It’s so sad that a small minority of your country is causing so much chaos and destruction. PS - I think you’d like Hawai’i. It’s probably the only state in America where dark skin is the beauty standard. I’m a 5th generation Japanese American and I come from a family of laborers (plantation workers, farmers, and fishermen) so unlike the 95% of Japanese who are very fair complected…the brown in my profile picture is as light as I get, but when I go fishing or surfing a lot, I get really dark…people would call me “papa’a”, the Hawaiian word for “burnt”, and it was always in the form of a compliment. The reason is that Native Hawaiians are very melanin wealthy..so most people in Hawai’i see dark skin as beautiful, and I love that about my home state. In fact, I grew up with a friend who’s African American and he was born and raised here. Well he moved to Texas 20 years ago and came home last summer on holiday and brought 3 of his friends with him, all of them are African American…they all couldn’t believe how different it is here compared to their home state. So I hope you get to come here one day, and I hope I get to go to 🇿🇦 one day!🤞🏽
I concur 100%. I’m glad that the world is slowly seeing just how beautiful African women are, and I don’t just mean from Africa, I mean women who have African blood. Maybe ‘cause I grew up being told that brown skin is beautiful, I have a hard time understanding how anyone could look at Zozibini and not see a stunning beautiful woman. Let’s be real, when you take hair out of the equation and you’re still more gorgeous than your competition…they’re not completion. 😉

South Africa has major problems, but there is no place in the world I'd rather be in. I remember going to a nightclub in the bush in Diani Kenya and Brenda Fasi played half the night. Hearing our music being played around the world, creating intense experiences for people is priceless ❤

I'm so appreciate south Africa growing me up and educating me. I came when I was 14 left at 27...I would have stayed but my mother was terminally ill with breast cancer. But Mzanzi will always have a special place in my heart. Christian Brothers College Pretoria...Mr. Brown my principal... Tukkies, Witwatersrand, Durban and Rhodes... accepted me. I chose Rhodes

I am watching this programme on 16 June, Youth Day. This is a celebration for me. I was in Johannesburg in 1976 and had many friends in Soweto, so this is a great joy to see these young South Africans who are making their mark on world platforms. It is great too that they honour their roots and the people who helped them to get where they are now. Inspiring.

The bit with Charlize - loved it. One thing, when I lived in Edenvale, there was a circus at the Hyperama across the road from me. I made friends with an elephant in the parking lot and took photos just to tease people - yes, we do have elephants outside our supermarkets in S.A. LOL
