    I remember when my brothers and I were playing Super Mario Galaxy and we got to Gusty Garden Galaxy. When the music started we went like "whoa whoa wait a second" and we just let Mario stand there and listened to this beautiful song for a few minutes. Only after that we continued playing the game. It's so strange to see how bold and outgoing a person Miyamoto is, contrasted against how shy and cautious Kondo appears, even when conducting something as amazing as this.
    These two have been working together since their twenties, yet they've become very different people.

      It’s simple, and it’s genius. It’s a very common technique involving the minor 4th that evokes melancholy and nostalgia.
      The first phrase goes: major first, minor second, major 5th (and continues). And then, in the 2nd phrase, it goes: Major first, major second, minor 4th (the melancholy chord).
      I think Charles Cornell has a good video about this if you wanna learn more (:

    This brought a real tear to my eye… I remember playing SMG with my little brother back then in 2012 and was amazed by how good the game and the music was… It still is and this really just hit me with a wave of nostalgia… Now that I’m an adult, I understand why older people want to go back to the past. This is one of my own personal reasons. Remember to always cherish your time. Time goes by too quick. Thank you for making my childhood Nintendo.

    I remember when I was in the fourth grade my elementary school gathered everyone going into the fifth grade in the gym. They had us choose our mandatory fine art and the teachers did so by showing up different videos on a projector. The orchestra teacher pulled up this video and I was blown away (even if the sound quality was terrible). I remember getting chills hearing this in that gym even though I'd already played through the game. I decided to pick up the violin that day and I have learned to play 3 instruments since then. :) Shoutout to Mahito Yokota

    So happy they filmed this along with miyamoto’s reaction. So cool hearing the officially used music played live infront of the man, the myth, the legend, miyamoto. It would be the oppurtunity of a lifetime to not only play in an orchestra for an iconic video game, but perform infront of miyamoto

      @AlexxTheBrony 5 років тому +22

      @@professorparabellum Yes, because they are playing the song, BUT the uploader (I guess them) put the song from the game over the video recording.
      You can tell when something is played live, and when it's recorded.
      Specially for a game.
      In that room, for example, we would hear echoing, since it's a closed room.

      They are still playing in time. If you look at the violins: 1 - Their bow strokes match up to the song
      2 - they are counting the offbeat with their feet and movement
      But yea, it is still the final recording played over

      If you can play the game on the system already, it's not a port.
      And if you already played it twice on the Wii, why do you need to pay another $50 to play it again?

    • @Loog.
      @Loog. 10 років тому +1

      You could play Pikmin & Pikmin 2 on the Wii using the GameCube discs, but they still released New Play Control! versions which featured updated controls supporting Wii Remotes and other slight changes. Even though you could already "play the game," those were still ports, enhanced ports.
      It'd be no different if they did the same thing with Galaxy, adding gamepad controller support and updated graphics would be nice, and I wouldn't mind paying a fair price ($30 - $40 maybe) considering I played it last in 2008.
