When you get off topic it is always just as informative...so I never mind it. 😂🌟
LOL!! Thank you! You're the best! 🙏
I agree! Perhaps just have a clock for time management. Happy plantings!
+1 Southerners love to meander through a conversation. It's a gift we have ;)
@@jamesbryan1285 Love this! So true... might as well start calling myself Meandrea 😂💜
I second that!!
Oh girl, I just love that pot in the pot in the pot tower, what an amazing idea!
i’m certainly new to both your channel and being a succulent mama, and i gotta say....THANK YOU for having by far, the best video for propagating!!! i’ve been looking for someone to explain it better, and i found you and this video. 🥰 thanks again.
Wow, thank you!
you treating them as little babies I love that😘😍😍😍
They ARE my babies- but much quieter than the real thing :) I can stare at them for hours and hours...
@@SucsForYou Much quieter and much less expensive!!
I love your little gardening area - could you do a little tour of it?
I think this is a wonderful idea!
Michael Maltese agreed!! Yes please!
I deeed it! Peep the latest video when you get sec ;) ua-cam.com/video/tYtly-L8al0/v-deo.html
done!! hope you like! ua-cam.com/video/tYtly-L8al0/v-deo.html
Yes I just watched it! So nice :)
I love that tiny terracotta pot its so cute!
We do ramble!! My husband isn't from here and its been 13 years and he still doesn't get it!! LOL! Thank you for the video
You did ramble, but u did a Waaaay more complete job on this topic than almost anyone else.
Just like the other Jason said ... let it go. Feel comfortable because you are saying the right things even when off topic. It was a pleasure finding your vids. I can see you care about your plants lives. I do the same. Thank you for putting time into sharing your views with us
I appreciate that!
2020. From Wisconsin, this is exactly what I needed. So many videos were propagating half or just the top of a succulent. I was just moving one from the pot I purchased it in, it broke a leaf and I needed to know how to not make waste of it. It took me a week of hanging on to one leaf to find out just what to do. Thank you so much miss. I've just started my indoor exploration of plants and this video is a huge help. What a wonderful video, again, thank you.
Happy to help sir! Good luck and stay warm!
Aw those perle vons are super cute!
Love this! The ramblings are fun too! Also, I just propigated a few smaller shoots of my snake plant and kept it by the mother plant . I swear they grow way better when they're close to other plants!
Just rewatched this great video to refresh my memory. Jellybean succs have been propagating up a storm. They seem so much easier than the leafy ones. Thanks!
With a couple of feet of snow on the ground, seeing the green outside your windows gives me hope, but not for quite awhile though!
Good tip about leaving the leaf on; some take it off once they see a bud with roots, but it makes sense to keep it on for it's nutrients!
I like how you give very specific instructions. Like planting that little succulent into that little clay pot.
Your succulents are so beautiful! This is my husband's profile somehow but I am pinning this video. Everything you used to propagate gave me ideas for a center piece I'm going to make for my dining table. It gets the perfect amount of light and I have a bigger terrarium stage in my kitchen. It will be the perfect addition to my decor and cycle display. Thank you so much for making this video! God bless you! Joanne
Thanks Joanne! It's nice to know I can help!! Terrariums are so fun too! Consider an airplant.... :D
I think we don’t mind longer videos from you, so you can show us what you want at that moment.
I like that you are really passionate about succulents and want to teach us and show us, pls do more :)
You are really cute when you try to hold back, I think you can try in one video to not hold back, it would be really interesting :)
Thanks Terroare!
Your "creations" are ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL!!! you are very talented. You are easy to listen to and I find your videos very informative, interesting and soothing. Thank you. I've been growing house plants for nearly 50 yrs. I just recently got started with succulents. I have so much to learn. Time to buy perlite.
Loved your three-tiered pot idea. Definitely going to do that once my little guys get bigger. Thanks for the video! Now I know when to plant my babies.
Thanks Aaron!
Finally! A video on succulent propagation that answers every single one of my questions! Thank you!
Thanks Lily!! I did try to cover the basics but holler if you do have any questions come up in the future :) xoxo
Your succies are amazing. You are adorable and fun to watch. I lived in San Antonio for a brief time in the military originating from San Diego, California And the weather freaked me out and seemed extreme. I’ve been back in San Diego for a long time and just got into succulents because I bought a Graptopetalum Superbum by chance a few years ago that grew into a beast and had so much plant that I pursued propagation to use all the pieces when I replanted. Thank you for the videos :)
Thanks BD! That superbum sounds amazing! And funny enough, San Antonio weather is much nicer than Houston usually :/
Oh my! Those baby variety pots are so adorable! I want one so bad!
Me too! Lol
You remind me A LOT of Mary Louise Parker :) love your videos! Thank you!
Ha!! Thank you!
never thought about burying the mother leaf! Thank you for the video!
You are so welcome!
Hello , love yours little cute succulents garden ideas, very neat organise. Thanks for sharing from Australia.

Love your layered pots! Just adorable!
Thanks Wanda!
I love the ending that little pot was super cute I'm new at the hole succulent plants and cacti and this helped me big time!!

Dona Addison it's the little things that make it all worthwhile Dont'cha think ? you've got a wonderful delivery and i'm looking forward to watching more. You blow my mind!....Ok, carry-on.
This is the most informative leaf propagation vid I've seen to date and you have some cute ideas for potting up. Thanks for posting.
I'm glad it was helpful!
Love your chatty style. Love from Brisbane
Thanks for all this useful Information, you sound very natural and kind , I'm enjoying all of your videos .
She knows her succulents for sure!
hi! so i'm not sure if you'll see this but about over a month ago i plucked the leaves from my succulent and misted them everyday and they are doing well!! but i have a question. so they have roots that are very long and have just had roots for almost 2 weeks and they just keep getting longer. no leaves. what should i do. should i cover the roots?
Yes ma'am just cover the roots with dirt and spray the dirt over the roots with water -try not to get the leaves wet
great video I learned a lot about succulent.thanks
Thank you!! I'm happy if it helped!
I’m having a go at propagating a succulent for the first time it looks so cool. I will be documenting the progress on my channel. Wish me luck!
Best of luck Frannn!
I have found that if you let them dry out completely like a cactus, they love that too, even during propogation.
I love this video! It's very informative and now I'm pretty confident in propagating my succulents! Thanks! :)
BIG SMILES OVER HERE! :D Thanks for watching and feel free to drop by w/ any new questions
Thank you so much for making this! We tried to propagate from some leaves that fell off of our succulent planter because our dog got in it, and nothing seemed to be working. Now I know what we were doing wrong and in the future I'm sure we can do it! I'm just a beginner but I love succulents and hope to own a nursery some day so thank you so much!!
Hi Sky! That's awesome! My dogs liked to sleep on my propagation trays too. :/ Maybe because they were in a great sunny spot by the window... what do you think you were doing wrong? And I think I want to have a small nursery or just a small botanical garden that sells good coffee, or maybe just a tequila shop with succulents too ;D So many possibilities!
Sucs For You! I think we messed up watering them, or we picked leaves that were already to far gone, because we never even saw roots. And I guess a nursery is a bit of an overstatement, I just wanted to simplify it lol. I really want to just own a little shop with succulents (and other plants) and different kinds of pots for them and other decorations as well. Where I live we have a small square that has a lot of small antique stores and I'd love to do that but with plants. A coffee shop is another good idea though! I love coffee lol.
Like id love to sell decorations that I can make on my own, like selling things that I can make using the DIY projects on UA-cam and stuff
You should get some Flora glue to play with... fun stuff!
Sucs For You! Ok, I'll look into it,thank you!
I'm following you on Instagram and really enjoyed watching your video. Thanks for making it! +1 sub 😊
Thank you! I'm enjoying your mushroom kit vids!! I need to try that...
Great creativity with the micro succulents. I like the mini dish garden a lot. I mainly grow gasterias but I am a plant geek so I have everything. I'll definitely do the little fairy garden.
Thank you! I have a gasteria, maybe two but different types... a warty and a small but smooth/hard-leafed variety. I love them! Any tips on keeping them happy would be great!
my little perle von nurnberg cutting grew a nice lil plant cant wait for it to grow
They're so fun!
Hi! Love your channel...I am a newbie but totally addictied to my new succulent babies...I have some important urget t questions I'm hoping you or someone can answer...1. I pulled my leafs off correctly and instead of letting the callus before putting them on dry soul...I instantly put them in the soil...they r all basically I callused now but "Did I ruin them by putting them directly on the soil after popping them off their Mommy?"....2. my next question is...I had a baby growing off it's Mommy and I wanted to separate it and plant it in her own pot....I screwed up and somehow cut the roots off the big Mamma Plant...(the baby has it's roots and is doing fine ..) the mama plant still has a tiny amount of root and I just laid her right back on top of the soil where she was praying she will be ok.... "Is the Mama going to die with Such little roots supporting her?".. thanks for whoever takes the time to answer and give me so advice....
Hi Ashely! It sounds like you did everything right :) Both should be fine!
Hi, great video. You answered heaps of questions I had around propagation of succulents. Loved the potting ideas you included - very creative. thanks
Thank you so much!
I dont know but. I love succulents and your hair is beautiful
Wow thanks for sharing your knowledge, you answered all of my questions. Have a wonderful day
Thank you so much Jenn!!
Yes she's awesome with her succulents!
I'm going to try this method with my yucca plant leaves. Looks good.
Enjoy the new growth!
Love your videos! Keep them coming! :) Question: What type of soil mix do you use for your succs?
Thanks and I'm on it! I personally make my own from about 30-40% topsoil (cheap filler dirt) to 60-70% perlite with a bunch of pumice for good measure- if you watch a minute or two of this video, I talk about making it ;) (How to: Arrange a simple pot... ua-cam.com/video/P3OwhkExhug/v-deo.html)
I use my own too here in florida we get tons of rain, excessive heat and humidity. I use 50% succulent and cacti soil, 40% perlite and 10% coco loco potting mix. She makes her own which is great too! I just have to do things a little different here because of the crazy climates all year long. Hope that helps!
Superb plant collection & variety. The stacking clay pots idea is brilliant, never seen that before so will be emulating that soon. It's a cold, dark & wet February here in Cambridgshire UK but I have rebutia cuttings actually in flower due to a heated propagator plus echeveria leaf cuttings rooting away nicely. I will try & pop a vid up soon. Cheers !
Thanks Robert! I don't think I could survive long in the UK climate :D I'm glad your efforts are rewarding you with lovely blooms! Look forward to seeing your collection - Cheers!
Awesome video! Thank you!! I love those stacked pots that looks SO cool
Thanks for watching!
Pretty good video! Very affirmative
I learn a lot from this video...thanks so much! You are a blessing
Thank you SO much Ethel!
Thank you so much. My mother in law gave me an Echeveria Nnoduiosa. I feared I almost killed it. But this is still hope for it yet.
I'm in love with you succulents!
Me too! They are adorable. I've added so many to mine after watching her videos. Lol. I usually grow veggies and herbs but ive gotten a lot of cacti and succulents this past year. Lol it's addicting.
Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge. Your videos are super. I have a few succulents and cactus myself and I am in the early stages of how to care for them. In the very beginning, I was either over watering them because I was watering them along with my flowers or would forget about them. When they dried-out that is when I noticed that they did well. Again, thank you..I like that live in the same area as I do. Keep those videos coming and if you have any flowers, share those too.
Hey Christina! I'm glad you're finding the vids helpful ;) And yes- I'm glad we're in the same area too because it can be quite a challenge to keep succulents in Houston and similar climates... I want people to know they're going to have to try a bit harder than others but it is possible and it's very rewarding

That's comforting :D Thank you!
So cute, you so much inspired me, I am into crystals too! Thank you!
Thank you!!
Hello! I want to propagate a leaf that fell on its own but the succulent hasn’t been watered in s couple of weeks. Do you think the leaf will do okay?
Any suggestions on a go to soil mixture? What kind of pebbles do you prefer?
my succulents got rained out ,/ soaked ,I forgot to bring them in one night, do u think I should repot them ? I hate for them to rot since some of them beginning grow , & in plastic container?
Yes! Do it now!! Especially if they're in plastic...You can pull them out of the soil and leave them for a week before worrying about repotting :) Either dump the dirt and wait for it to dry, or go ahead with some new dirt and reuse the old once it's dry again.
love your video's, your awesome... this is my first time propagating like 20 different succulents and just noticed like a week ago that some of the roots are above the dirt and they look Brownish...what dose it mean?? help
Thanks Michelle! Maybe the roots are drying out from being exposed to air? Just add a lil more dirt to help hold them in place if they're trying to run away :)
I just recently found your channel and subscribed. I am enjoying all your videos I have seen. Your such a sweet person and you have a good heart 💜 🩵💙
Thanks Tracey! Glad you found me! Happy growing!
Hey I have a question so my succulent leave has grown a little babie that's about the size of a penny but no roots have come out of it the baby is just getting bigger I have it on dirt what should I do?? Will it eventually grow roots or what
So cute baby. I love it 😍😍😍
Your videos are SOOO informative I can't wait to do some propogating hehehe
Thanks! Happy to be helpful :)
Do Topsy Turvey Succulants have their babies grow from shoots that you cut off like you did with that one today? Or are those shoots just a bloom? Thanks
Most Echeveria types don't make the long stem babies but several can and do! I've had it happen with an E. diffractens and a Graptoveria Fred Ives so far :)
This is a very informative channel. Wonderful personality and interesting videos.
Thank you kindly!
Hi Andrea! how should I water baby sucs that just got planted in their own pot? I am just spraying water daily on those leaves that are sprouting new baby plants and I have a few that I'm thinking of transferring to small pots. Will watering the soil cause rot or should I continue spraying? Thanks!
Try to keep the leaves dry and target the roots with a little water. Also keep out of direct sunlight after watering (wet leaves + bright light....water magnifies the heat and it will burn the leaves!). Let the soil dry out between waterings so the plant is encouraged to send out more roots. Keep an eye out for a demo of various watering methods :D
I’m currently propagating leaves ...when do you plant them and when does that leave come off baby..on its own?
So did you pluck it a few minutes after watering or did you wait for a day before plucking so the leaves are hydrated before getting plucked? How often do you water yours? Its spring here in the east coast NJ so i've been watering weekly
Your timing is too perfect :D I JUST published a vid on watering a few minutes ago ... but you should wait a day or two after watering to make sure the leaves have a chance to absorb them before propagation. I applaud you for watering weekly - you may up that to twice a week or more based on the drainage and evaporation rate/humidity. Use your intuition and please read the table of contents in the description here for shortcuts to answers: ua-cam.com/video/lJve-k9u4U8/v-deo.html
Once the leaves have roots and are now on soil, do you water at all? Or do you let the parent leaf continue to provide everything until you see a baby? I have some with little roots that I just put on soil today. No water at all yet. The soil ( for cactus) was moist out of the bag but in my climate will dry out completely in a day or two. I have them in a bright, non direct sunny window.
Try not watering until the parent leaf starts withering. Then you can dampen the soil around the roots to help supplement :)
Agree with that for sure! My motto no roots no water.
Are mini flowering Kolanchoe hard to propagate ? My cuttings get kinda wimpy, and then its done...what do you think about splitting a double stalk in half from a healthy plant..Sandy...thanks
That's what I would do! Smaller pieces might require less energy to put down new roots ;)
At 6:03 when you said "they're gonna hang on there for a little while longer", about how long did you mean? I have some that have sprouted small plants. It's been about 3 months since I first cut the leaf from the original plant.
I really try to let the leaf dry completely until it falls off naturally :)
Hello ! Love your video, my Pearl von nurnberg is propagating well, however I have a lot of babies but no roots yet, do you thing that they will be okay ? It is been almost 2 months, should I repot them anyway ? Thanks !
Thanks Audrey! Yes, I think they'll be just fine! I would just leave them where they are if they seem happy :)
some of the roots of my propagated leaves turned black. Is this caused by too much sun as its on the window sill? Are they salvageable? The new succulent growths are still rather small but they look fine. I didn't have them initially in soil but after i noticed the black roots i put them on a soil bed in hopes they could grow new roots somehow. Any suggestions?
I think you're on the right track :) They should make more roots - I hope so at least!
I love your channel!!! ❤️
Thanks Diana!
Amazing 😍❤️
This was such a great video! I'm super excited to try this out!
Thanks Chelsey! Let me know if you have any questions!
love your content.
Thanks for this video 😍 i have a question, why mine are just roots coming out from the leaves? No new leaves
so removed a bunch of leaves ready to fall off near the bottom to propagate, (a graptosedum is think??) and i chopped the top off because it had a little flower. On the original root thats still in the soil of the pot will that just sprout a new flower eventually? -new to succulenting-
I think you're asking if the base of the plant you topped will grow new plants... if so, yes! There's a great chance new plants will grow along the stem where the leaves were removed :)
I’m 2 years late to the chat here lol so hopefully this finds you! I did my first leaf propagating and had several get roots and little babies. But I gave a bunch with only roots? Do I keep waiting? Do I plant the roots? Give up? 🤷♀️🤣 thanks!
You can plant the roots sure! They may be 'duds' but sometimes it takes a long time to see leaves.
Sucs For You! Awesome! Thanks so much! I’ll get them planted tomorrow! The roots are about an inch long and there’s a ton of roots on each one so fingers crossed
@@Ashe4497 how did it go?! 😍🌱
Love this plant...hope that I've as many as I can
Thise baby pots are soooo cute ♡ planning to start my own cacti and succulent garden wish me luck
Thank you! GOOD LUCK!!!

lots of cool ideas thank you
Enjoyed your video☺
I’m going to take you up on your bet about doing it anywhere. I’m in southern Ontario and I haven’t had a single successful propagation yet. So so many leaves and none have matured. Tried both North and south facing windows to no avail, can’t to it outdoors unfortunately.
Question - for the three little succulents that you have on the small terracotta tray (that have babies growing and leaves still attached) do you water those on the tray, or will those actually be moved back to the dirt tray to root in?
I put them back in the dirt ;)
Idk why but wiggling it never gives me a clean break, but pushing it downwards does. Maybe it just depends from person to person and plant to plant
Loved your video and your goofiness ☺ ty for the tips. I'd love to know how often to water cuttings
Glad it was helpful!! Here's a more recent prop-watering vid - ua-cam.com/video/e-mzR6vI2KI/v-deo.html
love your collection! what's the coldest weather succulents can stand? I'm in Oregon and I keep my babies inside but I'm wondering if I can use a green house outside
They all have different temperature hardiness- you'll want to figure out your garden zone and use Dave's Garden or a similar site to see who likes what ;) For example, sempervivum are very cold hardy and really do better in your climate than mine - they hate heat/humidity and that's all I've got!
Hi! So my Lola’s are translucent at the baby making end on the leaves I picked off to propagate. Now the plant is healthy and happy but the leaves are weird looking. Not to mention 5-7 days after picking of the main plant poof they go clear, not rotting but clear and shriveled. What do you is wrong because I learned the watering schedule of the Lola’s (2 plants actually doing the same thing) and I nearly lost one of the plants due to over watering but got to it before it went to rot. So I can’t figure it out.
Oh and my von nurnberg’s.....I get roots and then they turn black! They are imby no means near sunlight it’s far away indirect sunlight so the roots can’t possibly be burning. But drying up and going skinny and black.
Great video. The video was clear and I love how you have your set up.
Thanks so much!
*Very nice 👌*
loved the video! im from new zealand so the weather gets a bit all over the place here but im trying my best to set up a large succulent farm. its just getting started but I've got high hopes for it!
Thank you! I follow a lot of AUS and NZ accounts on Instagram - you should do very well if their posts of amazing plants are any indicator :) Good luck!!
I love your succulents❤.i have a question though. If the leaf i use to propagate have roots but doesnt have new leaves growing, will it stll have a chance to grow new leaves? Ty
There's always a chance as long as it's alive!
My leaf cuttings have long roots but no baby flowers yet .. should i try to cover the roots a bit ? 🤔
Sure! It wouldn't hurt and will help keep them from drying out. Here's a newer video that may answer more of your questions :) ua-cam.com/video/e-mzR6vI2KI/v-deo.html
Super excited to find your channel! I am in Seabrook and find that some things that work in other aka cooler areas of the states, do not work here. I fell in love with succulents about 10 months ago.. Prior to that, I didn't care much for plants....at all. Last summer my plants stayed alive...which to me was amazing. However when the fall came, they started to grow and look healthy. Do you find living in our climate that you have to watch them more in the summer than winter?
"Last summer my plants stayed alive...which to me was amazing..." Same here!!! It was the hottest summer on record in 137 years!
And yes, the eagerness they show for growth in the fall might be greater than spring- the only issue in winter is the occasional freak freeze and too much rain- otherwise, I'd say they love our tropical/bayou 'winters.' :)
how long does it take for the leave to grow the little roots? and how long till it creates new leaves
Hi, love these videos! I went to the store and they were giving me some of the leaves and such that had fallen off. They gave me a couple of the babies with no leaf and no root. They are close to the size of the one you potted with the leaf attached. What should I do? Will they die with no roots?
Nope :) You'll just have to wait it out... they should root eventually!
Nice Video Thank you ! I want to ask you what Substrat do you use for your succulents ;
