  • @rebeccaledong

    1. The cause of laziness is a craving for comfort
    2. The cost of laziness is a wasted life
    3. The cure for laziness is discipline despite difficulty (you only grow when you're uncomfortable).
Thank you for this message! This is such a needed reminder. Also, love the suggestion to put your alarm opposite the room, with your bible on top.

@@a.sydney5036Its the best decision you should make. A tip I have is to get a Bible I use the KJV and then get the “Logos” Bible app blue icon. You can easily look up meanings of words that you dont understand. That is if you read or are planning to read the KJV

This really moved me... I'm so sick of living self absorbed and missing my Godly purpose that it's pathetic. 35 years old with nothing to show for it so far. I was supposed to be much further along my road had i taken all of this seriously and not have been so "lazy busy". I have to tie my flesh to the alter and let God have his way with me. It is time for Godly discipline in my life. I'm sick of pursuing comforts and reaping zero prosperity. God help me, i am a waste on my own 🙏

I have once read words by Dieter F. Uchtdorf that said something like this "Often the answer to our prayer does not come while we're on our knees but while we're on our feet serving the Lord and serving those around us."
I was in my University years when I read this word, I was joining a bunch of organization to keep me busy and learning something new. It was actually in these years, when I was busy doing something to learn, to meet new people, to find God that I was able to see better what God wants me to do.
Not in comfort, not in going home early to relax and watch the newest TV series, but in discomfort of loongggg hours of meeting and labor that I was able to produce fruit.

@@AtticTapes14 The Lord does give us time to rest because there is a time and a purpose to everything under the sun as said in Ecclsiastes. However there is a difference between resting and laziness. Resting is to preserve energy to continue serving the Lord. Resting is not an excuse to be temporarily lazy because it is still sin. Even in a time of rest there needs to be discipline to set out quiet time for the Lord.

    Laziness. Costs. Me. Progress.
Laziness costs me my purpose. 🥺😭
I think this sermon is hard for me to hear because I do believe there has been an evil decree spoken over me at some point in the past that I would waste my life- but it’s not what I want. I am on the verge of tears please pray for me. ❤

We buy snowblowers to clean short narrow driveways......then we buy gym memberships. ......we take elevators in every building we can instead of the stairs. .....then we buy gym memberships. ......we buy our wood split...cut in pieces..pay to have it delivered and piled up for us.....then we buy gym memberships. As church goers we preach against drinking...smoking...drugs...leave gluttony out of our judgements as we carry way to much weight. ...Lazy ness is not a desired quality of a professing christian...but it is everywhere in our churches. ...including the leaders.
