interpretation of HJP in multiple dimensions that made this character so lovable. I am curious what if HJP was played by someone else except KSH, would HJP become an arrogant and cold hearted character that no one likes? I never ever imagine I would root celebratis. I became his fan after I learned more about his true personality through watching 2 days and 1 night variety show and reading many interviews. He is a talented actor. He is humble, warm-hearted and funny. I am grateful that he finally got the recognition he deserved. 2020 is a difficult year. I am glad to find this hidden gem actor. I will support him and pray he will become more successful for a long long time!

Dalmi and then Jipyeong were by far the two most developed characters in the drama which is why people liked them. Dosan and even the grandmother was underdeveloped. Check out my thoughts on why I think Dalmi suffered from the impostor syndrome and how Jipyeong helped her overcome it! #teamJipyeong
This is one the few drama where I felt the main lead didn't get his lady love and the second lead won the lady love over the main lead. Although officially Han Jipyeong is the 2nd lead, he is the main lead for me for Start-up. 😀
